Chapter 59 - I Actually Know This Person!

After Felicity, Tyree, and Graham followed Brentley out of the classroom, their faces were filled with confusion.

They couldn't understand why Farrah, who had always looked down on Brentley, would suddenly want to sleep with him.

Although she hadn't directly admitted it today, her intense reaction in demanding them to let Brentley leave indicated that she had indeed acknowledged everything.

"Brentley, what's going on between you and Farrah?" Graham couldn't hold back any longer and walked up to him, asking in a low voice.

"Yeah, Brentley, why would Farrah want to sleep with you?" Tyree asked, equally curious.

Brentley glanced at the two of them, then briefly explained how Farrah had been kidnapped by Jaxson Jordan and his gang, and later she called asking him to bring money to rescue them.

Although Brentley didn't want to reveal his true identity to Graham and Tyree just yet, he felt that explaining this situation wouldn't be a problem.

After hearing Brentley's explanation, Graham suddenly understood and quickly said, "So Farrah wanted to sleep with you to repay the four thousand dollars, right?"

"Yeah, but I'm not really interested in her, so I didn't touch her. I hadn't planned on telling anyone about this, but she pushed me too far today, and I lost control and let it slip," Brentley explained softly.

"I see," Tyree nodded, his confusion now cleared up.

Brentley's explanation seemed very reasonable to Tyree and Graham. After all, if it weren't for something like this, how could the proud Farrah ever want to sleep with Brentley?

"But Brentley, where did you get the $4,000 from?" Felicity asked softly, her brow furrowed as she sensed something was off.

"Yeah, Brentley, last time you said you won the lottery, which is why you could afford to treat everyone to dinner at the Prosperity Hotel. But you spent $9,000 that time. So where did this $4,000 come from?" Graham chimed in, also looking at him with suspicion.

"Uh..." Brentley Carter hesitated for a moment before speaking softly, " I told you I won $100,000 from the lottery not $10,000. I spent over $9,000 on that dinner, and I used $4,000 to help Farrah and Taylor. The remaining balance....."

Felicity, Graham, and Tyree stared at Brentley Carter in disbelief. They never imagined that Brentley Carter, who was always seen as a poor guy, could be so lucky to win $100,000 in the lottery.

To put it in perspective, at Sunshire City University, the average student's monthly living expenses ranged from $300 to $450. Only a few students from well-off families received more than $450 a month. So, the $100,000 Brentley mentioned was an astronomical figure to them.

What baffled them even more was that he had spent part of the money on treating everyone to dinner and helping Farrah and Taylor with what they considered trivial matters!

They couldn't understand what was going through Brentley's mind. Could it be that he had been poor for so long that he didn't know how to spend money wisely now that he had it?

Although they couldn't comprehend why he would waste money this way, they still found his explanation reasonable.

"Brentley, since you won so much money, why didn't you save it? You could have used it to improve your life," Felicity said, her voice filled with concern for his seemingly wasteful spending.

"This money was unexpected for me in the first place. Wasting it doesn't really cause me any loss," Brentley Carter explained helplessly.

"But if you don't waste this money, you won't have to pick up trash anymore. You could buy yourself a new set of clothes, and then people wouldn't look down on you!" Felicity quickly added.

"Do you think changing my clothes will make people respect me more?"

Brentley couldn't help but chuckle at Felicity's words. He then continued, "You're over-simplifying things. They don't look down on me because of my clothes. They refuse to accept that I'm not just some poor loser. If I spent this money on expensive clothes, they'd think I either found them or stole them. Even if they know I bought them myself, they'd still think I'm an idiot. It wouldn't change their opinion of me."

Felicity stared at Brentley Carter, momentarily stunned. She suddenly realized that what he was saying made a lot of sense.

"Not everyone becomes a prince or princess just by wearing fancy clothes. I'm wearing these old clothes and you all still choose to be my friends. Those who look down on me will continue to do so, even if I wear expensive clothes."

He paused for a moment before continuing, "I think my current clothes are just fine. I don't need to change myself because of others' opinions."

"Actually, I think Brentley has a point. Clothes should be something you like. There's no need to force yourself to change just because of other people's opinions," Graham said with a smile, agreeing with Brentley.

"Even if he doesn't want to buy clothes, he could use the money for something else. It doesn't have to be wasted!" Felicity said, still feeling a bit distressed.

Brentley knew that Felicity was saying these things for his own good, so he didn't argue. He took out his phone, glanced at the time, and said softly, "Well, I have something to take care of. I need to go." With that, he started walking towards the northeast gate of the school.

At the moment, he had no interest in discussing with her and the others how to spend the money. After all, he didn't just have this little money; he had trillions of them. What was really on his mind was Phoebe's situation.

As for whether to change clothes or not, he had considered buying nice outfits. However, he eventually decided that his current attire was just fine. At the very least, it allowed him to see people's true attitudes towards him. This was why he had never opted to change his clothes.

A few minutes later, Brentley arrived at the northeast gate of the University. Since fewer students passed through the northeast gate, Logan had purposely parked his car there to avoid other students seeing Brentley interacting with him. He was a meticulous person and had long suspected that Brentley was hiding his true identity.

Brentley found Logan's Mercedes, opened the door, and got in.

"Young Master Carter!" Logan greeted Brentley Carter with great respect.

"How's the investigation going on the people I asked you to look into?" Brentley asked, his face expressionless.

"Young Master Carter, let's talk about the live-stream platform's Sunshire City Young Master Jordan first. This guy is quite interesting, and you should actually know him!" Logan said as he handed the file to Brentley

"I know this person?" Brentley was surprised upon hearing this. He reached out and took the file.

When Brentley Carter saw the photo on the file, he couldn't help but pause. Then, with a helpless smile, he said softly, "I really do know this person..."
