Well, you did it." Yang said.
"You waited patiently and stuck it out." Guts said.
"Welcome to Signal!" Both fifth-teen year old's said at the same time. Behind them was the small, thirteen-year-old form of Ruby. She was literally hopping with excitement.
"Yes! What're we waiting for!? Let's get to class!" The young girl said as she dashed through the entrance. Yang and Guts exchanged amused looks before following her inside. Having been at Signal for over 2 years now, Yang and Guts were very familiar with the building. They led Ruby to her locker and showed her where all her classes were. They walked Ruby to her first class and told her they'd see her during lunch.
"You think she'll be fine?" Yang asked as she and Guts walked down the hall to their first class of the day. She knew Ruby was old enough to take care of herself for a few hours, but it was her job as an older sister to worry about her.
"This is what she's wanted for a long time Yang, she'll be fine." Guts reassuringly said. They entered their first class of the day, which was a weapons workshop with Qrow. As the name suggested, the classroom was a workshop filled with all the tools students would need to build their weapons. They quickly sat down in the front row as Qrow walked in, weapon in hand.
"This year, you'll all be forging your own weapons. Remember, your weapon reflects who you are, it's an extension of yourself. As such, copying some other hunter's weapon part by part is not a very good idea." Qrow said. "Before we start any of the actual building, you kids will have to draw your own schematics. We'll also have to go over safety procedures and all that, but all you really need to know is to point the part that's either pointy or on fire away from everyone else." Qrow finished. He passed out paper so students could do some sort of rough draft before finalizing their design on a computer.
"Still don't know what you're going to build?" Yang asked, not looking up from the firing mechanism she was drawing.
"Nah, Qrow helped me figure out what I'm gonna build." Guts said as he started drawing mechanisms and gears at a fast rate.
"So, what're you building?" Yang asked as she briefly looked up from her sketch.
"Gonna have to wait and find out." Guts said with a smile. Yang gave him an annoyed look before going back to her drawing, as Guts recalled his conversation with Qrow
...2 Weeks Earlier...
"So?" Qrow asked. In front of him Guts was experimenting with Qrow's weapon.
"The weight isn't a problem if that's what you're asking." Guts said as he swung the scythe form of Qrow's weapon. The older hunter had to admit, Guts was surprisingly good at wielding it even though he's never had any experience using a scythe.
"I can see why you choose your weapon, but it's honestly not really my style." Guts said as he changed the scythe back into a sword.
"With your strength, even a knife would make mincemeat of any Grimm," Qrow said as he nodded in understanding.
"Besides, I think my great sword will serve fine." Guts said as he presented the sword. Qrow sees him effortlessly performing strikes impressed by the level of strength he possess, however he notices the sword's poor condition with scruff marks and nicks "yeah that goods and what not but, it will mean nothing if it is in poor condition." Qrow stated as Guts looked at his sword and let out a sigh. The sword was already rough but now he has to find a solution either find a blacksmith or get a new sword.
"Yeah I know but we could worry about that later. I still need some sort of firearm and I'm not interested in getting a transformable weapon if it means to sacrifice the weapons integrity so I'll make due in carrying two weapons however I need to ..." Guts said as he trail off in thought
"You're getting close, kid. What do you think you're going for, in terms of firearms?" Qrow asked. Guts gave it some thought.
"It's definitely going to be high caliber, or something akin to the power of one," Guts said. "Low caliber won't do jack-shit against most Grimm. I also know it's going to be semi-automatic." Guts said as he made a gun shape with his hand. "I know I don't want anything as bulky as a sniper rifle, so something compact like a pistol." Guts said as he placed his head in his hands. "My head is starting to hurt." The boy complained.
"You're not as far from your target weapon as you think." Qrow said as he reassuringly patted Guts on the back. "You have all the ideas there, you just don't know how to execute them." Qrow said before an idea came to him. "Wait right here." Qrow said as he entered the house. He exited a couple minutes later with a stack of something.
"Look through these." Qrow said as he handed Guts the pile.
"What are they?"
"Ruby's weapon magazines." Qrow answered. Realization dawned on Guts face as he quickly looked through each magazine.
"Maybe this... combine it with that... no that won't work... this probably could... but it'd be too awkward to wield... hmmm." Guts paused as he looked at something in particular. "This should do just fine." Guts said with a satisfied smile. Qrow looked over his shoulder in curiosity. Guts pointed out what he was going to do.
"Now that is going to be a good weapon, especially when you put dust in it." Qrow said as he smiled in pride at what Guts had been able to come up with. "See? That wasn't so hard." The older hunter commented.
"This wasn't the hard part, Qrow. The hard part is going to be learning to fight with it." Guts said as he picked up the magazines and took them to Ruby's room.
...Present Time...
"Dust goes in here... trigger there... and I'm done." Guts said to himself as he inspected his diagrams. Now that he knew what he was building, Guts didn't have any trouble designing it. Satisfied with what he had come up with, he called Qrow over to inspect it.
"Yep, seems good enough. Sure you don't want a scythe? You could really wreck shit up if you had one." Qrow said as he handed Guts his diagrams.
"Maybe when I'm older." Guts said as put his diagrams away. Seeing that he had a few minutes left before class ended, Guts took a closer look at all the tools in the workshop. Woodworking, Forge, saws, and power tools, Guts mentally checked off. He grinned with excitement when he realized he had everything he needed. He quickly called Qrow over again.
"Mind if I work on a little side project?" Guts asked.
"What kind of project?" Qrow said in response.
"It's not a second set of weapons if that's what you're wondering. It's just something I've really wanted to build for a long time now." Guts said, deliberately not giving away too much information.
"All the tools and supplies are for student use, so I don't see why not. As long as you aren't building some mass destruction device, go nuts." Qrow said with a shrug of his shoulders.
"Can I bring in my own supplies?" Guts asked.
"Yep, now if you'll excuse me, another student needs me." Qrow said as he gave Guts a fist bump before walking to the student who had his hand raised. Guts took out another piece of paper and started designing at an even faster rate than he had done with his weapon.
"What's your side project?" Yang asked, having heard Guts and Qrow's conversation.
"That, my friend Yang, is also a secret." Guts said. Yang lightly scowled in annoyance.
"Can you at least give me a hint?" She asked.
"Only judeau and I can use." Guts cryptically said. Knowing that Guts wasn't going to say anymore, Yang quickly finished her diagrams and designs; Qrow approved of her designs a few seconds later. Most students took at least two days to finish their diagrams. Yang, on the other hand, had already had most of her weapon planned out, so it was fairly easy for her to put it on paper. After deciding on what he was going to build, Guts did some intense studying during those two weeks to be able to finish his design early. The bell rang a few minutes later, and Yang and Guts separated to go to different classes.
