Bakugo shot across the space, regretting not wearing his costume for this stupid game.
The muscles of his hands were so strained that it felt like they would come exploding out of his skin, making him look like the Hero Killer: Stain.
The thought of that nasty bastard brought an angry grin to Bakugo's face.
"You stupid lizard!" he put both his hands forward. "Die!"
A BOOM rocked through the atmosphere, the explosion engulfing the entire path ahead of him.
"Look up!" Gran Torino's voice entered Bakugo's ears with an urgency.
Bakugo's head snapped up and found a green, scaly wrecking ball falling toward him, its massive hands raised high.
Another BOOM echoed as Spinner's Clone created a crater, chunks of earth flying in every direction.
"Dammit!" Bakugo cursed, barely dodging the attack using his feet. Did he see me?
He looked over his shoulder and found Gran Torino flying from one point in space to another, dodging Moonfish's blades.
That was already a great feat, given that the Pro was injured.
What was even more commendable was that Gran Torino was doing it while carrying an injured Tenya on his shoulder.
How is he… Bakugo thought, stunned, looking at the jets of air coming out of the Pro's feet. … moving like that?
He didn't want to admit it, but, for once, he felt jealous.
Gran Torino's movements were exactly like Bakugo was hoping to achieve, using his evolved Quirk.
Bakugo could fire explosions through the soles of his feet, while Gran Torino was firing jets of air. If he could study the Pro's moves, perhaps he could use his evolved Quirk in a much better way?
Bakugo had experience in aerial maneuvers using the explosions from his hands.
The explosions from his soles were different, though. Not only they differed in intensity, but he also could not use them with the same proficiency as his palms.
It was quite hard controlling the feet and soles in the same way one controlled one's hands and palms.
The only reason he had survived against Stain and Shigaraki during the USA incident was that he had been using his hands to counter the imbalance created by his legs, Bakugo had realized.
Surprisingly, that was also the reason that he had been failing to use either of his arms or legs to their fullest potential.
If I dedicate my legs to flying only… Bakugo thought, looking at Gran Torino. … and my hands for attacking, then…
[You should ask him to train you.] Singularity suggested.
"Stop…" Bakugo's entire face twisted, sparks crackling on his palms. "… reading my thoughts!"
[I wasn't…]
Another boom rang out as Bakugo fired an explosion toward the monstrous creature.
In the very next moment, his face paled.
Not only was the explosion itself the weakest of all the previous ones, but Spinner's Clone, who had been avoiding his attacks so far, also lunged right through the fire, appearing in front of him.
Afar, dashing left and right midair, Gran Torino gasped. "No!"
With a hiss, he shot toward Bakugo. Before he could have crossed even half the distance, though, hundreds more blades descended, becoming a labyrinth around him, blocking all paths.
"… Sorry…" Tenya said, falling off the Pro's back.
"Stop!" Gran Torino cried, trying to catch the boy.
But Tenya directed his legs away from Bakugo's direction as he fell and fired his engines beyond their maximum capacity.
A ROAR settled in the surroundings as he broke through all the blades, reaching Bakugo instantly.
Before he could grab Bakugo, though, a blade came from the sky and passed right through his stomach.
Time stagnated in that instant.
Dozens of blades were going for Gran Torino as he looked at the boys, aghast.
Even more blades were raining down on Tenya, blood splattering from his stomach.
And the soles of Bakugo's feet burned, as Spinner's Clone's massive fist appeared mere inches away from his head.
One moment more…
… and all would be lost.
Two incredible things happened suddenly, preventing the disaster from unfolding.
An icy star fell and hit Spinner's Clone like a bullet, instantly turning him into a frozen statue.
Simultaneously, all the blades coming out from Moonfish's mouth retracted before they could cut Gran Torino and Tenya into pieces.
Tenya's outstretched hand landed on a shocked Bakugo's shoulder, making both of them fall.
Behind them, Gran Torino used his Quirk just inches before crashing, his body covered in wounds and cuts.
Moonfish couldn't even fall, though.
A massive, black wyvern-like monster swooped out of the sky and grabbed it in its claws before… squeezing gently.
The Villain couldn't even scream and passed out, his eyes rolling back into his head.
On the ground, Bakugo couldn't look away from the frozen monster, swirls of frozen air lifting off it.
In one flash, the Villain he had been struggling against for so long was defeated by…
Bakugo looked over his shoulder and saw Luke, Todoroki, and a boy whose face was covered in tape sliding off a huge bird.
"… That's Nyx.." Tenya breathed out, wincing.
Todoroki carried Gran Torino on his shoulders, as Luke and the other guy rushed toward them and began healing Tenya, saying nothing.
Slowly, Bakugo looked up at Todoroki. "Oi…" he asked, standing up. "… What was that… Half-Half…"
Todoroki put down Gran Torino next to Tenya and looked at the frozen Villain. "That's the move we were working on…" he said, lifting the forefingers of both his hands. "Zero Bullet."
Bakugo stared at the two fingers, stunned.
Todoroki's right finger had gained a blue color, like frostbite. His left finger had gained a charred appearance of third-degree burn.
At one glance, Bakugo could tell that this wasn't a move Todoroki could use more than once.
But, feeling the chill on the back of his neck that the frozen Villain was radiating, he couldn't help but think if Todoroki even needed to use it more than once.
Bakugo also suddenly remembered his outburst when Luke, Todoroki, and Midoriya were discussing training using Delay. Birdshit had already gained another Quirk. And, somewhere in the back of his mind, Bakugo knew that damn nerd must have defeated a Villain by himself as well.
[You are right.] Singularity shared.
"Shut up!"
Everyone looked at a red-faced Bakugo, glaring at them.
"Boy…" Nyx's voice boomed. "… Just what would it take to please you?"
Ignoring her, and as hot blood surged to Bakugo's head, he suddenly sat down, looming over Gran Torino's face.
"Oi! Old fart!" Bakugo barked. "Teach me..."
Before he could finish his sentence, though, a CRACK split the space, deafening all ears.
