In the Server Desert; Lincoln, Clyde, Zach, Liam, Rusty, Luna, Lynn Jr, Lana, and all their Digimon partners, were sitting on some rocks, drinking some water.
"How did you guys handle this heat before?" Lynn asked the boys.
"Bringing water helped." said Liam.
"And this is nothing compared to what Logic Volcano is like." said Clyde.
"Oh, great." Luna sarcastically replied.
"Let's hurry so we can get going." said Lincoln.
Just then, they hear some noise coming from over the sand dune behind them all.
"What's that?" asked Lana. They all put their canteens away and check out what the commotion was; they see a long line of Gotsumon with shackles on their wrists, ankles, and necks, being led through the desert by a large, humanoid vulture Digimon wearing a skull cap made of, well, a skull; a dark brown cloak with green spiky shoulder pads, baggy pants with a skull and crossbones on one of the legs, pointing a sniper rifle with a scythe blade it had for an arm, at them.
"Gotsumon." said Zach's partner.
"Are they prisoners?" asked Lincoln. They also see that alongside the line of Gotsumon were several large Digimon that looked like they were made out of sand with orange drill-like spikes on their hands and going down their backs.
"What are those guys?" asked Lana as she points her Digivice at one of the sand Digimon. "Those are Landramon: Champion Level, Mineral Type, Virus Attribute; their special attack is Terra Spike."
"What about that bird one?" asked Clyde. Liam points his Digivice at the humanoid vulture one to get an answer to that question.
"That there's Vulturemon." said Liam. "It's an Ultimate Level, Bird Man Type, Virus Attribute; its special attack is Reaper Strike."
"Move it you walking piles of pebbles!" shouts the Digimon now known as Vulturemon. "If we're not at GranKuwagamon's base by sundown, you're all gonna be Digi-gravel!"
"Who's GranKuwagamon?" asked Clyde.
"Probably one of the guys who Titamon was working with." said Zach.
"Well, I'm not letting them push my brothers and sisters around." said Zach's partner.
"Let's take them down!" said Lynn as she and her siblings and Lincoln's friends all bring out their Digivices/artifacts and push the buttons on them; their partner Digimon begin spinning.
"Agumon, Digivolve to..." said Agumon as he kept spinning until he became GeoGreymon.
"...GEOGREYMON!" shouts GeoGreymon. Lincoln pushes another button his artifact and GeoGreymon began to spin. "GeoGreymon, Digivolve to..." A cyclone of fire surrounds GeoGreymon; the fiery cyclone vanishes, revealing RizeGreymon.
"...RIZEGREYMON!" shouts RizeGreymon.
"Gaomon, Digivolve to..." said Gaomon as he continued to spin until he became Gaogamon.
"...GAOGAMON!" shouts Gaogamon. Clyde pushes another button on his artifact and Gaogamon began to spin. "Gaogamon, Digivolve to..." A blue energy cyclone surrounds Gaogamon. The energy cyclone vanishes, revealing MachGaogamon.
"...MACHGAOGAMON!" shouts MachGaogamon.
"Kudamon, Digivolve to..." said Kudamon as he continued to spin until he became Reppamon.
"...REPPAMON!" shouts Reppamon. Liam pushes another button on his artifact and he began spinning. "Reppamon, Digivolve to..." A pillar of light surrounds Reppamon; it soon vanishes, revealing Chirinmon.
"...CHIRINMON!" shouts Chirinmon.
"Elecmon, Digivolve to..." said Elecmon as he kept spinning until he became Leomon.
"...LEOMON!" shouts Leomon. Rusty pushes another button on his artifact and Leomon began to spin. "Leomon, Digivolve to..." He began spinning really fast; he stopped spinning, revealing himself as GrapLeomon.
"...GRAPLEOMON!" shouts GrapLeomon.
"Gotsumon, Digivolve to..." said Gotsumon as he kept spinning until he became Golemon.
"...GOLEMON!" shouts Golemon. Zach pushes another button on his artifact and Golemon began to spin. "Golemon, Digivolve to..." Golemon began to glow brightly while spinning; he stopped spinning, revealing himself as Meteormon.
"...METEORMON!" shouts Meteormon.
"Impmon, Digivolve to..." said Impmon as he kept spinning until he became Punkmon.
"...PUNKMON!" shouts Punkmon.
