The demonstration arena had been erected in the sanctuary's central courtyard. Tiered seating surrounded a circular platform where the marked students would display their abilities. The Council occupied the highest tier, with Councilor Vera positioned prominently beside Elder Thane. Regional Alphas filled the remaining seats, their expressions ranging from curious to hostile. Every eye would be on my students, judging whether marked wolves deserved sanctuary or extermination.
I stood at the arena's edge with Darius on my right and Maya on my left. The political bond with Darius hummed with cold efficiency, while Maya's presence beside me provided the warmth I needed to stay grounded. This was the moment everything hinged upon.
