Cherreads

Chapter 96 - 96

The two of them were so tired that they had to sleep."Acupuncture points for sleepiness."

Caesar received Jiro and gently pressed Erza's body to help her sleep more soundly. He got up and carried her to the bed.

He gently covered her with a blanket, and Porlyusica's voice came from the side. "Is the prosthesis okay?"Caesar looked at the wooden prosthesis on his right leg and thought it felt just like a pirate captain's leg.

"Not very good. I feel like my leg is less flexible."Caesar tapped the hard wooden leg with a look of disgust.

"It's good to have it, don't be picky," Porlyusica snorted coldly, clearly unhappy with his complaint.

"Forget it, I'll do it myself."Caesar sighed, instantly activating Giorno, and the Golden Experience touched the prosthesis.

Vigorous vitality flowed into the prosthesis, and the wooden leg instantly turned into flesh and blood."Crazy Diamond."

After a few bursts of power, the new leg fused directly with Caesar's body."Well, it feels a little uncomfortable."

It was like reconnecting a severed limb — slightly stiff, but…"Accept, Inoue Orihime."

The power of rejection gathered in the new leg. Soon, Caesar no longer felt any resistance. His original leg was back.

"Not bad."He moved it around and nodded with satisfaction.

Unfortunately, if Inoue Orihime's card was used to directly repair a broken body through rejection, the magic cost would be too high. This method consumed far less magic.

After all, one rejects the reality of a missing limb, the other rejects discomfort in a new limb. The difference is huge.

Porlyusica watched him work, stunned that he could turn a prosthetic into a living, flexible leg.She couldn't help but wonder if she should even keep her pharmacy consultant job.

After some movement, Caesar confirmed he could run and jump without issue. He then walked over to the unconscious Gildarts.

Gildarts' injuries were far worse than in the original story.Half a lung, a kidney, half a stomach, and part of his intestines were gone.Along with missing flesh and bone, even survival would normally mean a crippled life.

For Caesar, this was fixable — but not painless.

He found a dagger and cut away the gauze covering Gildarts' thin, battered body, revealing a terrifying view of his internal organs.

Picking up a strip of gauze, Caesar infused it with vitality. A length of intestines formed. Then, with Crazy Diamond's power, he restored them in place.

The shock woke Gildarts instantly."I… what are you doing, Caesar?!"

Caesar held up a kidney he had just formed. "Assembling you."

Before Gildarts could protest, Caesar shoved the new kidney in place, repairing the damage.Even Gildarts, tough as he was, howled in pain, waking Cana nearby.

Cana blinked groggily, only to see Caesar stuffing organs, bones, and muscles into her father like some mad scientist.

"Cana, wake up," Caesar called. "I'm running out of good materials. Bring me some junk to work with."

"Huh? Oh… okay!"

When she saw Caesar turn a scrap of gauze into a rib and jam it into Gildarts' chest, she understood immediately.

She soon returned with broken glass, a busted chair leg, half-melted metal rods, and more.Caesar accepted them without disgust.Gildarts: I do feel disgusted!

Caesar inserted various items, infusing them with vitality until they became restored bones.Piece by piece, Gildarts' body was rebuilt.

Finally, with Inoue Orihime's rejection power to finish the job, Gildarts collapsed from the pain, only to punch Caesar on the head.

Caesar's ears rang."Stupid kid, can't you be gentler?"

"You have no idea how bad your injuries were. Be grateful you're alive," Caesar retorted.

Gildarts scratched his head awkwardly. "Thanks.""It's fine. If you hadn't stepped in earlier, he would've succeeded."

Caesar sighed. He had used his full power, but the gap between him and Acnologia was still massive.Their escape had been pure luck. If they had stayed, he would have surely lost.

Caesar and Gildarts returned to the guild with Erza and Cana.As soon as they arrived, Master called them in.

"The news of your injuries has spread across Fiore," Master said. "Many saw the state you were in. Thankfully, Caesar had enough strength to save you. Otherwise, we'd have lost two S-Class wizards."

"Is Joseph making moves?" Caesar smirked. If Joseph wasn't disciplined soon, he'd think he could act freely again.

"There are signs," Master said calmly. "Tell me what happened."

Caesar took a deep breath and recounted everything.Gildarts simply said, "The mission failed," keeping the details secret.

"The legendary black dragon Acnologia has reappeared… this world is not at peace," Master sighed.

He knew surviving Acnologia's attack was a miracle."Rest for now. I'll suppress news about this for a while. Especially you, Caesar — keep things calm and don't make Erza worry."

"Yeah, I know."Caesar nodded, ready to face the storm in his heart.