"After this, you're going to have aura Yang." Guts said in the hallway.
"I know right?" Yang said as she skipped a little out of sheer happiness. She was going to her combat class next, which meant her aura was about to be unlocked.
"Let's do some sparring after school." Guts said.
"Definitely. Hope you're ready to have your ass kicked." Yang said as she adopted a cocky smile.
"What makes you think that you can accomplish what even Signal's best couldn't?" Guts said. He quickly bid Yang farewell and went to his class, which was basic Grimm studies.
________________________________________________________________________________LUNCH
"... and that, Ruby is how I beat a room full of fools." Guts said as he finished his tale. He took a bite out of a pizza in front of him.
"Really?" Ruby asked in wonder. "How did you manage to beat 15 students at once?" The red-haired girl asked in awe.
"It wasn't as hard as you think. They weren't very good at teamwork." Guts answered, as though the simple statement that he was Guts answered why he beat a group of students. Guts then finished the rest of his pizza. He had just begun working on the turkey sandwich to his left when Yang plopped herself down at their table.
"Where've you been?" Guts asked through a mouthful
"I caused some problems in Grimm studies, so I had to stay after to talk to the teacher. "Yang said as she took a sip of her milk. "Some kids thought that all Grimm were born with bone armor, but I know for a fact the young ones don't have any." Yang said upon seeing the questioning gazes of her friends. They were all briefly reminded of the first time they ever met, and the first ever Grimm Guts had killed.
"The other kid doesn't believe me, so we start an argument. It got to the point where we yelled at each other in the middle of class." Yang finished as she reached over and took the other half of Guts' sandwich.
"Only the first day of the year and you've already caused problems, Yang." Ruby whined in exasperation.
"TCH. I got into a fist fight with my professor on my first day." Guts nonchalantly said. Before Ruby could ask Guts to explain, Yang spoke up.
"Enough about us. How's your first day going Rubes?" Yang asked.
"It's... okay." Ruby said as she rubbed her arm. "Don't get me wrong. The kids are nice enough, and the teachers are polite. It's just that... I guess I was expecting a little more excitement." Ruby finished.
"By excitement you mean more weapons, aura, and combat?" Yang asked. Ruby nodded in agreement. "Don't worry my dear sister. What you're feeling is exactly what I felt my first day. Things won't pick up for a while Ruby, so might as well get used to this." Yang said as she patted her younger sister on the back.
"It's so boring though. How'd you deal with the boredom, Guts?" Ruby asked.
"I'm the wrong person you should be asking Ruby." Guts said. "I have been fighting students older than me since day one. I was never bored." Guts said as he scanned the table for any more food.
"I'll tell you what I did, Rubes. I stuck it out. You've got three years ahead of you before you get aura and a weapon. Whining won't make time go faster." Yang said as she gave Ruby a sympathetic smile.
"I guess being a huntress-in-training won't always be action packed and exciting." Ruby sadly said. "If it'll help me be a hero, then I'll stick out like you said Yang." Ruby finished, adopting a content smile.
"Hey guys mind if we eat here" the trio turn to see Judeau, Pinpin, Gaston, and Corkus, with food trays on their hands. "No come right ahead" Guts said as Yang nodded, and Ruby looked at them. They sat down, Judeau sitting next to Yang and the other sitting on the opposite side of the trio.
"So, what's up with you guys?" Yang asked, turning to Judeau.
Oh, nothing much only that we just finished getting out of class"
"Really just now" Yang question with a raised eyebrow
"yeah, the teacher was explaining the upcoming field trip for our class, hey Guts aren't you going as well?
"...oh yeah, it's supposed to be some guard duty for us as "hunters", right?" Guts said
" It's not just guard duty Guts. It is a celebratory picnic from the head political figures! it a chance for us to show our skills and a chance to work directly under them" Gaton exclaim, prompting corkus to speak up.
"Yeah, also a chance for us to not be in the boonies dealing with grimms but instead having a cushy gig." Guts can't help but think back to the "new job" that Gambino promised for the whole camp, only for him to kill off all the mercenaries that were following Griffith at the time. He still doesn't know what the job was about.
" Oh yeah, the one hosted in vale it'll be on the weekend so we could go, right Yang?" Ruby excitedly asked upon realization
"Yeah, i see why not, but it sucks that Guts won't be with us... in terms of hanging out with us" yang stated
"Oh, right sorry Guts" Ruby apologized think that guts will feel left out
" it's alright Ruby I don't mind"
"But how did you guys end up being the event security" Ruby asked, Gaston quickly answer eagerly " oh that because we were in a competition against another class last year, and the "captain" here score us a win" he explain as he reach over to the other side and shake Guts shoulder, the rest nodded in agreement all except for Corkus.
"(hmph) Please, it not like he carried the whole team. he just went off and did his own thing"
" True but we were pinned down and he provide us a perfect distraction to flank them" judeau explain with Pinpin grunting in acknowledgement
"Is that true Guts" ruby gasped
Yeah, but it wasn't a big deal-"
"Yeah, it wasn't especially when i dealt the finishing blow to the leader" Cockus claimed as he pumped his own chest with a smug face.
"Corkus you were at the rear and that wasn't the leader he was the ram faunus with the purple armor" Gaston said, as Corkus smug face fell flat as he heard the claim
"What"
"That ram faunus was the head honcho not the guy in gold " judeau chuckled seeing corkus face
"What?"
"That ram faunus was the head honcho not the guy in gold " judeau chuckled seeing corkus face. "What i've been telling people all summer, that I scored the victory for us AARUG-.... Wait a sec I could still flip this around. Yeah! YEAH!! If I thought that I took down the leader, so did everyone else. Ha! i still came up top" Corckus boasted a Judeau shook his head while grinning at corkus, Pinpin followed the same without changing his stoic expression, Gaston has a bewildered look at his friend, yang however has a crossed face of annoyance due to Corkus boasting, Guts did not care for much of what was being said and ruby took in all of the reaction around her.
She just met them but already has an understanding of everyone. She notes that Guts and Corkus are different. how corkus is someone that is 'the last one in and first one out' type and guts is the opposite. She also thinks back at all the feats that Guts has done and realized he never bragged about his accomplishment, only stating them to prove a point, but can show that capable of doing them and his strength is a testament of that. But as for corkus he seems to be the one who lies about his victories and seeks praise from others, if he was ever to rise for the call of duty he'll most likely just flake out. She could only look at the guy in disappointment.
