Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Steve arrived first at the abandoned droid base and respectfully greeted Thi-Sen, the chieftain of the Talz delegation.
Thi-Sen nodded acknowledgment to the three negotiators and struck his chest with his fist to demonstrate that he had honored his commitment to peaceful dialogue.
Obi-Wan bowed diplomatically and said: "Chief Thi-Sen, we have arrived as promised, accompanied by Galactic Republic Senator Riyo Chuchi and Pantoran Chairman Chi Cho."
Chuchi and C-3PO approached to offer their greetings, but were immediately interrupted by Chi Cho's aggressive intervention.
C-3PO expressed Chuchi's diplomatic intentions, speaking in the complex Talz language: "Chieftain Thi-Sen, the Senator welcomes this opportunity for dialogue. She hopes that our peoples can establish friendly relations as neighboring civilizations."
Chi Cho growled with obvious contempt: "These savage primitives have no legitimate rights here whatsoever."
C-3PO continued serving as interpreter: "Chief Thi-Sen acknowledges the galactic war currently raging. He wishes his people to remain neutral, avoid all conflict, and live in peaceful isolation."
However, Chi Cho had no interest in diplomatic niceties and roughly seized the protocol droid, turning it to face him while glaring at Thi-Sen with undisguised hostility: "Listen carefully, machine. You will translate every word I say exactly as I speak it."
Hearing this aggressive tone, Chuchi attempted to intervene: "Chairman, we must proceed with extreme caution here. We cannot afford to—"
Chi Cho cut her off sternly: "Senator, it is not your place to speak during these proceedings, and there is absolutely no need for diplomatic courtesy with these animals."
Chi Cho stepped forward menacingly but was blocked by Steve's firm intervention.
"Remove your hands from me immediately, Captain Rogers."
Steve stared directly at Chi Cho with unwavering resolve: "Chairman, you cannot start a war here. Master Kenobi has confirmed that the Talz are recognized citizens of the Republic. This means that Senator Chuchi represents Pantoran interests in this matter, not you."
Obi-Wan also supported this position: "Chairman, Captain Rogers is entirely correct about the legal protocols."
Chi Cho roughly pushed Steve's restraining arm away: "This has now become an internal Pantoran matter, which means that neither the Republic nor the Jedi Council has any authority to intervene."
Steve and Sam exchanged meaningful glances before Steve replied: "We don't belong to any of the governmental bodies you mentioned, so you can consider us neutral third parties. We support the Talz people's right to exist here, so if you want a fight, you can try to go through us first."
Chi Cho's face flushed with rage, and then he addressed Thi-Sen directly with barely controlled fury: "Listen carefully, you primitive barbarian. This moon belongs to the Pantoran satellite system. As the supreme leader and absolute ruler of Pantora, nothing happens on this world without my explicit authorization. Otherwise, I will drive every last one of you away at any cost necessary."
Chairman Chi Cho departed after his inflammatory declaration, leaving behind a stunned Chuchi and the increasingly angered Jedi and Avengers.
"Well, everything that arrogant politician just said was complete garbage," Sam muttered with obvious disgust.
Thi-Sen appeared ready to leave after hearing C-3PO's translation of the hostile ultimatum.
Chuchi quickly stepped forward with urgent diplomacy: "Chief Thi-Sen, what Chairman Cho said to you was completely inappropriate and offensive, but he cannot and does not represent all Pantoran people. Please allow me additional time to resolve this situation. We will find a peaceful solution and depart from your world."
Chief Thi-Sen studied Chuchi carefully for several long moments, then nodded slightly before departing with his delegation.
"So what's our next move here?" Sam asked with obvious frustration.
Obi-Wan analyzed the situation: "Chairman Chi Cho's desire to attack the Talz is both highly illegal under Republic law and morally unconscionable. We need someone with legitimate authority to override his decisions, since he clearly refuses to acknowledge Senator Chuchi's counsel."
