Chapter 208 - The Apostles of Mr. Fool!

Most of the guards ignored the doctor marching down the corridor.

Luke took a final turn where the prisoners' Cells finally began, after a quick ID verification, and walked up to Sam's Cell.

Samuel Abraham wasn't sleeping, as clear by the whispers coming out of the Cell.

Two guards were standing on either side of the Cell, carrying their rifles in their hands and an annoyance on their faces.

The farther one went inside the corridor, the tighter the security would become, though.

Dr. Sam had a simple Quirk, Flash Reading, letting him read three times as fast as a normal human being. Reinforced Alloy Bars and two guards were already a heavy enough security for him. That's why his Cell was nearest to the outer periphery of the Inner Zone.

For stronger Villains, especially the S-Class Villains at the deepest part of the facility, things were different.

First, there were metallic collars around their necks, hands, and ankles.

Not only did these Collars carry technology to detect activation of Quirk, but they also carried tiny syringes containing the Quirk Suppression Drugs along with a heavy dose of anesthesia. Once the collar detected any activation of Quirk or if the Full Lockdown Procedure was initiated, the Collars would instantly activate, ingesting the drug within the prisoners' systems.

This measure of security was backed by a Heavy Duty Reinforced Steel Bunker as the door of their Cells, along with automatic rifles and drones manning the area outside.

So, as Luke stood in front of Sam's Cell, he couldn't help but thank his luck that the guy didn't possess any absurd Quirk.

"I heard the patient is suffering from insomnia…"

Luke didn't have to even complete the sentence or use his Beyonder abilities on the guards. The moment they guessed that the doctor was here to shut the man up, they opened the Cell's door, letting him in.

One of the guards did mumble, closing the door behind the doctor. "Either the doctor makes him go to sleep, or I will shoot myself…"

The other guard frowned as well. "… But we don't have any Quirk…"

"…"

Inside the Cell, Luke looked at Sam, who ignored the doctor and kept staring at the ceiling.

Despite his low mumblings, Luke heard the words loud and clear.

"Praise be to Mr. Fool…" Sam was chanting. "… Praise be to Mr. Fool…"

Luke smiled and sat down on a stool next to Sam's bed. "You can stop chanting now…"

Sam obviously ignored the comment. But as he heard the doctor's next words, he instantly sat up on the bed, his eyes widening with glee and wonder.

"… Mr. Fool has listened to your prayers," Luke said, taking out a black clown mask and putting it on his face. "The Apostles of Mr. Fool need your service now more than this… prison."

Fog filled the corridors, and black uniform-wearing guards rushed to catch the rogue nurse.

However, with every other step, they kept tumbling. Loud noises from impossible places kept distracting them. And the rifles they carried kept going off, shooting out syringes at each other.

Soon, as fog made its way to the deeper Cells, even the drones joined the guards, doing a much better job… for a while.

Freezing Rays shot out of the fog and froze their legs and internal circuits, making them experience a malfunction. Those who resisted freezing experienced electric shocks, which resulted in the same outcome.

Even the CCTV cameras, equipped with infrared vision, that were keeping an eye on the nurse's body within the fog, got frozen, losing all sight.

In the Central Tower's Control Room, the confidence that Leya possessed moments before had vanished.

She was a master of figuring out Quirks' nature and coming up with a strategy to counter them.

Yet, biting her lips, Leya found herself utterly outmaneuvered by the intruder. It was as if… the girl possessed not one but multiple Quirks… and had a complete mastery over them.

"… Something's wrong," Leya pointed out. "We have been… tricked."

The operator next to her nodded, his face paling as well. "Should I initiate the Lockdown Procedure, Ma'am. If we miss the window, and something happens…"

Leya frowned, looking at the Smartwatch on her wrist.

The Warden still had not contacted her. Which meant…

"Let's wait a minute more…" Leya said, internally cursing Alex. Where the fuck are you, old man?!

Iron Mentor stood at the foot of the Central Tower, a humongous door lying in front of him.

There weren't even guards here, as the door itself was impenetrable. Iwao had a feeling that, other than the Main Entrance, this could be the only place where they had installed another Quirk Factors Scanning Device, despite what Dr. Blessed had learned from the sniper.

Because behind these doors lay the biggest roadblock — Spatial Barrier!

None had stopped Iron Mentor from reaching this point. However, that had never been an issue for him.

The issue was entering the room and disabling the device.

Iwao walked up to the door's side, where there was a touch panel showing a number pad on the green monitor.

To open the door, Iwao needed an ID Card, which he already had, and a six-digit code, which only the top people of the Detention Center knew.

If it had been before, when he was Knuckleduster, then Iwao could have never gone beyond this hurdle.

Now, as Iron Mentor…

Closing his eyes and boiling his Spirituality within, the Swindler combined his Superior Observation and Theft abilities, pushing them to the extreme.

He lifted his finger slowly, his vision blurring.

Instead of his finger, impressions began appearing on the green monitor itself, as if someone had pressed the touchpad with oil-stained fingers.

Following his spiritual intuition, Iron Mentor began pressing on the numbers one after another.

In one way, this was no different from Swindling. However, the one getting swindled here was not a person, but an electronic system, lacking any spirituality.

Yet, as the green screen flashed green, and the massive doors opened from the middle, Iwao got feedback from his own spirituality that he could have never imagined getting from a person.

Smiling, Iron Mentor walked inside the huge hall.

And the moment he walked in, he came to an abrupt halt, his smile dying.

Because the massive hall didn't have any machine whatsoever, and it would have been empty…

… if it wasn't for the huge old man standing in the middle of it.