Having enough of the smug corkus, Yang spoke up " will if you didn't then who did take the leader down then who did?"
"Oh, it was guts" Judeadu explain cause corkus to go wide eye
" Really how?" Ruby gasped
"When guts took his charge, he literally faced off with the leader first by, get this. By grabbing on to the horns and cramming his face to his knee knocking him out quick" he said snapping his finger to imply the speed, the girls slightly cringe at the description with ruby looking toward Guts
" Is that true Guts?"
" Yes, that guy spotted me charging in and did the same, only using his head to ram me. So, I took the chance and kneed his face" Guts explain " HA! not only that but the rest of the team were so shocked that Guts went on and attacked the rest giving us the chance to flank them." Judeau finished of the story " and since then we call him the "captain" for taking charge at the enemy" Gaston said with a smile on his face
"...without him we would have surely lost" Pinpin said getting everyone's attention
BAH!! All he did was break formation and went off to do his own he didn't think about us!!" Corkus shot back " hell you must think your better than me but your nothing more than a coinciding as-"
"Shut up, Corkus you got no room to talk here, it's not like you could stack up to Guts either way" Yang defended Guts, as she saw him do or say nothing to him. After that Corkus shot up from the table.
"Fine then I don't need to take this from anyone but since we're revealing all these things" he looked at Guts, dead in the eye " the first time I saw you. I never liked you...That face... Like you're in some kinda agony or somethin'!! Like you're the only one walkin' some path of profound sufferin' that no one understands!! Don't be so proud!!!" He then proceeds to flip his food tray to Guts who lets the act happen barely reacting, this not only fumes corkus but yang as she was about to launch at Corkus, only to be stopped by Guts, grabbing on to her wrist. As for corkus he left stomping off.
After That the table stayed quiet. Judeau seems deep in thought, pinpin was hard to read, Gaston seems apologetic, and Ruby is sad about the situation. As for Guts and Yang, she was mad at both Corkus and Guts, for Guts he did not do anything or say anything being allowed to be talked down to and ridiculed for his accomplishments. As for Corkus, what is there to be said is that he was an asshole. She was about to say something but noticed that Guts hadn't let go of her wrist. She does not object to it, but someone has to say something. But for guts he was staring at the direction where Corkus walked off, he took in everything that was said to him and wonder if he had some truth in it. He knew that they had some difference but ultimately always saw corkus as a classmate and a fighter.
"Sorry about Corkus guys he's always full of himself, but sometimes... he goes a bit far" Gaston apologized
" It fine Gaston let him be" Guts said prompting for yang to pull her hand away and talk
"No, it's not ok he just undermine accomplishments, how could you be ok with that" Yang retorted
"It doesn't matter he could say what he pleases, it only matters whether or not it true" Guts reply, see that as a transition Judeau change the topic "well anyways i heard that you'll be building your weapons, right" Ruby perked up upon hearing this
Yeah, I'm making a shotgun gauntlet and guts... Want to keep it a surprise " yang said in disinterest
"Yeah, well what about you judeau what's your weapon " ruby asked as judeau grin as he reached to his bag and pull out an arm bracer with a belt around lined with multicolor knives "it called the Master of None" he puts it on and the belt rotates a little, as he flicks his wrist, and a knife shoots out inti his palm. " The bracers dispense throwing knifes and dust infuse knives it will also shoots out a knife from the other side for a quick shot
"... mine is a a maze called "hail Caesar" it converts to an AA-12" Pinpin said wanting to change the tense atmosphere
"Well, if everyone is share might as well tell mine"He pulls out his weapon, which was a short sword " it called the "falcon raider" and it nothing fancy it transforms to an action lever shotgun"
"Ohmygodthoseweaponsaresocool. Dotheyhaveanysecondardfeatureorarethey_" ruby could not keep it in together any longer as she wanted to talk about potential upgrades the rest of the time was spent with laugh and change of attitude.
...Later That Day...
"Show me! Show me! Show me!" Ruby commanded as she, Guts, and Yang walked home.
"Alright Ruby. Guts?" Yang asked as she adopted a proud smile. Guts raised his fist and lightly, for him, punched Yang in the face. The blonde-haired girl took a few steps to the right from the force of the blow.
"Ta-Da!" Yang said as she showed her face, which was completely devoid of any damage. "Man, aura is the best." Yang commented as she made a fist and jabbed at the air. "Hope you're ready to lose Guts." Yang mocked as she lightly slugged Guts' arm.
"Yang, I've had over six years of experience using aura. Not only have I technically stalemated a professor, but I also regularly fight students who are older than me and win, even without a weapon." Guts said as he touched his insignia on his shoulder with pride. "Do you really think you'll beat me on your first try?" Guts asked, giving Yang a smirk that just screamed confidence and power.
Yang, for some reason she couldn't fathom, found herself blushing ever so slightly when Guts smiled at her. I did it again, what the Hell is going on with me? The blonde-haired girl silently asked herself. This hadn't been the first time that Guts had done something that made her blush. Why it made her blush, she didn't have the slightest idea.
"Yang?" Ruby asked.
"Huh?" Yang said in confusion, having just been brought out of her musings.
"You haven't said anything for like the past twenty seconds." Ruby answered.
"Oh... uh... let's just get home. I want to fight Guts." Yang said as she tried to cover up her embarrassment. Guts and Ruby nodded and said nothing else all the way home. Once home, the trio put their stuff away before going out to the backyard for Guts and Yang's sparring match.
"Ready?" Yang asked.
"Whenever you are." Guts said with a grin. Yang tensed before rushing at Guts. Right off the bat, Guts could tell Yang wasn't used to her new strength and speed. The blonde-haired girl made a fist and swung at Guts' face. The black eyed boy easily telegraphed the attack and moved backwards to avoid the hit. Yang quickly brought up her other fist, which Guts easily dodged. The young girl tried to do a kick but lost her balance in the process. She stumbled as she tried to regain said balance while Guts smiled in amusement.
"Kicking isn't really your thing. I'd stick to punches if I were you." Guts said as Yang charged him again. To someone of Guts' caliber, Yang might as well have been moving in slow motion. The fithteen-year-old boy evaded each attack sent at him with ease. Understandably, Yang grew slightly frustrated.
"Stop moving so I can hit you!" Yang said as another one of her strikes was dodged.
"Careful what you wish for." Guts said as he completely stopped. Yang took her chance and threw the hardest punch she could at Guts midsection. The black-eyed boy didn't even flinch when Yang connected.
