Chapter 5612: Little Smarty-Pants
"See, I told you that little rascal couldn't be fooled?" The couple was hiding in their room, eating fish soup and chatting.
"That guy yesterday wasn't exaggerating at all. He said he couldn't last three minutes with our son," Mo Lian said, chuckling, as he served his wife a piece of fish. "I bet he didn't even last a minute before he spilled the beans."
Qiaomu blew on the piping hot fish, sighed, and put it in her mouth. "He's so young and already so hard to fool. When he gets older, no one will be able to trick him."
"Exactly."
Bang! God Venerable Taohua, drawn by the scent, kicked open the door.
He stood grandly at the doorway, one arm holding Little Mo Bao, the other grasping Guangguang, and roared, "You two! How dare you hide in here eating fish soup without inviting us!"
"Mommy's naughty, Daddy's even naughtier!" Little Mo Bao yelled indignantly.
Guangguang waved his tiny hands and chimed in, "Poker-faced Mommy and naughty Daddy are hiding in the room eating without us!"
Qiaomu calmly put down her chopsticks and beckoned. "We're just taste-testing. If it's good, we'll cook more for you later."
The one adult and two children quickly scurried over, grabbing bowls and chopsticks without ceremony, and immediately ladled out soup and picked up pieces of fish.
Taking a bite, it was fresh and delicious, the fish bones practically dissolving in their mouths.
The eyes of the one adult and two children, all three pairs, suddenly lit up, practically shining brighter than the stars and moon.
"There's more in the pot; you can eat slowly," Qiaomu said, looking at the three with exasperation.
The one adult and two children ignored her, their chopsticks falling like rain.
"Wow, poker-faced Mommy, this fish is even better than the Colorful Divine Fish! What kind is it?"
"I don't know, just a random catch from the Blue Sea."
In less than fifteen minutes, they had devoured the entire pot of fish, leaving not a single drop of soup.
Qiaomu was a bit speechless and asked them, "Want more?"
All three heads nodded in unison.
"Later, let's wait until Duan Yue and the others are out tonight."
"Mommy," Little Mo Bao scampered over to his mother, climbed onto her lap, and rubbed his head against her chest. "The fish you cooked is so good, Little Tuanzi loves it."
His father couldn't help but glare at the back of his son's head.
This kid, knowing full well that his father had painstakingly stewed the fish, then turned around to flatter his mother. He truly was... a perplexing child.
Qiaomu couldn't help but chuckle, raising her hand to ruffle her son's head, but she warned him, "You're not allowed to gamble tomorrow, understand?"
Little Mo Bao nodded repeatedly, his voice milky, "Once bitten, twice shy, right? Mommy, Little Tuanzi fell for it once, he definitely won't fall for it a second time."
Qiaomu laughed, poking her son's forehead. "You're such a smarty-pants."
The next day, early in the morning, the competition grounds were already packed with people.
Everyone had come early to secure a spot.
There was no way around it; the number of spectators today was clearly much higher than yesterday.
After all, those who were eliminated from the competition in the first round yesterday now had time to follow the subsequent matches.
On the arena stood two young men.
Their robes were faded, almost white, showing they hadn't had new clothes in a long time...
Little Mo Bao sat on the shoulder of the burly, tower-like man, Zhang Feng, swinging his little legs and exclaiming, "Wow! The two big brothers in this competition are so poor!"