Chuchi considered the options for several seconds, then her expression brightened with realization: "The Speaker of Parliament! He possesses the constitutional authority to overturn the Chairman's decisions and actions."
Steve agreed: "Then we'd better establish contact with him immediately while the weather conditions improve enough for communication."
Obi-Wan nodded with urgency: "We must return to the base without delay."
"General," Rex addressed Anakin with tactical concern, "what are our operational orders regarding Chairman Chi Cho?"
Anakin issued clear instructions: "Maintain protective detail around Chairman Chi Cho, but under absolutely no circumstances are you to participate in any aggressive actions or hostile confrontations. Your mission is purely defensive—protect Pantoran leadership while avoiding provocation of the Talz."
Chairman Chi Cho positioned himself in front of the clone squadron, his eyes constantly scanning the surrounding terrain as he searched for Talz targets.
Behind him, several clone troopers engaged in quiet conversation about their uncomfortable situation.
"Why exactly are we doing this?" Fives asked with obvious confusion.
"Because the blue-skinned politician wants to start a war," Hardcase replied bluntly.
Rex spoke with firm authority: "We are not here to initiate combat. Our mission is to ensure Chairman Chi Cho's survival, but we cannot and will not provoke the Talz people under any circumstances. Is that clearly understood?"
Suddenly, Rex shouted an urgent warning: "Defensive positions!"
The clone troopers quickly established a protective perimeter using their speeder bikes as mobile cover.
Chi Cho demanded angrily: "Captain, what are you doing?! Why aren't you ordering an attack?"
Rex replied with professional stoicism: "Following orders, sir."
Meanwhile, Senator Chuchi was conducting a critical remote communication session with the Speaker of the Pantoran Parliament from the outpost's communication center.
The Speaker's holographic image conveyed official authority: "In light of recent events and reports, the Parliamentary Assembly deems Chairman Chi Cho's actions inappropriate and dangerous to Pantoran interests. Therefore, his executive authority is hereby suspended indefinitely. Senator Chuchi, you now possess full authorization to conduct peace negotiations on behalf of the Pantoran people with the Talz leadership."
Chuchi responded with solemn dedication: "Speaker, I will not disappoint you or our people."
As the official communication concluded, Obi-Wan organized everyone to return immediately to the confrontation site, fearing that bloodshed was imminent without intervention.
Steve asked with tactical interest: "Senator, now that you have official authorization, how do you intend to resolve this crisis with the Talz?"
Chuchi hesitated, looking at the assembled Avengers and Jedi with obvious uncertainty: "Well... I was hoping one of you might handle this negotiation on behalf of Pantora, since each of you possesses far more diplomatic and military experience than I do."
Sam replied with gentle but firm refusal: "I'm sorry, Chuchi, but that's not why we're here, and besides, we couldn't represent your people even if we wanted to."
Anakin also reinforced this position: "He's absolutely right, Senator. You must resolve this matter personally. We cannot and should not represent Pantoran interests in your place."
Chuchi's expression showed obvious distress because she felt too young and inexperienced to handle such a complex diplomatic crisis.
Sam looked at the young Senator seriously and offered crucial encouragement: "Remember, you represent all your people of Pantora within the Galactic Republic. That authority and responsibility belongs to you alone."
These words seemed to ignite something within her, and her expression became more determined and confident.
After arriving at the conflict zone, their gunship landed at a safe distance from the confrontation. As they disembarked, they were horrified to see numerous clone troopers wounded, with several having paid the ultimate price. All of this carnage had resulted from one individual's reckless actions.
Anakin shouted with urgent authority: "Everyone cease fire immediately and evacuate the wounded to the gunship now!"
Among the casualties was Chairman Chi Cho himself, who struggled to remain standing while still glaring with venomous hatred at the Talz warriors.
