After checking for a while, Liebe said, "Licht, get someone to take the body."
Licht said, "Ok."
Liebe said, "Till then, I guess I will keep Alen company. At least, whatever remains of him." As Licht remained, Liebe said, "Sorry, Alen. Sorry I couldn't make it in time. Sorry, my dear friend, you didn't deserve this. Whoever did this to you will pay."
As the water in the lake beside him began to move, the lake swallowed him before Liebe could do anything. As he was getting pulled down deeper into the current, the water was getting into his lungs and making him lose consciousness. As he almost lost consciousness, the masked man showed himself and said, "Soon, this institution will be cleansed of every half-breed."
Liebe opened his eyes as he struck with his sword. Liebe said, "Dark Magic: Gills."
The man said, "How the hell are you alive?"
Liebe said, "What a joke. I can hold my breath for more than 10 minutes without magic. What kind of weakling is part of Black Rose and can't even do this much?"
As Liebe charged, the water itself was stopping him. Liebe said, "Dark Magic: Dark Cleanse!" As his attack moved through the strong currents.
The enemy said, "My magic will not lose underwater."
Liebe said, "We will see about that. Dark Magic: Roar of Darkness!" As the spell managed to push through even the current, yet the enemy wasn't there; he appeared behind Liebe.
Liebe said, "What the hell?" As he was stabbed in the hip and thighs. Liebe thought, Great, now I can't move properly. But no choice left. As he used his swords to cut himself.
The enemy said, "Resigning yourself to fate, I see."
Liebe said, "Not in hell. Now, Dark Magic: Raging Valhalla!" As his blood, mixed with the water, was working.
The man said, "You will not survive," as he went in for close range, and Liebe was facing him in a close-range battle. As it was apparent that the man was no amateur when it came to assassination, Liebe used his knives instead of swords. Yet even in close quarters, Liebe was losing.
As Liebe managed to remove some skin from his right hand, Liebe said, "You will not live through this."
When Licht came back, Licht thought, Where the hell is Liebe? As he saw the huge explosion underwater, Licht said, "What the hell?" As the man emerged from the water, Liebe said, "Don't let him escape!"
Licht said, "Light Magic: Piercing Light's Strike!" As the strike hit, the man vanished.
Licht said, "Shit! Shit! I missed!"
Liebe said, "He escaped. God damn it."
Licht said, "Liebe, are you ok?"
Liebe coughed up water as he said, "Yeah, I'm fine. We let the goddamn bastard get away."
Licht said, "All that for nothing. Alen died for nothing."
Liebe said, "All that for nothing. All that we have to show for it is some skin samples."
Licht said, "We should have killed him instead of trying to capture the bastard."
Liebe said, "Why the hell did I try to save the lake? I should have used my all, even if it meant turning the lake to nothing."
As the both of them returned, they were given a towel. Isurugi and Fate were bandaged up.
Isurugi said, "Sir, what happened?"
Liebe said, "I tried to catch him, and instead of killing him, the bastard escaped. He was an assassin build, all right."
Licht said, "We goddamn failed when it mattered."
Alysa said, "It's alright. We'll get him next time."
Liebe said, "Next time? When? When the goddamn hell? After he kills someone else? Maybe next it will be you, or Hedin, or Iris, or Lumos. Then we'll catch him? We can't rest till the bastard is dead."
Alysa said, "Liebe."
Liebe said, "I'm sorry. I lost control. I just feel so frustrated. No leads for a week, and when we goddamn find him, this happens. I should have done it. Killed him, even if it meant turning this island to nothing."
As Alysa grabbed a chair and sat in front of Liebe, Alysa said, "Liebe, look at me."
Liebe said, "What is the point? The fact of the matter is that we failed."
Alysa said, "Look at me." As Liebe looked at her, Alysa said, "You could have done it. Used your Vesta Grand Blades and ended it. But then, the damage would have been great, and then we don't know who else would have gotten hurt. So, thank you. Thank you for letting him get away."
As Liebe began to tear up, he said, "Thank you."
Liebe said, "Please, give this skin sample to Mrs. Serena. Check whoever this skin belongs to."
Alysa said, "Ok."
Meanwhile, far away, the assassin said, "I can't believe I let that goddamn half-breed hurt me. He took more than a liter of blood."
From behind, a voice said, "Sad, he missed. But I will not." As a huge pitch-black battle axe was used to strike from above.
The assassin said, "How dare you?"
The man said, "I won't let you get away."
As the assassin wasn't able to move, a female voice said, "My, my, what a naughty boy you have been."
The assassin said, "You really think such strings can hold me?"
Serena said, "No, but rocks can. Now, Stone Magic: Gaia's Strike!" As the assassin was held in place.
The assassin said, "Otiz, you two? Why are you standing against me?"
As Obsidian emerged from the shadows, he said, "We will wipe you from the face of the world for harming our pupils. Now, Obsidian Magic: Black Demise!" As the giant battle axe moved to strike from the sky.
The assassin said, "Damn you, Avalon Elite."
Obsidian said, "I m sorry to say your tale ends here, my friend. Not even your ashes will remain."
