Rhiannan POV
My bones still buzzed with divine magic.
The battle was over, but the aftershocks lived in every cell of my body. The bruises, the cuts, the raw ache deep in my soul. We'd survived the realm of the gods, fought back the shadows, and stared down the entity himself.
And now?
We were a sweaty, bleeding, exhausted mess.
We collapsed in a tangled heap in the dragon estate gardens, me and my five ridiculously powerful, half dead mates...like we'd been spit out of a war and landed face first into a fairy tale hangover.
"Move," I muttered, elbowing Kaleb as we stumbled through the halls toward Elisha's massive suite. "If I don't get to that stupid big ass bed in the next sixty seconds, I'm gonna collapse on this marble floor like a dramatic fainting duchess."
Elisha had built us a room the size of a banquet hall..walls etched in gold, enchanted windows that showed the stars, and a bed so big it could host an orgy and a council meeting. Which, honestly, we might do at the same time someday.
I hit that mattress like a fucking meteor and groaned in pure, exhausted bliss. "I'm never moving again. Feed me here. Bathe me here. Bury me here."
One by one, my mates joined me.
Kaleb curled around me like a possessive shadow, his scent grounding me.
Arwen slipped in with a theatrical sigh, his fingers trailing over my skin like silk.
Liam dropped in with a dramatic grunt and kissed my neck like it was a fuckin' stage act.
Elisha spooned me from behind, radiating that warm, molten heat only a dragon could offer.
And Sable… he came last. Trembling, desperate, and raw...but when I kissed him, I felt the fire still burning under all that pain. I tasted his loyalty. His rage. His love.
"I've got you," I whispered.
We all passed out in a heap, tangled in sheets, arms, wings, limbs, and more testosterone than the gods probably intended.
The next morning…
Bacon.
My eyes fluttered open to the holy scent of meat and maple syrup.
I stretched naked across the bed like a pampered queen and dragged myself toward the smell, my thighs sore and my soul satisfied. The divine hangover hadn't hit yet, and I was riding that serotonin high hard. I slipped on my favorite deep green robe and headed to the kitchen.
When I turned the corner into the estate's massive kitchen..I lost it. My heart jump d into my throat.
All five of my mates stood there. Shirtless. Glorious. Wearing aprons.
Aprons.
Kaleb's read, "Alpha Meat. Always Well Done."
Arwen's, "Panther in the Sheets."
Liam's, "Bite Me. Literally."
Elisha's, "I Cook. I Burn. Both Are Sexy."
And Sable's... "Hotter Than Hellfire."
I collapsed against the doorway, wheezing. "What in the horny hell is this?"
Liam turned, flipping a pancake. "Breakfast. And possibly a five course orgasm if you behave."
They spoiled me rotten.
Crispy bacon that made me moan. Strawberry drizzled pancakes that might've made me cry. Golden eggs, perfectly seasoned potatoes, fresh squeezed juice, and enchanted tea from the fae groves. Then came the bath..hot, herb filled, with Arwen washing my hair while Kaleb massaged my thighs like they owed him rent.
If this was goddess life? I was fucking in.
Wrapped in a silken robe later, lounging on the oversized couch with my head in Elisha's lap and Sable braiding my hair like it was his religion, I opened FaeNet on my smart brain.
That's when the joy died.
My smile vanished. My breath caught.
A live broadcast from the royal palace.
The King and Queen.
And in the center?
Gailia.
My sister in sass. My friend. My brave, soft voiced siren. Chained. Bloodied. Her pale blonde hair clinging to her bruised face. Her lip split. Her back bleeding.
The Queen's voice dripped poison as she called her daughter a traitor.
The whip cracked, and when Gailia screamed...something snapped in me.
I stood.
Didn't say a word. Didn't ask permission. The air around me shimmered like heat lightning and divine rage licked at my fingertips.
"You might want to sit down," I said to no one.
And then I sliced the air with two fingers, and a blinding portal of silver light exploded to life.
I stepped into the royal court mid broadcast. Still wearing my pink silk robes. No fucks given...right in the middle of their sick ass show.
The Queen gasped and narrowed her evil eyes. The King dropped his goblet and growled. Gailia looked up, eyes wide and glassy with pain.
I smiled sweetly at her. "Hi."
Then I ripped the chains off her like they were made of twigs. Wrapped her up in my arms and kissed her forehead.
"Say hi to FaeNet." I hissed to the royals.
And vanished back into the portal.
Back home…
"You WHAT?!" Kaleb barked, storming toward me like a pissed off blizzard.
I stood there, holding Gailia like she was my baby sister. "She needed me."
"You could've DIED!" Elisha growled, his flames flickering under his skin.
"Absolutely not," Liam muttered, tossing a blood soaked dishrag. "We're not doing 'solo heroine mission' as a regular thing."
"I was going to kill someone," Sable said, fangs out.
But Arwen?
He crossed the room in two strides and pulled Gailia into his arms. "You're safe," he whispered. "That's all that matters."
She buried her face in his chest and muttered, "Missed you, idiot."
I grinned.
They didn't stay mad long.
Not after I promised to let them "punish me" later.
I grabbed Gailias hand and grinned at her, "Just wait until you see your room!! But first let's get you to the medical wing babe!" She grinned and nodded and we rushed off down the hallway giggling like school girls.
Then...
Gailia tripped over something.
Correction, someones. Plural.
Two.
Identical men.
Silver hair. Golden eyes. Muscles for days. Tattoos like ancient runes. They blinked up at her from the floor, dazed as hell.
Then dropped to their knees.
"Mate."
Gailia's eyes went wide. "...Well, fuck." Her cheeks flushed and she snapped, "I would meet my mates fucking looking like a bedraggled bitch."
The twins immediately shook their heads, their eyes glazed over with worship. "You look perfect!" They exclaimed in unison.
I choked, then giggled maniacally.
Arwen covered his mouth. "Oh no."
Liam leaned over. "Ten bucks says they're dragons."
Sable muttered, "I'm not feeding them."
Kaleb just shook his head.
The twins looked up at Gailia like she was their moon, sun, and orgasmic prophecy combined.
And just like that?
The chaos began all over again.
