I took his hand and placed it on my chest. "My heart is beating."
"I know…" he amused. "Thank the goddess."
"It beats for you, only you. I choose you, Drevon."
"And I choose you, too." He leaned down to me and stole my lips in a kiss.
It started slow at first, enjoying the connection before it turned heated. I rose on my tiptoe just to deepen the kiss. Drevon's hand slipped behind my head and pulled me more as he devoured my mouth, curving his head numerous times.
"The only thing that can kill me is you," he muttered against my lips. "I exist only for you, Eloise, and no one else."
"Drevon…" I murmured, voice choked with emotions. "I never meant to hurt you. I know I did, and you don't deserve that. You don't deserve me."
"That is for me to decide, is it not?" he teased. "I'm the one who doesn't deserve you, but I'm selfish." He kissed me again.
"I-I don't want to be apart from you anymore," I shook my head. "I don't think I can bear that."
"I'm your home, Eloise…always."
