Chapter 429 - Chapter 428: A beautiful girl running, earnest, and drenched in sweat—isn't that the best?

"Feixiao, let's end today's treatment here."

"How are you feeling?"

"Any discomfort?"

On her second day on the Luofu, after completing the day's "treatment" at Feixiao's residence, Lumina turned to her.

"I'm much better, feeling far more comfortable than before," Feixiao replied, assessing her physical condition with a nod.

Though no significant physical changes were evident, Feixiao genuinely felt more at ease.

Miss Lumina truly lives up to her reputation as a Cosmos-roaming Physician—she's truly remarkable.

Staring at Lumina's beauty, which rivaled her fame and reputation, Feixiao couldn't help but sigh inwardly.

"Good. This proves the treatment is effective," Lumina said, nodding with a warm smile.

Hmph, she thought to herself, addressing the System. See? I told you this treatment would work~

In reality, Lumina hadn't actually treated Feixiao's Moon Rage at all over the past two days. She had merely alleviated her physical fatigue.

Feixiao, however, remained oblivious, still laboring under the delusion that her Moon Rage symptoms were being treated.

Doesn't Feixiao's actions prove anything?

Sometimes, psychological symptoms can be far more terrifying than physical ones.

Having wandered through several Amber Eras, Lumina had witnessed everything imaginable.

Healing the mind first is the key to healing the body, she had concluded.

[ I misunderstood you... ]

[ I never imagined you could be such a noble person. ]

Lumina's words, coupled with her genuine lack of interference with Feixiao over the past two days, stirred a pang of guilt in the System's heart.

"It's alright," Lumina chuckled softly, accepting the System's apology. "If you can apologize, you'll be forgiven."

"Sister Lumina," Feixiao called out, having already dressed and risen from the bed while Lumina and the System were conversing.

"Mm? What is it?"

"Do you like running?" Feixiao asked.

"Running?" Lumina repeated the word softly, then shook her head.

Running... that's not really my thing.

With the Emanator's Blessing, running was effortless for Lumina.

She could confidently claim that among all non-Emanator and non-Aeon beings in the Cosmos, none could outrun her.

After all, Emanators operated on principles beyond reason.

As for why she didn't run?

Well, it simply didn't suit her image. Plus, Lumina herself was naturally lazy; running was utterly out of the question.

"I see," Feixiao nodded, unsurprised by Lumina's response.

It would have been far more shocking if Lumina had actually enjoyed running.

Without dwelling on the matter, Feixiao continued, "Sister Lumina, would you like to try it? Running makes the time pass quickly and feels really good."

"No, thank you," Lumina shook her head, rising to her feet. "Since today's treatment is finished, I'll be going now."

"Goodbye," Lumina waved casually, not waiting for Feixiao's reply before turning to leave.

"Mm, goodbye, Sister Lumina," Feixiao waved back at Lumina's departing figure, a flicker of self-reproach in her eyes.

Feixiao blamed herself for saying the wrong thing.

She had invited Sister Lumina for a run, only to abruptly leave moments later. What else could it be but a blunder?

"Sigh... I really am too impatient," Feixiao murmured, rubbing her head and sighing in resignation.

Being around Lumina always made Feixiao feel inexplicably at ease. She couldn't quite pinpoint the source of this comfort, but that only fueled her desire to explore it further. She longed to spend more time with Sister Lumina, unraveling this connection.

But aside from official duties, combat, and healing, she had no legitimate reason to ask Sister Lumina to stay.

The only flimsy excuse she could muster was the invitation to run.

Judging by Lumina's reaction earlier, it seemed she hadn't stayed, but instead left with a hint of annoyance.

"Hmm... After the run, I'll go buy her an apology gift."

Sister Lumina had been unconditionally treating Feixiao's Moon Rage symptoms, yet Feixiao had somehow managed to offend her. She couldn't possibly let this go unacknowledged.

As for what gift to buy...

Hmm...

"I'll ask Jiaoqiu and Moze when the time comes."

"There are so many people... I wonder what the Luofu is thinking."

"With this many people, you'd think they'd control the crowds better."

"If the Borisin launch an attack from behind, a huge number of people will die."

Xianzhou Luofu, Central Starskiff Haven.

Oblivious to Feixiao's inner thoughts, Lumina gazed at the still-crowded streets before her, a headache brewing. She couldn't help but mentally criticize the Luofu's management.

"Sigh... If only I'd stayed at Feixiao's place earlier." Having made her choice, Lumina couldn't blame anyone but herself, letting out a resigned sigh.

Just being with Feixiao would have been enough. Even if I didn't run, I could have stood by and watched her.

A beautiful girl running, focused, dripping with sweat... isn't that the best?

But what was "best" for others might not be the same for Lumina.

She wasn't such a shallow person; she had no interest in such things... Well, really.

It definitely wasn't because Lumina wanted to meet another beautiful girl that she left Feixiao's place...

"Let me think..."

"Where does the Alchemy Commission's Starskiff depart from again?"

Lumina lowered her head, pondering silently.
