Chapter 2407 - 5582

Chapter 5582: Little Lord, Spare Me (Part 2)

Of the four, only Venerable Mulberry was still conscious. Yet, at this moment, he wished he could just faint like his three idiotic teammates.

"Little Wonton," Mo Baobao beckoned. The six-legged, four-winged, fiery red giant beast shrunk to the size of a dog and zipped into the child's hands.

Venerable Mulberry felt like he should just die. Not only did this child have a Holy Power Orb, but this shrunken giant beast also looked extraordinary. Could it be a divine beast? He didn't dare to think any further.

Zhao Gouzi was truly suicidal. It was one thing for him to want to die, but he had to drag the rest of them down. Now, instead of a successful kidnapping, they'd been taken down by a child. Venerable Mulberry had no idea how to salvage this situation. He lay on the ground, every joint aching. Being thrown by the Holy Power Orb at close range had a significant impact on his body. He knew his injuries were severe and he desperately needed a quiet place to get treatment.

But...

What did that child, wielding the gleaming golden sledgehammer, want to do?

"Old Grandpa, do you think we're idiots?"

"Your acting was so fake, so obvious, suddenly appearing in front of us and saying you'd take us home. Even a three-year-old wouldn't fall for that!"

Venerable Mulberry secretly gritted his teeth, thinking: Only you two devilish children wouldn't fall for it. My benevolent face is actually very deceptive; I've fooled many people before.

"When you saw us, your eyes just kept darting around, looking like a thief. Who would believe you?" Master Guangguang snorted.

"You don't even know how to do bad deeds properly."

"We thought you'd come up with some brilliant plan! Turns out you just wanted to kidnap us for resources."

"So stupid."

"Exactly! The stupidest are the one-armed man and that old auntie. Any clear-sighted person could tell you two aren't a married couple; why pretend to be an old husband and wife? Truly foolish."

"They don't even know how to act seriously or professionally. They were seen through instantly. It's ridiculous!"

Venerable Mulberry was so cornered by the two children's back-and-forth banter that his throat was dry and he couldn't utter a word. He simply spat out a mouthful of blood, then closed his eyes and pretended to pass out.

Mo Baobao watched him expressionlessly, then suddenly glanced at Master Guangguang.

Master Guangguang nodded, and the sledgehammer came crashing down with a resounding boom, directly striking the old man. With a cry of pain, he instinctively sat straight up...

His movements were oddly comical; he straightened his arms and torso, flipping up to a sitting position, his expression still showing traces of pain.

Mo Baobao blinked and said, "Old Grandpa, your acting is terrible. A normal person's breathing rate when unconscious is completely different from when they're awake."

"You're just faking it to escape responsibility."

"Do you think pretending to faint will solve everything?"

Venerable Mulberry's face paled slightly, sensing that something bad was about to happen. He quickly pleaded for mercy, "Little Lord, have mercy. Little Ancestor, we didn't know of your esteemed presence and have greatly offended you. Please, on account of this being our first offense, let us off the hook."

They had intended to kidnap, but they hadn't even succeeded in doing so. They hadn't even touched a single hair on the other party before the mission was declared a failure.
