After unleashing the Sky Ascension, Xiao Yan once again summoned his two clones, sending them charging toward the nearest targets—Zhou Yuan and Li Luo. Before the two could react, a spatial rift was torn open behind them. The clones grabbed hold of them and forcefully slammed them into the rift.
The amplification effect of Sky Ascension also extended to his clones. Though they weren't as powerful as his main body, when exerting their full strength, they were more than capable of restraining an enemy. Thus, Xiao Yan immediately summoned them and randomly chose two opponents to isolate in other spaces. If all five enemies were to attack at once, even with Sky Ascension active, Xiao Yan would stand no chance.
The first to reach Xiao Yan was Liu Feng, whom the Will of the World had named the Sword Saint. His speed clearly surpassed the other two, and before Lin Dong or Mu Chen could make their move, he struck first. Xiao Yan's expression hardened slightly. Among these opponents, Liu Feng gave him a far greater sense of danger than the others.
Like Xiao Yan, Liu Feng wore a black robe. Strangely, Xiao Yan felt an odd sense of familiarity emanating from him, as if there were some hidden, inexplicable bond between them—something deeply buried and unknown.
But Xiao Yan quickly suppressed this strange sensation, his attention drawn to the long and unusual sword in Liu Feng's hand as it came slicing down directly at him.
Facing such a powerful blow, Xiao Yan didn't dare to be careless. With a thought, his Heavy Xuan Ruler transformed into the form of the Eternal Ancient Ruler, empowered by Heavenly Flame. He swept it outward, executing the Six Harmonies Wandering Ruler technique. Endless ruler shadows erupted into the air, forming a web of protection that caught Liu Feng's strike.
But just as Xiao Yan let out a breath of relief, he felt the long sword in Liu Feng's hand vibrate violently. In the next moment, a tremendous force surged through the blade—its strength suddenly increasing more than tenfold. This overwhelming power brutally shattered the ruler-shadow defense web and sent Xiao Yan flying.
Even as he was flung backward, Xiao Yan suddenly sensed a strange fluctuation behind him. Though he didn't turn around, his powerful soul perception told him exactly what was happening. A second Liu Feng had appeared behind him—and this one wasn't holding a sword, but a scabbard.
'A clone?' Xiao Yan's eyes narrowed slightly. But his surprise wasn't due to the existence of the clone itself—cloning techniques weren't uncommon in this world. What alarmed him was the terrifying force radiating from this clone. It seemed… even more powerful than the original.
Crack!
The scabbard struck Xiao Yan's body. A golden radiance flared instantly—it was the protection of his Nirvana Golden Lotus. It blocked the strike for a brief instant before shattering under the scabbard's might. But in the same instant, Xiao Yan summoned his Ancient Dragon-Phoenix Armor, which managed to block the scabbard's fatal blow.
With the double-layered protection of the Nirvana Golden Lotus and Dragon-Phoenix Armor, along with the physical durability provided by his Eternal Void Demon Body, Xiao Yan finally withstood Liu Feng's ambush. Even so, the sword aura that pierced into his body left him with internal injuries—proof of how devastating Liu Feng's attacks were.
'No wonder this guy was called the strongest among those summoned. He really is something else…' Xiao Yan mused. He had never underestimated this man, yet in a single exchange, he had already taken damage. Based on that alone, Xiao Yan was certain—Liu Feng's true strength far surpassed that of the Heavenly Evil God.
Just as that thought flashed through his mind, a streak of thunder exploded beside him—Lin Dong, wielding the Thunder Emperor Staff, surged toward him like lightning.
This opponent, Xiao Yan was far more familiar with. As he twisted to block Lin Dong's strike, he even found the time to toss out a mocking remark.
"Seriously, how many times do I have to kill you? I just slept with your sister and daughter, and you're still holding a grudge?"
If this Lin Dong were his true self, he might have erupted in rage right then. But this was merely a projection from another world, devoid of Lin Dong's actual consciousness. Silent and expressionless, the projection continued attacking with the Thunder Emperor Staff, relentless and fierce.
Compared to Liu Feng, Xiao Yan found Lin Dong's attacks easier to handle. After all, they had clashed before, even if indirectly. As he fended off Lin Dong's blows, Mu Chen arrived from behind.
Mu Chen raised both hands into the air. A white sacred pillar suddenly materialized, then swung downward toward the back of Xiao Yan's head with destructive force.
The appearance of this pillar was reminiscent of the Great Sumeru Demon Pillar Mu Chen had used in a previous battle. However, the energy radiating from this one was far more terrifying—greater even than the Maha Yin-Yang Vase. Clearly, this sacred pillar was a weapon that had surpassed the Supreme Artifact tier.
Clang!
The pillar smashed down—but struck nothing. A blood-red demonic sword appeared in its path, blocking the blow. The sword surged with violent crimson light, resisting even the might of the sacred pillar.
Xiao Yan hadn't forgotten this sword. During the assault on the Hall of Ten Thousand Demons, he had left it behind to absorb the corpses of Demon Emperors and the lingering demonic energy in the area. After devouring so much flesh and power, the blade had undergone a qualitative transformation. Now, it too had surpassed the level of a Supreme Artifact.
In his left hand, Xiao Yan gripped the blood sword. In his right, the Eternal Ancient Ruler blazed with radiant flame. Both weapons swung simultaneously—brilliant flame and brutal sword aura erupting outward. Together, they forced Lin Dong and Mu Chen back.
Watching this unfold, the Heavenly Evil God, who had been silently observing the battlefield, furrowed his brows.
'This guy… he's still hiding more cards…'
He had assumed that summoning Liu Feng, Lin Dong, and Mu Chen would be more than enough to overwhelm Xiao Yan. But to his shock, Xiao Yan had countered their combined assault and was still standing strong.
'If he had used this level of strength in our earlier battle…'
That thought sent a chill through him. His gaze turned colder and more sinister. Without delay, he urged the three projections to intensify their assault.
