Chapter 84 - Chapter 84: Utaha Kasumigaoka and Eriri's Competition; Women Seeking Marriage Fortune Slips

Hearing that he could also travel to other dimensions, Haru was somewhat interested.

But not very much.

Wasn't it good to stay comfortably in this everyday world? Why go to other dimensions to find trouble?

In this world without extraordinary beings, Haru would soon become invincible.

But if he went to other worlds, his little bit of strength would, if not instantly drop to the bottom tier, not be much better.

What if other worlds had some omniscient and omnipotent beings who immediately detected Haru's special nature?

Haru wasn't stupid. With the system, he would eventually become invincible. There was absolutely no need to risk going to other worlds for adventure.

"Unless I have overwhelming power, then it would be different."

Haru pondered thoughtfully.

To say he wasn't interested in other worlds was impossible. Right now, staying in this everyday world, Haru was quite satisfied, but what if he got bored one day?

After all, he had embarked on the extraordinary path and was already a long-lived species.

Now he was still young, naturally finding everything in this world fresh, but what about after a hundred years, or even thousands or tens of thousands of years?

Haru didn't think he would always be satisfied with his current life.

When that time came, he might also want to find ways to seek other worlds containing extraordinary beings.

Of course, he definitely wouldn't go to dangerous worlds. Only after having invincible strength would he visit in the form of tourism to find some entertainment.

And right now he was quite satisfied with this world and had no thoughts of going to other worlds.

"Although I don't plan to go now, I should get my hands on that object that can analyze dimensional coordinates."

Haru's eyes sparkled.

He was quite curious about the object from Gabriel's world that the system mentioned. Eru Chitanda said Gab Shrine was very efficacious, and Haru had a premonition that the reason that shrine was so efficacious was probably due to the object the system mentioned.

Additionally, Haru had another question: if it was just an object that had fallen into this world, why was that shrine named Gab Shrine? And who exactly was the person who established this shrine?

For a moment, countless thoughts flashed through Haru's mind, but he understood that he couldn't get answers before visiting that shrine.

"I'll go check it out after school today."

Haru made up his mind to visit Gab Shrine after school. Not to mention that even without the influence of extraordinary objects, he still had to go there for his task.

Thinking of this, Haru looked at Eru Chitanda with a smile on his face: "Chitanda, your suggestion is good. I think I'll give it a try."

A hint of joy flashed in Eru Chitanda's purple pupils as she quickly said: "Then can you answer me now?"

"Yes." Haru nodded.

Upon hearing this, both Eriri and Utaha Kasumigaoka became nervous, constantly giving Haru meaningful looks.

Haru still acted as if he hadn't seen anything, chuckling: "I did it through magic."

With these words, all three were stunned.

Eriri and Utaha Kasumigaoka immediately breathed sighs of relief. They had been scared, but hearing this, they both relaxed.

"I thought this guy would really tell the truth. Turns out he was just deliberately teasing Chitanda." Utaha Kasumigaoka looked at Haru with approval.

She didn't believe Haru had told the truth, thinking he was just deliberately playing with Eru Chitanda.

Eru Chitanda puffed out her cheeks, clearly thinking along the same lines as Utaha Kasumigaoka, staring at Haru with dissatisfaction:

"Haru, that's not fair! I gave you a suggestion!"

"How is it unfair? I really did use magic to do it." Haru smiled slightly. He hadn't deceived Eru Chitanda at all. "If you don't believe it, that's your business."

"How could magic possibly exist in the world?" Eru Chitanda said indignantly, unable to help protesting: "Haru, I won't tell outsiders. I can guarantee it with the Chitanda family's honor."

"I'm sorry, but I haven't deceived you. I told the truth."

Haru smiled slightly: "You should have heard that dogs transmit mating signals through scent. The magic I used was to change Yamashita's scent, making those male dogs receive the wrong signals."

"Changing scent to achieve this?" A hint of realization flashed in Eru Chitanda's beautiful eyes. "Although I still think Haru is joking, this method could indeed accomplish such a thing."

The premise being that the magic Haru spoke of was real, but no matter how Eru Chitanda thought about it, she didn't believe magic existed in the world.

She stared intently at Haru, feeling that Haru must tell her the truth.

But she also understood that continuing to pester wouldn't get her answers. She had to find a way to make Haru trust her.

"Haru-kun, you said my suggestion was useful. Are you planning to try going to Gab Shrine?"

Eru Chitanda suddenly thought of a solution and immediately spoke.