"Ow," Yang muttered as she retracted her hand and massaged it. "What are you, made of bricks or something?" She complained.
"Told you to be careful." Guts said as he walked over to where Yang was still massaging her fist.
"I thought having my aura unlocked would at least give me a chance." Yang said as she plopped herself on the ground. Guts sat down and joined her. For those wondering, Ruby had gone back inside to get refreshments for the three of them.
"Don't feel bad Yang. You could probably do better if you had a weapon. Most hunters fight with them for a reason, you know." Guts reassuringly said.
"You don't need a weapon." Yang pointed out.
"That's true, but I'm getting one anyway." Guts said in response. Seeing that Yang was still somewhat sad about her loss, Guts continued talking. "Listen, you've only had aura for a day. Don't feel too bad if you couldn't beat the best student at Signal on your first try. You know what they say, second or third time's the charm." Guts said as he laughed lightly.
"Somehow I feel like it's going to take me more than three tries to beat you." Yang said as she laughed along with Guts, having gotten over her loss.
"I have juice." Ruby declared as she exited the back door of her house. Juice Boxes could be seen being clutched in her arms. "Drink." Ruby commanded as she handed Guts and Yang a juicebox each. Ruby then sat down on the grass next to Guts and proceeded to drink her juice. Not wanting to disappoint Ruby, Yang and Guts drank their juice as well.
____________________________________________________________________________1 Week Later
"There, done." Guts said to himself as he checked the piece of metal he was working with. To his right Yang could be seen working on the trigger mechanism of her gauntlets. This involved putting them on and punching the air to check the amount of force needed to fire bullets. All around them various students could be seen working on weapons of their own.
"Now I just have to wait for the cartridges, and I'll be all set to put it together." Guts said to himself. "How goes the trigger mechanism Yang?" Guts asked.
"I'm having a little trouble figuring out just how much force I need to make it fire." Yang said as she punched with her gauntlet again.
"Being a shotgun gauntlet, your weapon is going to have a lot of recoil. I think that more force would help you compensate for that." Guts helpfully said.
"That's actually a good point. Thanks Guts." Yang said as she started recalibrating her weapon.
"Anytime." Guts said as he got up and went to check up on the laser cutter. Before he could reach the forging area, he was stopped by one of the female students. This student was named Lapis, and her attire seemed to complement her name. She had bright blue hair along with bright blue eyes. She was wearing a deep blue mini skirt with an orphan blue belt. She had on a short sleeve button up shirt, also blue, over a baby blue blouse. In simple terms, she was wearing a lot of blue.
"Hi Guts," Lapis said.
"Hey Lapis." Guts greeted back.
"Listen, I'm having a little trouble with something. Could you help me out?" Lapis asked as she idly twirled her fingers. This got Yang's attention. Lapis was well known among the female students for being a bit bolder than most girls in her class. What are you planning? Yang thought to herself as she gazed at Lapis suspiciously.
"What do you need?" Guts said.
"Follow me." Lapis said as she led Guts to her workstation. "I need to take very precise measurements of this." Lapis said as she gestured to a thick bar of metal about a meter in length. "The table is getting in the way though. Could you lift it for me while I measure it?" Lapis asked as she grabbed a tape measurer.
"Sure." Guts said as he reached for the bar of metal. To his surprise, the bar was much heavier than it looked. He grabbed each end with one hand and lifted it up. Though Guts could lift much more than what the bar of metal weighed, he still found himself having to use more effort than he thought. This made sense as Lapis had purposefully chosen the heaviest, densest metal the workshop had.
"Could you hold it out a little more?" Lapis asked. Guts complied and held the bar at arm's length. Lapis took a moment to admire Guts forearm muscles and biceps before ducking under the bar and getting into the space between the bar and Guts. From here, she practically pressed against Guts. Yang scowled as she realized what Lapis had planned.
"You have enough room to measure?" Guts asked, completely unaware of Lapis' ulterior motives.
"Yeah." Lapis said, a faint blush on her face. This is pretty much a hug. I'm hugging Guts Lapis mentally told herself as she took measurements at an agonizingly slow pace. Yang started being a little more... forceful in her calibrations. She also may or may not have punched in Lapis' general direction and fantasized about beating her face in. This did not go unnoticed by a certain alcoholic uncle.
"What do we have here?" Qrow told himself from the front of the class. "Looks like my little firecracker is starting to question her feelings towards my dear son." Qrow muttered to himself as he took a sip of the mug of coffee mixed with liquor on his desk. Oh, I am going to have a blast teasing Yang once she realizes she has a crush on Guts. Speaking of Yang...
Why. Does. This. Bother. Me. So. Much!? Yang mentally screamed to herself as she punched the air harder and harder. At this point, she had all the data she needed to calibrate the trigger mechanism, but punching the air was the only thing keeping her from yelling at Lapis. Yes, the way Lapis had manipulated Guts was not nice, but she technically wasn't doing anything wrong.
Yang was experiencing a myriad of feelings at once. Anger, disgust, and annoyance she got. What threw her off was that she was feeling a twinge of... jealousy? That couldn't be right. Why would Yang be jealous? It wasn't a mistake though. This was the exact same way Yang had felt about Guts having his aura unlocked years before her. There was no doubt about it. Yang was jealous. The blonde-haired girl did not take too kindly on this revelation. For the rest of the day Yang was irritable and easily angered. She wouldn't even talk to Guts on the way home. She didn't even return her father's greeting. Yang just went straight to her room, leaving a confused Taiyang to talk to Qrow.
"Why is Yang so agitated?" Taiyang asked. Qrow smirked in response.
"Something happened at school that really bugged her." Qrow said as he thought back to what he had seen in class.
"What happened?" The blonde-haired man asked.
"Don't worry about it Tai. All you need to know is that Guts has been attracting a lot of attention at school." Qrow said as he chuckled.
...1 Week Later...
"Hurry up and show us!" Ruby practically yelled. The thirdteen year old was literally bouncing with excitement. She, along with Qrow, Taiyang, Guts, and Yang were currently in their backyard.
"Introducing Ember Cilica!" Yang announced as the yellow bracelets on her forearms extended into shotgun gauntlets. Qrow gave her a small clip of shotgun shells to show off her weapon.
"Remember, point it away from us." The older hunter reminded as he took a couple steps backwards. Yang nodded and aimed at the tree line.
"Ready?" Yang teasingly asked, purposely drawing out the moment to annoy Ruby.
