Rumble!
Roars echoed from the imperial tombs, shaking the imperial city's ground. Though the Human Emperor Sword hadn't arrived, the Han Emperor stood proudly, raising his hand to welcome it as he冷冷 (coldly) eyed Wu Jing: "Reaching Myriad Realms is no easy feat. Heaven values life, so I'll spare you if you swear an oath to serve Han."
Subduing these warriors would give Han a legion of Myriad Realms experts, enough to conquer nations.
"Eh? Where is the Human Emperor Sword?"
The tomb's commotion died down, but the sword didn't appear. Someone couldn't help exclaiming. The sword should have reached the emperor by now, but it was nowhere to be found.
The Han Emperor looked astonished, urging the jade talisman. This time, the silver light vanished into the tomb with no response, as if the sword had disappeared from the world.
"Impossible! Has the Human Emperor Sword abandoned me?" The emperor's face paled, his spirit broken. The sword refusing his call meant it didn't recognize him as Han's ruler—a bolt from the blue.
"What's wrong with the Human Emperor Sword? Why did it reject the emperor?"
"Does the sword think the emperor unworthy?"
"Nonsense! The sword must be faulty, hence the silence."
Ministers whispered, unsettled, until the Prime Minister silenced them.
"Hehe! Your Han Dynasty's luck-suppressing treasure seems broken." Wu Jing laughed wildly, relieved now that the sword hadn't appeared.
The Han Emperor's face turned铁青 (livid), powerless against Wu Jing's mockery. Lin Yu inwardly rejoiced—the cauldron had devoured the sword. No matter how many times the emperor summoned it, it would never appear. The emperor's plan to kill him with the sword was a pipe dream.
"Zhou Chen, why haven't you attacked? Wait to fight the legendary Human Emperor Sword?" Wu Jing snorted, ordering Zhou Chen.
"Brother Wu, I'll kill the wretch now!" Zhou Chen laughed proudly, his body ablaze with scorching red flames. Flame ripples spread from his feet, tens of zhang wide, as he slashed at Lin Yu. The ripples surged back into his sword, forming a scarlet rainbow that burned stone bricks to powder, leaving a zhang-wide trench.
Zhou Chen smiled—one step from Eighth Rank Myriad Realms, even suppressed to Fifth Rank, his full strike rivaled a Sixth Rank expert's. The wretch couldn't block it.
The Han Emperor and ministers looked grim—without the sword, even with the array suppressing Wu Jing's men, they couldn't match them.
"If only Prince Su were here..." Someone murmured, voicing everyone's wish. Prince Su, a Myriad Realms warrior, might fight under the array's boost—but he was elusive.
Lin Yu冷冷 (coldly) watched the scarlet light, a不屑 (disdainful) sneer on his lips. At his will, the Wind Controlling Sword flew from his mind in a cyan stream. Dazzling cyan light暴涨 (surged), turning the sword into a rainbow that met the scarlet light.
Bang!
Boosted by wind sword intent and Lin Yu's superior strength, the sword shattered the scarlet light, then shot toward Zhou Chen. All saw cyan light flash as the狂暴 (raging) scarlet light exploded into flame ripples that rained down and vanished.
Before they could react, the sword arced back to Lin Yu, hovering before him.
Click!
Zhou Chen's head separated from his neck, blood spraying. Still shocked, his head rolled a zhang away as his无头 (headless) body collapsed.
"Zhou Chen is dead! He was Seventh Rank Myriad Realms! What's this wretch's cultivation?"
"The Enlightenment Spirit Lamp is indeed powerful! Only Brother Wu can kill him now."
The two remaining cyan-robed warriors trembled in horror, grateful they hadn't volunteered. Wu Jing's face turned铁青 (livid), eyeing Lin Yu in惊疑 (shock). He couldn't see Lin Yu's cultivation, but killing Chen Xuan and Zhou Chen meant Lin Yu was at least Eighth Rank, maybe even Ninth Rank like himself.
"Flying sword and wind sword intent—aren't these Prince Su's signature skills?"
"Prince Su once taught the Great Qi Prince Li He a lesson with a flying sword and wind intent."
"This sword is identical to Prince Su's—I can't be wrong! Is there no Prince Su? Did the Third Prince act as him?"
Ministers stared at the Wind Controlling Sword, shocked. Their eyes switched between Lin Yu and the sword, many guessing the truth. Why did "Prince Su" always save the Second Prince and Chu Chu? If Prince Su was the Third Prince in disguise, it all made sense—only the Second Prince, Chu Chu, and the Seventh Princess were close to the Third Prince.
