After the overwhelming night, Shen Mu slept in until late morning and woke up to find it was already 11 o'clock. She got up, washed and changed her clothes before heading downstairs. As she walked towards the kitchen, she heard the sound of clanging and banging. The villa had an open-plan kitchen, and there was Huo Yunxiao standing in front of the stove, holding a spatula and staring at the fried eggs in the pan. He was wearing black trousers and a light grey shirt with subtle patterns, with the sleeves rolled up to reveal his muscular forearms and slightly bulging veins. The sunlight shone through the window and fell on him, making him look warm and inviting even from behind.
Shen Mu called out to him softly, "Huo Yunxiao." He turned around and looked at her, his eyes filled with doting affection. "Are you awake?" he asked. Shen Mu nodded and replied, "Yes, I am."