"Yes! Shoot!" Ruby impatiently said. Yang cocked her fist back and threw a punch at the tree line. A loud bang echoed throughout the vicinity as the first few trees were shredded to pieces. Ruby practically had stars in her eyes as she gazed at the destruction.
"And that was just regular ammo. Wait till I get some dust in this baby." Yang bragged as she expelled the empty shell. "Wanna see something cool Ruby?" Yang asked her starstruck sister.
"Yes please." Ruby whispered. This had to be one of the greatest days of her life. Yang grinned as she jumped and punched downwards. The recoil sent her rocketing into the air.
"Woohoo!" Yang exclaimed once she had reached the end of her velocity.
"Need me to catch you?" Guts called up as Yang started falling back down.
"I got it." Yang said. She fired a couple more shotgun rounds downwards to slow her momentum down to the point where she landed safely on the ground.
"Well?" Yang asked the group in front of her.
"That was the greatest thing I've ever seen." Ruby whispered as she kept staring at Yang's gauntlets
"I really am proud of you Yang. You've made a fine weapon." Taiyang said as he ruffled his daughter's hair, much to Yang's chagrin.
"Dad, you're messing up my hair." Yang complained as she moved her head away from her father's hand.
"Well, we got one kid down. Now it's the other kid's turn." Qrow said as he gestured towards Guts.
"Yeah, what is your weapon Guts?" Ruby asked. The black-eyed boy hadn't said anything about his weapon the entire time he was forging it. Even Yang didn't know what he had built, only that it had a couple of blades.
"I've kept you all waiting long enough." Guts said as he went inside to get his weapon. He stopped by his room and took his weapons out of their hiding place. He strapped it on and went downstairs but waited a few seconds as he could hear everyone else talking outside.
"Wait, so you know what Guts weapon is?" He could hear Yang ask.
"Of course, I helped him decide what it would be." Qrow said. Though he couldn't see it, Guts was willing to bet that Qrow was smiling in pride. Not wanting to keep them waiting any longer, Guts opened the door and walked outside. Any other conversation was immediately quelled.
"Well?" Qrow asked, his smile growing bigger. Guts put his hand on the side of his lap, and pulled out a gun, as it sprung open revealing to be a handheld repeater crossbow. The gun itself vaguely resembled medieval firearm but were mostly of modern design. The color scheme was a flat black color with silver lining on the arms with Guts insignia engraved on the handle and with silver outline
"And this isn't all" Guts then loaded a cartridge on top of the crossbow and fired at the tree, the bolt went halfway into the tree, but the impact caused the surface area to explode just by sheer force
"That's some pretty heavy firepower for a relatively small crossbow." Tai commented as he gazed at the trees Guts had destroyed.
"Oh yeah, the recoil can be pretty intense. Luckily, I have more than enough strength to manage." Guts said
"Is that all it can do?" Ruby asked as Guts fastened the gun to his side with the arms collapsing and folding itself.
"Yes. I wanted a weapon small and powerful so i sacrifice the alt-mode so I could make it powerful and my primary one will be my sword so there that" he explains
"Huh, I see well I could respect that" Tai
"Eh, so that it there is no transformation or no weapon swap or anything" Yang said in confusion, as she saw Guts working on blades near the laser cutter. If it doesn't transform what were the
"Nope"
"Aww I wanted to see something cool" ruby pouted kicking the dirt in disappointment
"Cool huh. Well get a load of this" he said as held up a crossbow bolt with dust particle embedded in it, he pulled out his crossbow and loaded the bolt in the chamber then took aim and firing it to the trees. He the fired the bolt, as it travels it turns into a fire spear, picking up speed and piercing through four tree leaving burning gashes.
"So cool!!!" ruby exclaim with stars in his eyes looking at the fiery destruction
Yes, that cool and all but let's not burn the whole forest" tai said looking at the same directions as Ruby
"Don't worry, I got this." Qrow said as he took out an ice crystal and threw it at the fire. He quickly turned his weapon into its gun form and shot the ice crystal. Every tree on fire was immediately covered in ice as the explosion rocketed outwards.
"I can also use dust. That just lets me fire a bunch of dust bolts." Guts commented as he stowed his weapon away. "Well, that was my weapon. Hope you liked it."
"It's amazing!" Ruby exclaimed. "The dust was so cool, and the guns are awesome!" The silver eyed girl said as she ran up to Guts. "Can I hold one please?" Ruby asked as she gave Guts the puppy dog face.
"Ask your dad first." Guts said. He had no problem with letting Ruby hold his weapon. Heck, he'd even let her fire it if it was up to him. Tai, however, had final say in the matter.
"Can I dad?" Ruby called out.
"Just holding. You can't fire at anything." The blonde-haired man called back. Guts unstrapped the crossbow from his side and flipped it, so he was grabbing the barrel. He then offered the gun to Ruby, handle first. It was all Ruby could do to keep from squealing with expiration. She grabbed the hilt of the gun.
"Your gun is really heavy." Ruby said as she used both hands to pick it up. Even then, it was obvious the gun was too much for Ruby to handle. Guts quickly took the gun away from Ruby, so that she won't hurt herself from just carrying it.
"It has to be Ruby. I need to pierce the skulls of the Grimm with one shot. The frame needs to be able to take the recoil." Guts said as he holstered the crossbow. "So, what do you think?" Guts asked as he looked at Qrow, Tai, and Yang.
"It makes a big boom and lights stuff on fire. What's not to like?" Yang said, grinning at the thought of fighting Guts with weapons.
"I like how you played to your strengths. Most normal huntsman and huntresses would never think to make a weapon like yours." Taiyang said. He walked up to Guts and extended his hand. "May I?" Taiyang politely asked.
"Sure." Guts replied as he upholstered the crossbow and handed it to Taiyang. The blonde-haired man lifted and wielded the weapon with almost no effort at all.
"Ruby was right. This is a lot of weight for a small package." Taiyang said as he twirled the gun on his finger. "I am curious though. What is the weapon name?" Taiyang asked as he handed Guts back his gun.
"I really didn't think of a name for it" Guts said, unaware of the can of worms he just opened, like the sound of broken glass ruby yelled "WHAT!!!"
