Chapter 3 - The Beast Within

Then the rain began to fall…

Drop by drop, until it felt as if the sky itself was crying with him.

And with every drop, the anger buried deep inside his chest slowly awakened.

He felt his being tearing apart…

A turmoil in his heart, then through his body…

He could no longer bear it, and there it was—the curse that lived within him returning—he transformed into a wolf, lifting his head toward the sky and howling…

A howl that was not an attack, but a mournful, wounded lament.

From inside the house, the sound was heard…

The children panicked, the windows trembled, but silence quickly returned.

No one dared come closer.

He quietly left the garden, as if the howl had been a farewell or a confession.

As soon as he crossed the boundary of the house, he returned to his human form.

He wandered aimlessly through the city streets, each step igniting a memory…

There, in the corners of his mind, he recalled what he saw between Sarah and the doctor.

The looks exchanged… the silence that spoke louder than a thousand words.

Betrayal… it was not one-sided.

He realized a painful truth: she betrayed him too.

A fiercer feeling churned inside him than pain…

Emotions burning like a fire that erupted from his soul, tearing his heart apart…

And suddenly, amid the crowd, without conscious control, he transformed again—this time into a jaguar, a furious beast born from the heart of a broken man.

People around panicked—screams, running, phones capturing the scene…

But he saw nothing… only his rage.

He roared… a roar that came from the depths of his soul, as if venting everything left unspoken.

Minutes later, a wildlife protection vehicle arrived and stopped nearby.

Trained men stepped out, weapons and nets in hand, faces devoid of fear.

They cautiously approached, intending to capture him… imprison him… or kill him if necessary.

But he was no mere animal…

He was a wounded man trapped inside a raging beast.

The fight broke out.

The first net shot at him, but he dodged with the agility of a beast that knows its land well.

He leapt onto the vehicle, leaving deep scratches in its metal body, then pounced on one of the men who fell writhing from the blow.

He wasn't killing…

He was defending himself… protecting his fury, screaming inwardly without words.

But they didn't understand.

One of them fired a tranquilizer dart that hit his shoulder, yet he did not fall…

Instead, he roared, a cry that shook the city's windows and deafened the sky.

His eyes began to change… burning with a strange hue, somewhere between gold and blood.

His end came as he finally fell into their trap, wounded and broken.
