It's been 2 days since we've seen Ajax he was still relatively the same size he had moved up and decided it was time to get more confident and actually start hunting but their was an arrival in the area an duramboros an young bull as well ajax discovered him knocking down an tree and eating the tree he cut down.
Meanwhile while ajax sat an and looked over the ecosystem the researcher and her son had followed the scout fly tag directly to his location as they sat on an cliff and watch him stare at an young duramboros.
Patch watched with his recorder camera as ajax stood up walked into the moonlight plains and was trying to hunt an baby aptonoth only for the duramboros to see him stalking in the tall grass and charge at him thinking it was the target as it threw him over its back he landed on his side.
As he managed to scramble back upright he turned around and brought his sword tail down only for the duramboros to clean his head slightly to the left making his horn block the blade but also putting a cut wound in his right antler.
As the duramboros turned around shaking off the pain ajax drug his sword tail across the ground making it ignite with a mix of whitish flames slightly infused with dragon energy as he proceeded to arm his body around and bite onto his table while duramboros swung its club like tail ajax spun around and let go of his tail letting a momentum cut straight through the tail of duramboros.
And for good measure his throat heated up as he spat a ball of fire that was strangely coded in light amounts of dragon energy into the side of the duramboros knocking him over as the duramboros kicked it's self back up it hung its head low panting ready for the final blow only for ajax to pick up it's tail and walk away confused but greatful the duramboros limps away.
Meanwhile patch had wrote down the encounter he nor his mother had seen such an unique encounter it had been estimated that glavenus and duramboros wouldn't engage in turf wars but that was because it was never seen happeneding but more importantly an glavenus with dragon energy was unheard of.
But what they were more surprised about was that ajax didn't kill duramboros and only took its tail which meant he had unprecedented levels of intelligence they decided to stay around and watch him for 2 days to see any more unique turf wars and intelligence.
As ajax sat down to eat duramboros tail ajax was confident duramboros would figure out a way to knock down trees without its tail after finishing the tail ajax,s became dehydrated as he looked at the marsh and noticed an fallen half off the edge of a cliff covered with vines right under mitzutsune.
Ajax put his new plan into action patch and miko trailed ajax a little farther behind as they watched from the other side of the cliff as ajax used his tail blade to knock an rock into the waters of the marsh making mitzutsune slide over to investigate thinking it was a monster invading it's territory as it looked around.
Confused it was directly under the Fallen tree as ajax pushed it all the way off the cliff it fell onto mitzutsune doing some damage and wrapping it in Vines as ajax jumped down the miniature waterfall and drank some water after seeing ajax the mitzutsune struggled even harder to get out but by the time it had released itself.
He had already left patch was still documenting this amazing intellectual advance no one has ever heard of a monster with such intellect capable of setting traps it was unique they be came worried as ajax stared them directly in the eye thinking he was aggressive patch got ready to draw his bow.
Both of them were astonished immediately after patch drew his bow the glavenus opened its mouth slightly revealing it was ready to shoot a fireball patch wanted to try something as he put his bow away
Immediately Ajax closed his mouth.
Only for ajax to simply walk around them and return to his nest as he slept till next day Miko and patch set up camp directly above his nest site it really bother him as long as they didn't try to hunt him as the sun rose early he got up and walked next to the marsh stalking some aptonoth when mitzutsune from yesterday remembered how it was dishonorably tricked into an trap.
As it leaped out of the water startling Ajax it began to coil around his midsection squeezing constantly constricting until Ajax fell over he managed to use some of his strength to look down and bite directly onto the neck of mitzutsune before using his weight to rock himself upright.
And Yanking mitzutsune forward causing it to uncoil around his midsection as mitzutsune struggled and tried to wrap around his neck Ajax lifted his head up slammed it into the ground dragged it through the dirt before spinning around and throwing it back into the marsh mitzutsune proceeded to backflip making its body a circle before landing perfectly on all fours.
Mitzutsune roar and focused on a lot of water into its mouth noticing the attack ajax turned around with his blade lifted and the front of his body turned slightly towards his tailblade so he can see what was happening suddenly a beam of pressurized water in bubbles shot directly at Ajax only for his tail to intercept it spreading the water into two beams one going towards the cliff and the other one slicing through the ground each leaving mediocre gashes from the sheer pressure.