"That weapon is an extension of you!!! it's a part of you!!! ooh there so cool" ruby yelled a Guts only to start cooing at the end "well what about your sword what do you call it"
"Um... sword."
ruby face turned to comedically disappointed. As she stated to tear up comically
"Ruby it perfectly fine if Guts doesn't have a name for them" tai said trying to reassure her
"Yeah, it honestly not a big deal rubes" yang joining in trying to cheer her up
"But even someone like Qrow has one for his"
"Huh, Hey!" Qrow called out
"Ruby it's not like I don't care about naming my weapon, it just i don't see any use for it" Guts said not realizing how much it meant for her"
"(sigh) no it fine it just a really cool weapon should have a name"
"Hmm how about you come up with the name and I'll keep it if it good" Ruby mood immediately change upon hearing that
"Well, that's good and all. You kids want to go inside and play Kung Fu Ultimate Ninja Death Battle?" Qrow asked as he made his way inside, followed by Ruby and Yang. As for guts he stayed to clean outside with the help of tai.

In the following week both judeau and Guts are throwing knives that Guts made. He asked judeau for a few lessons since then he made some knives for his own so that judeau wont waste his. They are in the gym casually throwing knives at a target chatting about general things.
"So that field trip is coming up, huh?" judeau said as he made another bullseye
"Hmm... it is not really a field trip if it counts as school credit, honestly that time will be better spent on training" Guts replies as he throws a knife off target, but his main focus was to have a small grouping. Judeau only smirked at Guts reply, from the time he knew him, he was always training to sharpen his skills and become stronger.
"What is it again? acting like security for some politicians" he asked as Judeau
readied to throw another knife "yeah apparently the runner up for the council will be attending at the vale picnic to gather some support."
"Any idea where they're coming from and where the ''picnic" is?''
"Mistral i guess... and some ruins in Vale" Judeau then throws the knife making another bullseye
"Hmm" guts looks over and sees that they went through all of the knife's "well that's that" the two started to pick up the knives from the target and whatever was on the floor (those belong to Guts)
"So guts are you interested in adding knives in your fighting style?" he asked as hes twirling a knife in his finger, cocking a brow
" no not really just peeked my interest when i saw fight during class" bothe guts and judeau walked to the hallway about to exit school when they heard a crashing noise and some swearing, the looked over and saw a blonde boy on the floor with a box and some metal on the floor. The boy had a bowl haircut and green eyes, when Guts got a better look at, he seems to be the same age as Ruby. The two boys approach the blonde boy as he was scrabbling to pick up the fallen metal.
A/N: OOPS NOT YET
Guts reached over to pick up a piece of metal that was further from the rest. He noted that it was shaped as some sort of plate. "Oi. need a hand" Guts offered as he presented the plated metal. The boy was startled for a moment before realizing the two teens in front of him.
"Oh, uh yeah thank you" he said as he took the plate. All three of them picked up the metal and put them in the box. The young boy carried the box with Guts and Juideau walking along with him.
"Thank you for helping me and sorry to be a burden to you guys" he apologies as judeau open the door for him
"Eh, don't sweat it, it no bother for us " guts said as he is recalling the metals he picks up
"Yeah, don't worry about it, anyways names Judeau what's yours" her asked the blonde boy
"Oh, right my name is Rickert Peregrine. nice to meet you" he smiles as he looks to guts who was deep in thought. "...hmm? Oh, names Guts" he said as he noticed the silence. Ricket took a moment to absorb the name, his eye shot wide open realizing who he was
"Wait G-Guts. Y-you're like the school strongest. A prodigy who able to go head-to-head with most of the school faculty" he exclaims getting louder and louder
"Wait, you know who I am?"
"Yeah most of the first years here know who you are, I mean you even a fan, a girl with black hair with red tips who talks about you" Guts immediately knew who he was talking about, he chuckled a bit imagining Ruby rabiling about him with her child-like manner.
"At first we didn't believe her on some of the things she said like a first year keeping up with a combat teacher, until our homeroom teacher confirmed it" Rickert said in awed.
" who knew i garner that much attention " guts respond, he never knew that his reputation will be this far into his school year, he figured that it will sizzle out further in the year. As this was going on Guts glances at Rickerts box one more time and get a clue what it is.
" Hey Rickert, can I ask you something?"
Rickert was slightly sunted before recomposing himself " sure what do you need?
Tell that metal were they forge by a black smith"
Oh yeah they were why"
"Did you forge it?" he was hoping that the boy was familiar with smithing
"Uh no but i am an apprentice for a blacksmith here in Patch, he's been teaching me about smithing and metal-work" He exclaimed excitedly
"Rickert? If possible can you introduce me to him, i been meaning to find a black smith nearby for my gear."
"Yeah sure I can, we can go right now actually!" he said enthused, Guts couldn't help but grin, finally found someone who can work on his gear. "Well it looks like you'll be busy Guts, if that's the case i'll see you tomorrow" judeau inform taking off to the opposite direction
"Alright see you tomorrow"
__________________________________________________________________________
After their departure, Guts quickly went home to retrieve his sword and armor. Rickert led him far away from town, almost going to the other side of the island. As Rickert leads him the way he explains that he wants to be an artisan of weapons and gear for hunters, he has no interest in becoming one but he still wishes to know how to fight.
"So rickert what can you tell me about this blacksmith" Guts said pulling his wagon which has his gear and rickerts stuff
"Well, His name is Godo and he mostly lives out here with his granddaughter Erica." he said, getting an acknowledged grunt from Guts "and he has been a blacksmith for a long time apparently he was quite famous."
"Godo huh...i don't think i heard that name before?"
They both reached the top of a hill overlooking their surroundings. There was a log cabin similar to the xiao long's, only not as wide. There was a second building next to it assuming it to be the workshop. The building was made of cobblestone, it looked like a part of the building was added, Guts could only assume that it was the armory storing the weapons he made. As they made their way to the house they heard a faint noise in the distance, it got louder and louder getting close to them.
They saw the source of the noise, a small girl looking roughly younger than rickert. She has green eyes and blonde hair tied in a bun with a white bonnet on her head. She wore a red blouse, white skirt and brow slipper. She has a very expressive face one that can challenge Ruby, as she saw the two boys she bolted to rickert giving him a hug
"Rickert, welcome back" she said with joy in her voice she looked up "heh yeah, i'm back erica is master home?"
"Uh huh, grandpa is hammering away in the shop he-ah?" she stopped and noticed Guts who looked menceally to her, Guts and Rickert notice and sweatdrop a little
" oh, umm Erica this is a friend of mine in school his name is Guts"
"Hello" Guts gave a wave
"Oh, hi my name is erica" she said with a smile making Guts raises a brow on the sudden change of mood "anyway if your here for grandpa let me take you to him" she took Rickert by the hand taking him to the the workshop with Guts following suit
As they get closer to the forge they can hear the rhythm of metal being stricken, as they enter they feel an intense heat hitting their face making them scrunch their faces, the room was filled with the smell of metal and smoke. The room was lit in a glowing warm orange and was filled with various tools and weapons. There was a large fire pit the source of the light filled with with burning wood and glowing fire dust crystal, to the side of it there was a trough of water most likely to quench the hot metal.
