The ink bled like dawn across an unwritten sky.
Footsteps echoed not on stone, but on memories.
And the door before us… was waiting.
A hush fell over our little group.
The wind carried old laughter and buried regrets. The Tower had given everything it had. And still, here we stood—half broken, mostly confused, probably underleveled.
But we were ready.
The door creaked open, and behind it...
A blank space. Pure white. Infinite. Empty.
Then came the voice. Not loud. Not cruel. Just...
Familiar.
> "You've made it to the end," it said. "But the ending was never mine."
The author stepped out of the void. Quieter. Smaller. Unarmed.
> "This was always yours," he said. "The story became something else."
Plotbert blinked.
> "Wait. Who's writing this right now?"
> "Whoever has the pen," The author smiled.
A glowing quill appeared in mid-air. Spinning. Waiting.
Grubnuk stared at it. "Is it… edible?"
Lyria placed a hand on my shoulder.
> "You're the main character. This part… it's you."
Arc floated beside me, once again in blade form—but humming with warmth.
The Princess nodded. Mortax crossed his arms but gave the tiniest grin.
And I? I stepped forward.
The quill dropped into my hand and the void became a page.
I took a breath. Then I looked back at everyone.
And I said—
> "Well now... It can't be all that bad, you know. At least we are able to write our known story and we'll do it right this time."
---
The quill touched the page.
The void exploded into color. Reality spun. Characters burst into light.
But we weren't fading. We were being written again. Better. Stranger. Truer.
The world around us was rebuilt—not as it was, but as it could be. Mountains made of music. Rivers flowing with plot threads. Ducks that judged you morally but with compassion.
And through it all, our group walked forward. Together.
Toward a new chapter. One not written yet.
But before that could happened—
A title appeared across the sky, glowing, spinning, absurd and beautiful:
"Let's See How Far My Common Sense Goes in This New World!"
---
They walked onwards towards a new beginning, one that works with them. Maybe, just maybe we'll see something special at the very end, wouldn't we reader..
that's all that I've wrote, the end of Book one.
The rest? We'll see... won't we?
