One month later.

After a month of rigorous physical training, proper nutrition, and carefully practicing the evolutionary equation techniques he'd learned from Atlantean texts, Aidan had managed to completely correct Ryan's vision problems. He no longer needed glasses at all, but to avoid drawing unwanted attention to his rapid transformation, he'd simply had the prescription lenses replaced with clear glass. Ryan's previously scrawny frame had filled out considerably - not bulky, but lean and strong in a way that suggested real functional fitness rather than gym vanity.

The evolutionary equation was working exactly as the ancient texts had described. Enhanced brain function, improved physical capabilities, better sensory acuity. He was still in the very early stages, probably around 15% brain development, but even that small improvement was making a dramatic difference in his daily life.

He'd also spent considerable time figuring out the basic rules governing energy manipulation in this universe. The dimensional barriers were thicker here than in his original reality, which meant some of the more powerful magic he was used to casting simply wouldn't work. But small-scale applications - minor portals, basic energy manipulation, simple transmutation - were definitely possible with enough focus and preparation.

Now it was time for the next phase of his plan: building an Arc Reactor and using it to revolutionize the Jaeger program. If he could prove the technology worked, he'd have the resources and credibility needed to implement much larger changes.

On this particular day, after completing his morning training session with the Wei Tang triplets who piloted Crimson Typhoon, Aidan made his way to the administrative section of the Shatterdome. Marshal Thompson was still in charge of the base - the older officer who'd specifically requested Ryan's transfer from the USA factory. Thompson would eventually be reassigned to the "Anti-Kaiju Wall" project when the PPDC started shifting resources away from the Jaeger program, and then Stacker Pentecost would take over base operations.

But for now, Thompson was the man with the authority to approve new projects and allocate resources.

After knocking on the heavy metal door of the marshal's office, it opened quickly to reveal a gray-haired but energetic man who greeted him with a warm smile. "What brings you to see an old soldier like me today?" Thompson handed him a cup of Coffee, a daily ritual that spoke to his approach to hospitality.

Aidan accepted Coffee with both hands, showing proper respect, then settled into the chair across from Thompson's desk. "According to our intelligence projections, we're expecting another Kaiju emergence sometime in the next month or two. I want to make some modifications to Crimson Typhoon before that happens."

Marshal Thompson's expression grew serious as he considered this. He set down his own cup and studied Aidan's face carefully. "Ryan, you know the funding situation is getting worse every month. The member nations are questioning every expense, and major modifications to existing Jaegers... that's exactly the kind of budget request that's been getting rejected lately."

"I understand the financial constraints, but what I'm proposing isn't just another upgrade. I want to completely replace the power system - specifically, the nuclear reactor." Aidan saw Thompson's skeptical expression and quickly continued. "It's a brand new type of Arc Reactor technology. Clean energy, no radiation, significantly more efficient than anything we're currently using."

Thompson's entire demeanor changed instantly. He stood up so quickly his chair rolled backward. "Are you serious? No radiation at all?"

"I am serious. I can build a working prototype in two days, but I'll need access to a dedicated laboratory and eventually a private Jaeger bay for testing." Aidan met the marshal's intense gaze steadily. "This isn't theoretical. This is proven technology that I can demonstrate."

Thompson began pacing behind his desk, his military mind clearly racing through the implications. He'd specifically requested Ryan's transfer from the factory because of his exceptional technical skills. The young engineer had never made grandiose claims before, and his work on Crimson Typhoon had been consistently outstanding.

But claiming to have developed radiation-free nuclear fusion was... extraordinary. The kind of breakthrough that happened maybe once in a generation, if ever.

"You're telling me you can build a working reactor in two days. This isn't some theoretical research project." Thompson's voice carried the weight of someone who'd seen too many promising technologies fail when they hit real-world testing.

"That's exactly what I'm saying. Give me the lab space and materials, and I'll prove it works." Aidan's confidence was absolute because he'd already built Arc Reactors before, in another reality with Tony Stark's .

Thompson stopped pacing and stared at him for a long moment. Finally, his expression softened slightly. "I can approve a dedicated laboratory immediately. After you show me results, I'll fight for whatever funding you need. But Ryan - if this doesn't work, if this is some kind of mistake or wishful thinking, it'll reflect badly on both of us."

"I understand the stakes. Send me the list of materials I need, and you'll have a working demonstration within 48 hours of receiving them." Aidan stood and Saluted . "Thank you for giving me this opportunity."

After they discussed the specifics of laboratory requirements and material procurement, Aidan left Thompson's office feeling genuinely optimistic for the first time since arriving in this world.

The laboratory space was approved within hours, and the materials list was processed with unusual speed - apparently Thompson was taking this very seriously. Aidan spent the next day setting up his workspace and beginning the delicate process of constructing a first-generation Arc Reactor from scratch.