CLANG
They turn to the source of the noise and see the back of a short stocky figure with gray long hair and a dark complexion. He wore a leather apron and gloves with a bandana wrapped on his head. He wore nothing under his apron evident from his bare back. He has a hammer in hand striking away on the bright glowing rod, he continues on his work oblivious to the three that enter.
"Grandpa! Rickerts here!" she said, raising her voice over the noise. The old man continues to hammer away, not stopping to acknowledge his granddaughter.
"Good send him my way. Tell him to get situated, we got work to do" he gruffed not bothering to look back
"Um good afternoon master I'm here wi-" "Rickert i told you not to call me master. Now get over here I got a hot block with your name on it. I'm going to show you how to make an ax head"
The two wards sweat drop at the old man who hasn't stop and looked at them, Guts having waited long enough decide to speak up
" Sir I'm here hoping to conduct business with you" Godo stops mid swing not recognizing the newcomer. He turns around with his hammer still on hand, facing the children he has a long bread that reached his belly. Guts took note that he's actually quite muscular for his age and also sees he had no eye protecting wear. Guts also feels like he's being judged right now.
Godo looks at the newcomer and sees he has a muscular frame indicating he is a fighter, he's tall, showing that he's older than Rickert. he deepens his stare at Guts looking directly at his eyes, he seems to have actual combat experience. He noticed that he was unaffected by his stare.
The two of them continue to stare down at each other. Rickert is looking back and forth between the two of them, he mustered the courage to speak "Ma-Godo this is Guts he's a friend from school, he actually one of the top students in the school in term of combat"
"... "Guts" huh, so since he's number one in that school you feel intile to do whatever he asked" Godo said rather coldly glancing to Rickert "no i mean i-"
" i saw that he had some of your wear and asked him if he could introduce me to you, you see i've been meaning to find a black smith nearby who can work on my gear, so he was not obligated to help me just because I'm "number one" in the school. I care little about that" Guts intervened giving his honest response, he did not wish for rickert to lose his position as an apprentice just so he can get his gear. "Hmm... tch fine let me see what you got see if worth my time" he declared
Guts went outside to retrieve the wagon and bring it inside. Rickert removes what was his and Guts presents his gear to Godo, who is inspecting it. He first looked over the armor noting it very weather down also that it was poorly made
"Where did you get this junk of an amor?" Godo asked as he raised the armor, shaking it emphasizing it poor condition, which confused Guts by the claim.
"I got it in town brand new i was able to make a custom set" he explains making godo scoff
"That explains why they're different," he said inspecting the pauldron, he could tell by looking at it that the smithing method from these two pieces are different. He looked at the rest of the set seeing that they went through the ringer, he wondered if Guts is one who looks for trouble. After looking at the mediocre armor he goes to the great sword and immediately pauses when he sees it. Guts noticed this and observed that man's action. Godo narrows his eyes and looks over the sword with great interest, he runs his fingers on the edge of the blade feeling the nick it got. He felt the face of it noting the scruff marks and the slight dents, he shook his head in disappointment. Then he did something odd, held the sword with both hands one the handle and the other on the blade and closed his eyes. Guts and the others watch questionably on what Godo was doing. Godo opens his eyes disgruntled as he throws the sword into the wagon along with the armor.
"Out!!" he said, prompting everyone to be confused "out!! I don't want you here, near my home, near me or near them, get out and leave now!!" he demanded as he pointed at the door Guts was now very confused the way he acted it seemed that he did something wrong to godo.
"Wait, why? what did I do?" trying to defuse the situation
"Act innocent all you want but i know what you and where you come from" he said shocking Guts
"Godo please i'm sure what ever happ-" "no boy you'll will stay away from him in fact don't go to school ill figure out where you'll go" Rickert was shock whatever was upsetting godo he was willing to change schools for him, Guts was still stunned on what Godo said, for the life of him he has no idea what caused this much discord with the old man, but the fact the he might know who he is.
"Listen, I don't know where you think you know me bu-" "yes i do boy or should i say Mad Dog" this prompted Guts to shut up and freeze, both Erica and Rickert were confused about the name and wondered what it meant especially causing guts to freeze. Guts snapped out of his stupor and calmed his thoughts thinking how to resolve this.
"... can we talk in private please" Guts pleaded sincerely, Godo looked at the boy about to refuse but against his better judgment gave in to his request. " Rickert go help Erica with her chores" Understanding the message he took Erica and leaving the two in the workshop. Once they did they both stayed quiet, Guts thought running a hundred mile per hour thinking what he should say he did not expect to be put on the spot.
"Go ahead, ill humor you let you get your theats out and whatnot" Godo said, snapping him out of his state. The only thing Guts can think is how?
".... how do you know what i am?" Godo looked at him surprised, not thinking this is where they were going, he crossed his arms before answering. "If you ask how I know you're a mercenary, that's because I dealt with your group" Guts looks at him and wants him to continue.
"Those bastard come here for there weapons to be repaired but never pay me for doing so, they also take what they want and make death threats to me and to Erica" he explain with venom in his voice, Guts never put much thought to it, but never thought where the band get there weapons repair.
"And because of that i hate mercenarie so i decide not to deal with those fuckers. They can threaten me but gods help me I'll be damned if I let them threaten Erica" his voice cracked a bit on the last part. Erica was the only good thing in his life. He loved her as if she was his own and he'll go hell and back just for her."
"But after a while there was nothing. All the sudden those mrec disappear like they fell off the face of the planet.... Until you came... that sword you carried was mine, I made that sword. It was one of many weapons they took."
"So if you be so kind and get the hell out of here I dont want to deal with you or those bastards. And stay away from those kids!" he demanded with some threatening undertones. Guts didn't realize that the mercenaries cause this much pain outside of doing their jobs. He always believed that the mercenaries were a step above the bandit, but they acted the same. He can't help but think if there were other people like Godo. If it was anything else he would have done what the oldman asked... but he knew he was the key to help get him, because without Godo his gear will be faulty and he will not get stronger without his gear, and will not survive a grimm attack. So he has to ask and appeal to his better nature
"... godo... i...i beg not to turn me away if... if your worry about the mercenaries then dont... there gone i'm all there left and i'm not in the mercenary business, i'm trying to be a huntsman and have a honest living" Guts struggle to appeal to him he knew if he outwardly say that he not a mercenary and there all gone that it was a desperate plea and he will deny him. Sure enough Godo scoff at this.
