Chapter 265 - Chapter 265: Peter's Video Logs

Peter activated his suit's recording function as he stood in his quarters aboard a Republic cruiser.

"Okay... so..." The teenager stared at his reflection in the viewport, still wearing his mask. "I'm in space! Like, actual space! Where the other Avengers go on missions! Can you believe it?! I'm in space with the Avengers! And... we somehow got caught up in this massive war... a war between battle droids and clone armies."

The excitement in his voice was infectious as he continued his impromptu video diary.

"It's like every kid from Queens' wildest dream! And I'm actually living it!"

After a few more minutes of enthusiastic rambling, he heard a gentle knock on his door and a familiar voice from the other side.

"Peter, are you alright in there?"

"Oh, uh... yeah, I'm fine! Come in, Ahsoka."

Ahsoka Tano entered the room with a curious expression on her blue and white striped face.

"Who were you talking to?" she asked with genuine puzzlement.

"Well, I'm making video logs for myself."

"Video logs?"

"Yeah, like a digital diary."

"Ah." Ahsoka nodded in understanding. "What for?"

"Because this is incredible! Not many people from my planet can say they've been to space and met a thousand different species in a single week," Peter said earnestly, earning a burst of laughter from his new friend.

Ahsoka chuckled at her friend's infectious enthusiasm.

"I suppose that's true."

The recording cuts to Peter's first-person perspective as he web-swings through the bustling cityscape of Coruscant, the galactic capital.

"Woooooooo!"

It was obvious to anyone viewing the footage just how much Peter was enjoying himself.

After all, it wasn't every day that your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man got to web-swing through an alien metropolis spanning an entire planet.

But he wasn't doing this purely for thrills.

While the experience required significant adjustment, Peter had several reasons for his aerial patrols.

First, the obvious one—it was exhilarating, and he wanted to experience as many aspects of this planet's diverse culture as possible during his stay.

Second was to learn about different species and familiarize himself with their new temporary home at the Jedi Temple.

Third was the sense of peace he felt while swinging through the city, patrolling and helping those in need—something that reminded him of home.

Fourth, and finally, it allowed him to make deliveries to places that would be difficult for normal beings to reach.

When he reached a residential tower, he reached behind his back and retrieved something strapped to his web-shooters.

The apartment door opened, revealing a blue-skinned alien that reminded him of Earth's early depictions of extraterrestrial life. He remembered these beings were called Duros.

Peter held up a metallic food container.

"Delivery service!" Peter said cheerfully.

"Oh, wonderful! Thank you," the Duros said gratefully, accepting the container from him.

The alien offered him a small tip, which Peter accepted with a nod of thanks before launching himself back into the city's skyline.

The recording montage flashed through several more memorable moments: Peter sharing Earth donuts with Coruscant Guard troopers, relaxing aboard a Republic cruiser with members of the 501st Legion, fighting alongside Sam and Wanda, and joining combined operations with Avengers, Jedi, and clone forces across various worlds.

The final video segment showed Peter recording himself sitting between two of his closest friends—relationships that had deepened during his time on Coruscant and throughout the galaxy.

"Hey, Aunt May, it's Peter," he said, waving at the camera with slightly less enthusiasm than before. "I don't know if this recording will ever reach you, or find its way to you somehow, but I just miss you so much..."

Peter's shoulders slumped slightly as he sighed with obvious homesickness.

Ahsoka and Barriss exchanged a meaningful look before moving closer to their friend.

"Hello, Ms. May," Ahsoka said warmly to the camera. "Your nephew is doing wonderfully here. We've been taking good care of him during his stay."

"He's been an excellent friend to both of us," Barriss added with her characteristic serene smile.

Meanwhile, on the lush planet of Naboo...

In the eastern swamplands, several figures stood on the landing platform, expressions of shock and horror etched on their faces.

Beside them, a mad scientist cackled with sadistic pleasure as he ranted about the "liberation" of the Blue Shadow Virus.

"You are all doomed!" Dr. Vindi laughed maniacally. "The virus has been released, and this planet will—"

The deranged scientist was effectively silenced by a swift right hook from Rhodes directly to his jaw.

Anakin immediately activated his comlink. "Ahsoka, what's happening down there? Report!"

Deep within the compromised facility, Ahsoka ran alongside Barriss, Natasha, Captain Rex, and several clone troopers, all fleeing from the advancing blue cloud of death rolling toward them through the corridors.

"The laboratory has been breached!" Ahsoka replied into her wrist communicator while running. "The virus is spreading!"

"There's a secure chamber ahead!" Barriss shouted, pointing down the corridor.

The blue mist surged through the passageway like a deadly tsunami, and blast doors began sealing in sequence as the contamination approached.

"We've reached the safe room!" Captain Rex called out.

"It's closing too fast!"

"Hurry! The door's sealing!"

In a critical moment, the descending blast door suddenly stopped.

Natasha glanced to her side, seeing both Padawans using the Force to halt the door's descent.

"Don't worry about us," Barriss said calmly, straining with the effort.

"Get inside!" Ahsoka commanded.

As the last clone trooper dove through the gap, Natasha quickly rolled inside.

Once everyone was through, Rex called back to the Padawans. "Come on! Move!"

They nodded, seeing the pair of clone troopers desperately trying to manually hold the heavy blast door. After releasing their Force grip, both teenagers watched as the clones struggled to maintain their hold on the descending barrier.

The Padawans barely made it through the narrowing gap before the blast door slammed shut with finality.

Within moments, communications crackled to life.

"Please tell me everyone made it to safety."

Natasha was the first to respond. "We're secure in the safe room for now. But we have a problem."

"What kind of problem?" Ahsoka asked.

"The remaining battle droids are still active in the facility. They'll undoubtedly try to break containment."

"We have to do everything possible to stop them," Barriss declared.

"But we don't have any environmental suits to protect against the virus," Ahsoka pointed out with concern.

"We cannot allow this plague to escape the facility, or Naboo will face extinction," Barriss countered firmly.

"Then what's our biggest concern?" Rex asked pragmatically.

Natasha's voice carried grim certainty as she delivered the devastating news: "I saw some of the virus get into this room. The blast door didn't seal fast enough."

The implications hung heavy in the recycled air of their supposed sanctuary. They were no longer just trying to contain the virus—they were now infected with it themselves.
