Chapter 37 - The Monarch's Ball [Part 3]

Eyes. So many that I have lost count—punctured my entire body. It felt like I was fatally stabbed with needles!

I stayed by Drevon's side the rest of the evening, but I felt endangered with all this attention. They were all Lycans, and I was the only breathing human in their midst.

Well, they can all stare as much as they want; they can't get me now. Hehe.

I took another drink from the crystal goblet. I shouldn't have more wine, but this was the only thing keeping me rooted. This was the plan: show them that I was favored by the monarch, that alone would secure my safety.

But I felt like I made everything worse. I didn't dare to look to my far right, because Sloane was there and her death glares didn't go unnoticed. Don't get me started on the Dowager.

I clung to Drevon's arm more, and looked at him. He was grinning like an idiot. "What's so funny, my liege?" I gritted quietly.

"I finally get to feel how soft they are."