"Right you expect me to believe that , even if you left how could i believe you in what you slide about them"
" you right i can't prove it..."
"Then you-"
" because i killed them" this made godo eyes widen slightly, seeing his reaction Guts continues.
Guts went to full depth on the event that occurred. With the rising of the new guard and the questioning of Gabinos leadership, their betrayal, his month of torure, his escape and finally snuffing out what remains of their band. He did not leave out any detail except for any mention of Martino or his curse. He knew that telling him this was a long shot, but was hoping that the threat of the mercenary was gone, but the fact that he know that he's the mad dog might be difficult to to pursue
Godo took a moment to analyze his story. It made since the last time he dealt with the mercs they were talking about a newcomer that threatened the old guard. If this starter up was as good then no doubt that the old leader will feel threatened by him. Godo had dealt with that man and knew how spiteful he could be. He looks at the boy and despite looking like a delinquent, he doesn't seem the type to lie about that and his explanation did not sound like it was rehearsed. However there is a potential that he is just as worse as the rest... after all he is mad dog guts.
Godo narrows his eyes and grunts '' that's a likely story, whether or not it's true. Tell me why should I repair your gear huh?"
"....(sigh) because.... Because like you I have people that I care for and I wish to protect." Guts' mind goes back to the Xai longs, Qrow, and Casca. " Knowing my own life I'll incite violence one way or another and sometimes that violence will go after those I want to protect. So that is why I'm here so I can get stronger and face the obstacles ahead of me."
The room fell silent for a time both Guts and Godo stared at each other with both unreadable expressions. After what felt like an eternity Godo spoke "Those people you care about... are they worth it, are you willing to give your life to protect them?" Guts responded by lifting his sleeve from jacket and undid his wrapping on his hand, showing the scars from his left arm. "That and more" he declared without hesitation.
Godo only stared at the arm before looking back at Guts "Hmph fine i'll see what i could do" he said as he walk over to Guts gear, with guts relief " thank you"
Godo inspected the armor once again, sighing in frustration " what were you doing with this huh. Did you wear it and throw yourself down a mountain at something" as he looks over at the equipment, Guts respond accordingly " no i wear it while sparring, training or fighting off grimm"
"Uh huh, and the sword i guess you use it to train as well" picking up the sword looking at the conditions
" and it is my primary weapon too" Guts informed, causing the blacksmith to look at him " you swing this sword around at the grimm and what? Not get tired by it" he said in disbelief "you might have those muscle but i doubt you can keep going with this as your main weapon" Guts could only sighed as he took his sword and made his way to the door, before exiting Guts motions him to follow with the old man begrunently complying.
As they are walking towards the surrounding woods, Guts looks over his sword scanning for any sigil or mark that indicates it is one of Godos swords, wondering how he knew that it was his sword.
"If you're looking for my name or something like that you won't." Godo said noticing guts actions "I have a different method of a smithing,i created a method of smithing called aura bleeding"
"Aura bleeding?"
" Yeah, tell me, do they teach you aura manipulation in that school?" Godo asked Guts nodded intrigue on the method
"Ok same thing but I imbued my tools with my aura and strike on the metal I'm working on, bleeding my arua into it , making the weapon have its own form of aura" Godo explained, however something clicked in Guts head. "Wait how could a weapon have its own aura let alone keep one" Guts asked in disbelief
"Didn't you hear what i said fool, i created the method so only i can do it, and the way it can be possible is the materials i use." he then point to a hill far from his home " i have a private mine that supplies me with iron ore however Dust crystals form in there making the iron have unique properties , it made a stronger material, i call it dust ore" Godo explain, with Guts fully understanding
"So I figure that if the dust ore is strong what if i add aura into the mix" he said chuckling at his accomplishment. To say guts was amaze was an understatement, he looked at his sword with more appreciation. "Alright then why are we outside" Godo said taking guts out of his thought
" to show you that i'm serious" He said as they reached the edge of the forest, he stood in front of a tree that was four feet wide as he was about to prep a swing he heard running from behind. Both Godo and Guts look back to see Erica and Rickert running toward them, with Erica taking the lead. She reached toward her grandfather
"Grandpa grandpa what's going on" before he could answer he wait for rickert to come over, the boy was running behind the girl out of breath
"Ha. ha. Ha sorry.... She saw you...ha.ha.ha and came to you" he panted as he had his hands on his knees catching his breath, he looked to guts who had his sword on his hand then he looked at Godo then Guts again. "Hey Guts ... is everything ok? "
" don't worry Rickert, the fool and i came to an understanding"
"Oh that's good, but why are you out here"
That what i want to know" he said looking at guts
Guts said nothing as he lifted his sword over his shoulder and struck the tree shedding right through it. The tree then collapsed on itself falling off to the side. As it fell it made the resident back away slightly. Gut then turns back to Godo to see what he has to say. Godo was amazed to say the least. " not bad but how long do you think you arau will last"
"Uh Godo his aura is not active" Rickert corrected as he checked his scroll showing that Guts did not activate his aura.
"...Hmph alright then, now bring that sword here so i could repair along with your gear" he turn back heading to the house with erica walking along
"Wow guts how did you get him to change his mind" Rickert asked the black eye boy
"Hmm i guess i just appeal to him"
" come on you fool"
"Or not"
" If you want me to be your blacksmith then we'd form a contract. Meaning any of my wear's you have will be repaired by me and no one else" Godo informed as guts grunted
"Also knowing how you swing that sword around mean that i'll be expecting a lot of work from you" he huffed already imagining the workload he'll get
" on an estimate how long do i have to wait for my gear" Guts asked
"Tch impainte are you huh, well see how your equipment is on its last legs I'll say about three weeks" Godo guessed as he might have to go through every piece. three weeks. Heh that'll be roughly around the picnic. Guts thought as for the mean time he'll have to train.
"Yeah i'll wait but for the meantime can i use a substitute i wish to continue my training"
"Oh i could get you one Guts i'm sure we got some great sword in the armory" Rickert said
"No rickert, I'll get the sword for the big fool. Knowing him he'll need one similar to the one he has" Godo said, causing Guts to be annoyed by the name. As they reach the workshop Godo goes to the armory to get the sword as he sorts through the aisle he finds it and is about to leave, until he lays his eyes on a large mass standing tall. He looks at it for a moment before clicking his tongue turning away from it and leaving the armory