Although his vision was severely impaired from his injuries, he managed to see Senator Chuchi approaching his position. He reached out desperately to grab her and gasped: "You... you must... avenge me. As Chairman of Pantora, I order you to... kill them all—"
Chuchi responded with calm but unwavering firmness: "I'm sorry, Chairman, but I will not follow such orders. By direct command of the Parliamentary Council, you are hereby relieved of all authority because your actions do not represent the will or interests of the Pantoran people."
Chi Cho stared at her in shock for several long moments before stammering: "That's... that's impossible..."
Before he could complete his protest, he collapsed into the snow and lay motionless. A clone medic quickly checked for vital signs and then announced solemnly: "The former Chairman of Pantora is deceased."
For young Senator Chuchi, witnessing Chi Cho's death was deeply unsettling, but she forced herself to focus on the critical tasks that still required her immediate attention.
Chuchi approached the nearest clone trooper and requested his blaster rifle, then removed her outer coat and wrapped it around the weapon's barrel. She walked purposefully through the line of defensive speeder bikes and advanced toward Thi-Sen's position.
Thi-Sen raised his hands to signal his warriors to hold their positions and maintain restraint.
The representatives of both civilizations now stood facing each other across a small expanse of snow-covered ground. Chuchi raised the rifle high above her head, and the Talz chieftain watched her warily until she deliberately dropped the weapon into the snow at her feet.
Chuchi spoke with gentle but resolute conviction: "To die for one's people may be considered a noble sacrifice, but to live for one's people represents an even greater sacrifice. I choose to live for my people and bear the responsibilities they have entrusted to me. What is your choice, Chief Thi-Sen?"
After a series of clicking vocalizations and guttural sounds, Thi-Sen raised his ceremonial spear and appeared ready to strike down the young Senator, but Chuchi remained completely motionless, demonstrating that she would not abandon her peaceful principles even in the face of death.
Instead of attacking her, Thi-Sen placed his spear beside the discarded rifle in a gesture of mutual disarmament.
"Chief Thi-Sen has also chosen to live for his people," C-3PO translated, and a relieved smile appeared on Chuchi's face.
"From this day forward, the people of Pantora officially recognize the sovereignty of the Talz people on the moon Orto Plutonia," Chuchi declared with obvious relief and satisfaction.
Thi-Sen responded, and C-3PO provided translation: "Chief Thi-Sen hopes that your people will extend the same recognition to Pantoran territorial rights, and he wishes to establish a lasting peaceful relationship between our civilizations."
Then, Chief Thi-Sen surprised Chuchi with an enthusiastic bear hug, while Steve, Obi-Wan, and Anakin behind her winced sympathetically, knowing from personal experience how physically overwhelming the Talz chieftain's friendly embraces could be.
After setting her down gently, Thi-Sen spoke one final statement, which C-3PO translated with obvious humor in his vocal modulation: "The chieftain says that if the Senator wishes to visit Talz territory, she may come and go freely at any time. The Talz people will always welcome her presence."
Chuchi smiled warmly and nodded respectfully to Thi-Sen.
Both leaders stepped back and bowed to each other with ceremonial dignity, establishing lasting peace between their peoples through this brief but significant diplomatic resolution.
When Chuchi returned to the Republic forces, she observed the final wounded clone troopers being loaded into the medical transport, while the fallen clone heroes were being prepared for proper burial ceremonies elsewhere.
"You accomplished something truly remarkable here, Chuchi," Sam said with genuine admiration.
"Thank you, Sam. This had to be done for the future wellbeing of both our peoples."
As the group prepared to board their gunship and depart from Orto Plutonia, Obi-Wan offered important counsel: "Now that you have successfully established peace with the Talz on behalf of all Pantoran people, you need to understand something vital about your responsibilities going forward."
"What is that, Master Kenobi?"
"You must ensure that this hard-earned peace between your civilizations continues to be maintained and honored. Set a positive example for other species throughout the galaxy so that similar conflicts can be resolved through diplomacy rather than violence."
Chuchi straightened her posture with renewed confidence, her eyes gleaming with determination: "Master Kenobi, I pledge to do everything within my power to honor that responsibility!"