Hearing Eru Chitanda's familiar way of addressing Haru as "Haru-kun," Utaha Kasumigaoka couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, and Eriri puffed out her cheeks even more.

They had such close relationships with Haru yet hadn't addressed him so intimately, but this person had just met Haru and was already bold enough to call him that, which really annoyed them both.

"That's right." Haru nodded.

"Then let me be your guide." Eru Chitanda's eyes lit up as she said excitedly, "I've learned a lot about Gab Shrine these past few days. I can be your tour guide."

"That would be troublesome for you." Haru didn't object to this—having a guide would be nice.

"Wait—Haru—"

Eriri hurriedly spoke up to stop them, her face somewhat unnatural as she said, "Don't we still have manga to create tonight?"

Utaha Kasumigaoka glanced at Eriri, naturally noticing that Eriri had changed how she addressed Haru. Previously, Eriri had always called him by his full name plus "-kun."

"How about another day?" Haru looked at the two apologetically, "I really want to visit that shrine today."

"Haru-kun."

Utaha Kasumigaoka spoke calmly, "I happen to want to see that shrine too. Why don't we all go together?"

Hearing Utaha Kasumigaoka's way of addressing him, Eriri couldn't help but glance at her.

"No problem, let's go together then." Haru smiled lightly, "Sawamura, do you want to come?"

"Hmph, seeing as I'm also very interested in that shrine, I'll accompany you all tonight." Eriri said with feigned displeasure, crossing her arms.

After school.

Haru's bag was filled with Buddhist scriptures borrowed from the library: the Diamond Sutra, Shurangama Sutra, Heart Sutra, and other texts.

Then he took a taxi with Eriri, Utaha Kasumigaoka, and Eru Chitanda to Gab Shrine.

Upon arriving at the destination, Haru could see from afar a long line stretching from the mountaintop down to the base.

In the distance, Haru could see a shrine that wasn't very large in scale, but the building materials were quite new, clearly recently constructed.

[Ding, object from another dimension detected]

At the same time, the system notification sounded. Haru immediately sensed the location of that object—it was right inside the shrine.

"These are all people here for fortune slips."

Eru Chitanda looked at the long line eagerly, "This shrine's fortune slips are very efficacious. Should we all go queue up together?"

Eriri's eyes lit up, seeming very interested, while Utaha Kasumigaoka remained noncommittal.

"If you want to queue, go ahead. I won't."

Haru shook his head. He was here to read Buddhist scriptures and search for that extraordinary object—he had no interest in drawing fortune slips.

"I'm not interested either."

Utaha Kasumigaoka said indifferently.

Eru Chitanda and Eriri were a bit disappointed but still gave up the idea of drawing fortune slips and stayed by Haru's side.

Haru headed directly toward the shrine.

However, when he passed by the front of the queue, he suddenly saw several familiar faces.

"Soon, soon! It's almost our turn!"

A boisterous voice shouted excitedly.

"Shizuka, I heard that for sincere people, this shrine will directly help guide them to their Prince Charming. I wonder if we'll have that luck."

A gentle voice was also somewhat excited.

"Of course we will! If I'm not sincere, then no one is!"

The boisterous voice said with complete confidence, her tone full of anticipation: "I have a feeling that I'll soon find my Prince Charming."

"Yes, yes, I have that feeling too!" The gentle voice also said with great excitement.

"Hiratsuka-senpai, Yamanaka-senpai, please calm down. You're teachers." Then another cool voice spoke from the side, somewhat displeased but only able to remind them helplessly due to their seniority.

Looking at the three beautiful older women at the front of the queue, who were attracting the attention of all the tourists behind them.

Haru's mouth twitched.

He hadn't expected to see these three people here.

Two of these three were Haru's acquaintances. The one with the loudest voice, who seemed most pitiful, was none other than Shizuka Hiratsuka.

The other acquaintance was the one reminding the two senpai to calm down—Mafuyu Kirisu.

The one in the middle, who seemed as pitiful as Hiratsuka, was someone Haru wasn't familiar with but recognized—Sawako Yamanaka, another woman desperate to marry.

"Is that Hiratsuka-sensei, Yamanaka-sensei, and Kirisu-sensei?"

The two women desperate to marry, completely disregarding their image, were immediately spotted by Eru Chitanda, Utaha Kasumigaoka, and Eriri.

All three had somewhat stunned expressions.

Hiratsuka and Yamanaka were highly respected by students at school, but now seeing them in such a pitiful state immediately left the three students dumbfounded.