Ajax proceeded move backwards getting closer before flipping over the beam landing behind mitzutsune and just as mitzutsune turned around Ajax spun around slapping you ever living hell out of mitzutsune sending it tumbling through the water dazed.
Just for good measure Ajax proceeded to run up to it bite to its neck slam it into the water before dragging it through the water and tossing it into a wall leaving a print as mitzutsune was left to barely conscious.
Ajax believing he approved his skills had to go find another source of food meanwhile Miko and patch had documented and recorded the entire confrontation again a turf war that has never been seen and more unprecedented intelligence from an glavenus this was something that research commission was going to love.
They followed ajax as he approached the velocitrome pack and contested them for the aptonoth corpse the velocitrome were wise enough to leave the body and let Ajax have it as he munched away making sure to shake out the intestines for any leftover feces.
Ajax had forgotten this part of the moonlight planes had belonged to the rathalos as they rathalos spotted him in its territory while it was fine it Dove down and knocked him over and just to be Petty proceeded to launch a fireball directly at his freshly contested for meal Charing it to a crisp.
Ajax became enrage as his body began to heat up black flames appeared on the edges of his mouth and as he roared ajax:RAAAWGHOAHHHHH!. a black flame weld up in his throat and his tail he bit onto it devouring the impure metals as he cleared his tail before slamming it onto the ground sliding it on The ground igniting it in Black flames.
But these flames weren't any flames no they were imbued with dragon energy even if was a light amount of dragon energy it was still dragon energy miko and patch were stunned they had never seen an glavenus with black flames before the flames were literally so hot they were leaking off of the blade and on to the ground scorching it.
Miko wanted to say she discovered a new species but they had to wait for further changes to truly understand if it was a new species right now they had to focus on the turf war patch was already recorded all they had to do was watch.
The rathalos partially stunned didn't retreat as a flew to the side dodging a black fireball that exploded and splintered mini flames everywhere after dodging to the side it opened its talents latching on to the side of Ajax only for it to pull off and screech in pain as ajax's body had become so superheated it had been lightly covered in Black flames.
The rathalos not want to give up went in for another talon attack only for Ajax to literally duck and raise his tail and swing it downwards diagonally literally slapping the rathalos with such force it knocked it out of the sky and slashed it's right eye out as the rathalos fell to the ground squirming and swinging its wings around.
Ajax approached he saw a light in the rathalos mouth as he was about to bite down it opened its mouth and fired a fireball directly into his face it made his head turn to the side from the force Ajax turned back to the so-called "King of the skies" with his eyes blazing Red he reopened his maw and bit down on the neck of the rathalos as it squirmed around flapping its wings and scratching at his neck.
Ajax landed into the ground making it struggle harder before doing it again and again before throwing it into the air and firing a black fireball covered with dragon energy the rathalos true to its king of the sky name decided not to run but instead challenge the fireball is it closed its mouth and its remaining eye putting as much fire into its throat has a good it fired a large fireball with slightly blue and pink flames around it.
As the two balls of fire collided pushing against each other they exploded in blue pink black and red electricity but through the smoke Ajax shot a quick blast of dragon energy knocking the rathalos directly out of the sky sending crashing to the ground.
Ajax didn't bother and even going to kill it in his mind he had one and his pride had been saved he walked back to his nest site as he returned he curled up and went to sleep hoping you would help him get a grasp of his new power.
Meanwhile above him Miko and patch were watching through their footage they've got an amazing new turf wars all they had to do was wait for tomorrow to see if the Glavenus would undergo any changes.
The next day Ajax went under some changes all right his metal skin became black with white stripes and he grew way bigger like the size of a sub adult glavenus and his tailblade had spikes on the bladed part for extra penetration and that wasn't all when he wasn't in a rage state his flames became black and they could only assume when he was enraged they would turn white.
After documenting his changes Miko and her son patch we're done with the research expedition and proceeded to return to the research commission with unseen events they waited a little longer to see what he would do but he only proceeded to go about his normal day well it's normal for a monster as it could get.
As Ajax feasted upon a freshly killed aptonoth he watched as Miko and her son left as he wondered to himself ajax:'wouId my existence causing problems...eh probably not'. as he went back to eating he watched the sunset after proclaiming a spot as the apex predator of the moonlight plains.
He thought of something that he wanted to do at least once he stood up and roared into the sunset startling every creature around as he returned to his den for another peaceful night of sleep.
