Cherreads

Chapter 40 - 39

She knew she had to back away. She bit her lower lip as she felt her orgasm washing over her in waves. It was so intense her legs shook.

They both ended up losing their footing and falling on the bed. They were both laying on their sides now. She thought Adolf would have stopped to allow them to adjust to the new position, but he did not. He kept plundering her sweet treasure. His hands squeezed her breasts.

His thumb rolled her nipple, hardening it instantly. The sensation made her wetter and she knew she could no longer hold back. Her hands were searching for him. She needed to touch him. She needed to feel him.

It was like he was reading her mind. His fingers laced with hers and their lovemaking slowed down. Her body wasn't ready for the change up and she felt herself shatter and pulse all over his shaft. Seconds later she felt him pulsing inside of her as his forehead rested in-between her sweat glistened shoulders.

Bouvier lay there enjoying the warm, glowy feeling she was experiencing after their session. That was one of the most passionate encounters they had in a long time. His cold demeanor was still there, but Bouvier could not deny their chemistry. Adolf Sat up. Bouvier took that as her cue to leave. She stood up from the bed.

Her legs felt like jelly. A feeling she rarely had. She picked up her silk gown, and lace robe.

"Where do you think you are going?" He asked her. His tone is rough now.

She turned around. He was lying across the bed fully naked, except for the half mask he wore. "I- I have fulfilled my ..er... duty to you, King Alpha. I thought my services were no longer needed tonight. Apologies."

He got up from the bed, pulled back the fur covers, and got in. "I am waiting for you." He told her.

"You want me to sleep here, tonight?" She was confused.

"We just discussed where you belong, didn't we?" He asked her.

She nodded her head 'yes', but knew it hadn't been a conversation. He had commanded her to be his life in Courtesan. This was not what Bouvier wanted, or ever imagined.

She draped her clothing over the large leather chair that sat directly in front of the oversized fireplace. She walked back over to him and got in bed with him.

She was a few inches away from him. He pulled her close to him and forced her head on his shoulder. Bouvier had not been cuddled by a man in over a decade. This feeling was unfamiliar.

She didn't know if she liked it or not. Her profession always told her never to get too close to the customers and never show affection after the deed is done, because it can form bonds that will interfere with business. This was Adolf. The man she had once given her heart and her body to. That was so long ago.

She didn't know this Adolf. She just knew she had to do what he wanted to survive this war and his home. They lay there in comfortable silence. Bouvier thought he was drifting off to sleep when he asked her a question."Tell me about this girl my son has married."

Bouvier was caught off guard. She answered him, "She isn't much. Her mother worked for me at wildcatz. She was one of my stars."

"Was?"

"Yes, she is the one who ran off with the leader of the Lycans. I can not prove it, but I know she had something to do with the fire." She explained.

"What about Sylvie?" He asked. "Would she cavort with Lycans?"

"No. Sylvie is rare. She has lived on her own since she was 11. She is a very clever girl. She has no one else on the island, except for her mother. I don't know why she loves that woman. She tried to kill us all." Bouvier said the last sentence with disdain.

"You and I both know we have no control over who our families are and what unfailing loyalty to them can do

I went along with my son's plan because I believe we can end the war, but I am not so sure why he chose this timid girl to marry. At dinner tonight, she was out of place, and in our society, a woman who is out of place is a dead woman."

His words scared Bouvier. Sylvie was too innocent and she hated that she agreed with him. Louve was already sizing her up and ready to do more harm than good.

"She is barely a woman," Bouvier told him.

"In our society, if she is of marrying age she is a woman. This month is our annual pack gathering, and I cannot stress enough that she must be prepared or she can be gravely injured. My son's reputation will be challenged."

"What would you have me do?" Bouvier asked. "You have put his ex-betrothed in charge of her lessons."

"I need you to be my eyes and ears. Yes, I did put my son's ex-betrothed in charge of his new wife, but I had no choice. Their betrothal was destined since their births. Her entire family was shamed by my son's careless actions, but now I feel as if Louve and her family could be making a play for the crown. Since I am no longer reigning King Alpha and it falls upon my son. I have no say in this matter. Do you understand now? I need you, Sonia... more than you think."

Bouvier was at a loss for words. His words were the opposite of his strict actions. He wanted her to help him. It reminded her of the times on the Island when she would be his lookout. The brothel had become a gem of intel.

She had been able to freely move about the island and garner bribes for women and information. This manner, however, was not her own. She was not accustomed to policy, procedures, and the structure of the hierarchy that was entangled in the Loux Gareaux lifestyle. There was once a time she had been jealous of Adolf's wife. For surely, she was royalty and treated as such, but now that she was here living in this cold manor.

She realized that his wife was not like normal human women who needed reassurance, love, and affection from their partners. Bouvier was learning a Loux Gareaux woman was just as tough, if not tougher than their male counterpart. Bouvier was crafty, not tough. She had never learned hand-to-hand combat nor had she learned the etiquette of the Loux Gareaux woman. She hated to admit it, but she was no better than Sylvie in this instant.

She was considered a weak, low-born, whore, whose only purpose was to keep the past King Alpha sated in his desires. The women here would never let her be a part of their group, just like the local women on the Island. Her profession was her curse. Her lifestyle was a millstone around her neck. She just wanted everything to go back to normal. She wanted her life before the war before she became the most notorious Madame of Canis Island.

"I will do it for you, my Lord." She said.

He kissed her on top of her head, "Sleep." He told her, and the odd couple drifted off in the wee hours of the night....

| Sylvie |

Sylvie had been nervous at dinner. Not just because her father-in-law had just told her she was not welcome only a few hours ago, but because of the very revealing gown Louve had given her. It was a purple, velvet gown with a deep plunging neckline that showed off too much of Sylvie's body for her liking.

Louve had assured her this was the style she had to adhere to, but when she entered the dining hall, she noticed Louve was wearing a more modest gown similar to the one she was going to choose. Sylvie knew then Louve would not help, nor would she play fair, and it would be up to her to survive this dinner and any other things that came up.

She had felt extremely out of place and kept her mouth shut as Louve and King Alpha spoke about Randolf. She knew so much about him. Sylvie felt incompetent. This was the first time she had heard any stories about her new husband. From what she had gathered, he appeared to be a good wolf. Louve sounded a little obsessed with him, but his father didn't seem to mind the talk. When it was her turn, and he asked her what Randolf and she had in common, Sylvie froze....