Building the reactor without access to his original tools and fabrication equipment was challenging, but not impossible. He'd memorized every aspect of the design during his time working with Tony, and Ryan's engineering knowledge filled in most of the gaps. The hardest part was creating the palladium core without specialized equipment, but careful application of transmutation magic solved that problem.

By the third day, he was ready for the demonstration.

Aidan had invited Marshal Thompson, along with several key personnel: the Wei Tang triplets from Crimson Typhoon, Tendo Choi who handled most of the base's technical operations, General Scott from the PPDC oversight committee, and Mako Mori who was representing the Gipsy Danger restoration project.

They gathered in the lab around a circular platform where Aidan had mounted what looked like a sleek, silver-and-red combat suit. It was clearly inspired by Iron Man's design, but adapted for the materials and manufacturing capabilities available in this world.

"I thought we were here to see a reactor," Thompson said, frowning at the armored suit.

"You are. The reactor is mounted in the chest piece of this demonstration unit. But I figured showing you the practical applications would be more convincing than just handing you a glowing metal disc." Aidan walked up the steps to the platform. "With your permission, I'd like to show you exactly what this technology can do."

The suit opened along hidden seams, revealing an interior lined with sophisticated control systems and life support equipment. Aidan stepped inside, and the armor closed around him with a series of soft mechanical sounds. Immediately, the helmet's eye slits began glowing with white light.

"Beginning flight demonstration," Aidan's voice came from the suit's speakers, slightly distorted but clear. The armor shifted into a balanced pose, palms facing downward. "Initiating repulsors."

With a sharp hiss of displaced air, white light blazed from the suit's palms and boot soles. The armor lifted smoothly off the platform, rising to hover about ten feet above the astonished observers.

The flight demonstration was brief but incredibly impressive. Aidan executed a series of precise maneuvers - tight turns, rapid acceleration, perfect hovering - that would have been impossible with any conventional propulsion system. The reactor's energy output was smooth and consistent, with no visible exhaust or waste heat.

"Now for the weapons test," he announced, orienting toward a reinforced metal target that had been set up across the lab. The suit's right palm glowed brighter, energy visibly building in the repulsor array.

"BANG!" The repulsor blast hit the target with tremendous force, actually knocking the heavy steel plate completely off its mounting and sending it crashing into the far wall with a tremendous clang.

After completing another circuit around the amazed observers, Aidan settled the suit back onto its platform and stepped out. The chest piece opened with a soft hiss, revealing the Arc Reactor itself - a glowing ring of energy about the size of a hockey puck, pulsing with clean, contained power.

"This is what I built," he said, carefully removing the reactor and offering it to Marshal Thompson. "Clean fusion energy, no radioactive waste, power output roughly equivalent to a conventional nuclear reactor but in a package you can hold in your hands."

Thompson accepted the device with obvious reverence, turning it over in his hands while the other observers crowded around to get a better look. The Arc Reactor was warm to the touch, but not uncomfortably so, and the blue-white glow was mesmerizing.

"My God," Tendo whispered, adjusting his glasses as he studied the reactor's elegant construction. "If this technology is scalable..."

"It is," Aidan confirmed. "I can build larger versions for Jaeger applications, or smaller ones for personal equipment. The energy density is roughly a thousand times better than anything we're currently using."

General Scott was staring at the reactor with the expression of someone who'd just witnessed a miracle. "Do you understand what this means for the Jaeger program? Hell, what this means for human civilization?"

"I have some ideas," Aidan replied with a slight smile. "But first, I'd like to get approval for retrofitting Crimson Typhoon with a full-scale version. If we can prove the concept works in actual combat, I think the funding for expanded development will be much easier to secure."

Mako Mori had been quietly studying the demonstration suit, clearly fascinated by the engineering involved. "The power-to-weight ratio is incredible. A Jaeger equipped with this technology would be faster, stronger, and have virtually unlimited operational endurance."

"Exactly. And that's just the beginning." Aidan looked around at the assembled group, seeing genuine excitement and hope in their faces for the first time in months. "This is how we turn the tide against the Kaiju. Not by building bigger weapons, but by building smarter ones."

Marshal Thompson finally looked up from the Arc Reactor, his expression mixing wonder with determination. "I'll contact committee immediately. With this demonstration, I think I can get approval for whatever resources you need."

"There's one more thing," Aidan said. "I'm going to need a dedicated team and significantly expanded laboratory facilities. This technology is going to require careful development, and I can't do it alone."

"Whatever you need," Thompson replied without hesitation. "If this works, if we can really give our Jaegers this kind of advantage... we might actually win this war."

Plz throw powerstones.
