Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: The Empire’s Strongest General!

Upon receiving his orders, Gaileo immediately set out with an army of 30,000 men to Fort Hon to join up with his brother's army.

"Great General Justice I've arrived just as you ordered sir." Gaileo said as he saluted his brother.

Though he refused to acknowledge the Emperor as his father, even as an adoptive father. In the case of Justice, he respected as an older brother. Justice was far and away the strongest warrior in the Empire. Gaileo saw him as the shining example of what a Great General should look like.

"Deputy General Gaileo, I'm glad to see that you arrived in a timely manner. I had expected that it would take you 4 days to prepare your army to mobilize and March all the way here. But you arrived in only two."

Justice replied.

"I had kept my forces prepared to mobilize for the last few months. So we were prepared to move out on a moment's notice." Gaileo said.

"Accompany me to the keep. We will be going over the strategy and objectives for this campaign." Justice said as he gestured towards the castle's central keep.

When they arrived in the keep, Gaileo noticed that it was empty. "Where are the rest of your generals?" He asked.

"They had already received their orders before you arrived. Your army and mine will attack our first few objectives together." Justice replied.

"Alright, so which cities are we after this time?" Gaileo asked.

"The objective of this campaign is the capture of 30." Justice said.

"We're trying to capture 30 cities? That's a tall task." Gaileo responded.

"No, our objective is to conquer 30 nations during this campaign." Justice explained.

"What? 30 nations? That's, the scope of that is just far too different to a normal campaign." Gaileo said.

"Such is the norm for me and my men. This much is the minimum you must be capable of if you want to reach the pinnacle of Imperial power." Justice replied. "I hear that you wish to usurp me and claim the throne of Emperor for yourself."

Gaileo was a bit taken aback by the question. He knew that his declarations had made their way to his older brother at some point, but he didn't ever think he'd have to discuss it face to face with him.

"Yes, I am." Gaileo said unwaveringly. "Though I would like to remind you that you aren't officially the heir to the throne yet."

Justice cracked a slight smile. Gaileo had never seen his brother smile even the slightest bit before.

"That's correct. Don't mistake me I'm not angry with your ambition. In fact, I find your ambitions to be quite beneficial to the Empire. I believe it will motivate you to only become stronger and more resourceful." Justice said. "Just make sure that your ambition doesn't turn into greed and that you don't fall down the wrong path."

"Umm, yes sir." Gaileo said as he was unsure of what way the conversation would turn.

"In fact, I think I'll give you another piece of motivation." Justice said as he took a few steps toward Gaileo. "If you perform your duty well during this campaign, I'll reward you with the secret teachings that make a great general."

"Really?" Gaileo asked excitedly.

"Of course, it would be to the benefit of the Empire after all, you are being evaluated for a promotion to a full fledged general. It's only natural that you should be fully prepared to take in such a responsibility." Justice replied. "Now get your men ready, we're setting out for our first objective."

"Yes sir!" Gaileo said as he enthusiastically saluted his brother.

"Our first battle will be at Fort Grengar." Justice explained.
