Chapter 5592: Disposal (Part 2)
Ma Wei was completely terrified at this point, instantly feeling the years-healed wound on his missing arm begin to throb faintly. He had only heard rumors of this young lady's ruthless methods before. Now, witnessing them firsthand, and applied to his own comrade, he finally understood that this woman was truly a malevolent force not to be trifled with. Anyone who provoked her would experience eight lifetimes of bad luck, without even a chance for regret.
Qiaomu watched Li Lan'er with cold eyes, her gaze piercing, then turned to Ma Wei. Ma Wei quickly followed Li Lan'er's lead and knelt, tightly clenching his fists. "Please, Madam, spare our lives."
Qiaomu looked at the two of them. "Hand over a wisp of your life soul. I'll consider it."
Li Lan'er and Ma Wei both trembled, raising their eyes to her in disbelief. This young lady's expression was truly chilling; she clearly wasn't joking. But in their Holy Domain, everyone was a person of standing. Handing over one's life soul was almost equivalent to completely abandoning one's dignity, willingly becoming a slave...
Li Lan'er decisively took out a wisp of her life soul and handed it over. Nothing was more important than life itself.
Ma Wei, however, hesitated. He stood up and said, "Though I am no hero, I still have a bottom line as a person. Madam, you may take another hand and foot from me, but I swear I will never hand over my life soul."
Qiaomu looked at him with a faint, unreadable smile, then nodded slightly. "Good, I will respect your choice." Her tone was soft and unhurried, carrying a subtly undetectable warmth. Yet, to those listening, it felt as if they were standing in an ice cavern, making them shiver involuntarily.
"Considering you've already lost an arm, I'll take one of your legs as a warning. If I ever find that you've harbored ill intentions, sought revenge, or attempted to kidnap my son again," Qiaomu's icy voice rang coldly in Ma Wei's ears, "I will make you wish you were dead!"
Everyone shuddered, momentarily speechless. This young lady's voice was too cold and resolute, leaving their minds ringing with only her utterly chilling words, unable to clearly hear anything else.
Ma Wei breathed a slight sigh of relief. At least he would have one hand still functional for the rest of his life. He had initially feared losing both his hands and had been quite worried. He gave Qiaomu a bitter smile. He couldn't say he bore no resentment, but that was just his nature. Since it was his own foolish mistake, and he was caught red-handed, it wasn't out of line for others to punish him. He tried to kidnap someone's child, and the child's adult chopped off his limbs; he accepted his bad luck.
As for plotting revenge later? He couldn't help but chuckle self-mockingly, thinking: How could I even dare to think of that? Having seen a ghost, how could one still not be afraid of the dark? This young lady's methods were already so formidable, and even more so with so many people behind her... Although this young lady was the only one who came forward to deal with things from beginning to end, the men and women behind her didn't look like kind-hearted folk either.
Ma Wei gritted his teeth and, with a grim determination, personally chopped off one of his own legs.
Li Lan'er couldn't help but flinch. She wouldn't dare to cut off her own limbs. As long as there was a glimmer of hope for survival, she wouldn't seek death.
"Kill him," Qiaomu ordered coldly.
Li Lan'er's eyes narrowed, and a sudden chill ran through her. But she quickly realized she had misunderstood; the young lady's words were directed at Venerable Mulberry.