"Pulsemon, Digivolve to..." said Pulsemon as he continued spinning until he became Bulkmon.
"...BULKMON!" shouts Bulkmon.
"Betamon, Digivolve to..." said Betamon as he kept spinning until he became Dinohyumon.
"...DINOHYUMON!" shouts Dinohyumon.
"Hold it right there, birdbrain!" Meteormon shouts to Vulturemon, getting its attention.
"What do we have here?" Vulturemon asked as it looks at the kids and their partners.
"Let those Gotsumon go, dude." said Luna.
"Humans?" replied a Landramon.
"They must be the ones that GranKuwagamon told us about." said another Landramon.
"Excellent." said Vulturemon. "I can use a little 'target practice'." It raises its rifle arm and points it at the kids' partners. The four Landramon surround Lincoln's group and stab their claws into the desert sand.
"Desert Abyss!" shouts the Landramon before the sand beneath Lincoln's group's feet starts to suck them down.
"It's quicksand!" said Stella.
"Let's hurry and get out of here!" said Clyde as he and the others try to make their way to safety. Because RizeGreymon, MachGaogamon, and Chirinmon are able to fly, they are in no danger so they grabbed the humans and carried them to a large rock where he sets them down.
"Help the others!" said Lincoln.
"You got it!" RizeGreymon replied as he goes back for the others.
"Reaper Strike!" shouts Vulturemon as it fires shoots at RizeGreymon, MachGaogamon, and Chirinmon, hitting them.
"I'll keep Vulturemon busy!" said RizeGreymon.
"We'll get the others." said MachGaogamon. While he and Chirinmon started carrying the Digimon still stuck in the quicksand to safety, RizeGreymon was battling Vulturemon who was shooting at him.
"Barrel Smash!" shouts RizeGreymon as he swings his gun barrel arm at Vulturemon.
"Desert Death Scythe!" shouts Vulturemon as it swings the blade on his rifle arm at RizeGreymon's arm, blocking his attack.
Back with the others, MachGaogamon and Chirinmon were finished bringing everyone else to safety.
"Thanks you guys." said Lynn.
"No problem." said Chirinmon.
"You're not safe yet!" said a Landramon.
"Let's take these guys down!" said Dinohyumon.
"Yeah!" said Bulkmon; he and Dinohyumon charged at a Landramon.
"Terra Spike!" shouts Landramon as its claws retract into the sand; they come up towards Bulkmon and Dinohyumon.
"Akinakes!" shouts Dinohyumon as he takes out his large sword and slices through Landramon's claws with it.
"My claws!" yelled the Landramon.
"Electrical Fist!" shouts Bulkmon. Electricity surrounded his fist and he punches Landramon through the chest with it, making it disintegrate.
"Way to go!" cheered Lana. Another Landramon was approaching Dinohyumon from behind. "Behind you, Dinohyumon!" The Landramon tried to grab Dinohyumon, but he leapt out of the way.
"Lizard Dance!" shouts Dinohyumon as he begins dancing while slashing a Landramon with his arm blades, then swings down his Akinakes, slicing the Landramon in half, making it disintegrate.
"Yeah!" cheered Lana.
Punkmon was charging at another Landramon.
"Anarchist Flame!" shouts Punkmon as he fires a blue fireball out of his mouth and it hits Landramon, knocking it back.
"Desert Abyss!" shouts Landramon as it prepared to drive its claws into the desert sand.
"I don't think so; Blitzkreig Bop!" shouts Punkmon as fire surrounded his brass knuckles; he begins pounding on Landramon until it disintegrated.
"Rockin!" said Luna.
Back with RizeGreymon, he was blocking the blade of Vulturemon's gun arm with his own.
"Aren't vultures supposed to wait until their prey passes away before going for it?" asked RizeGreymon.
"True; I'm just speeding up the process!" said Vulturemon as it raises its gun barrel up in order to swing it down again.
"Vortex Kick!" shouts GrapLeomon as he leaps at Vulturemon and kicks its arm, knocking it off balance.
"Howling Cannon!" shouts MachGaogamon as he releases a powerful blast of supersonic waves from his mouth, hitting Vulturemon and knocking it back.
"Knowledge of Swift!" shouts Chirinmon as he creates clones of himself that fly around Vulturemon, slicing at him with their horns.
"Big Bang Blow!" shouts Meteormon as it leaps onto RizeGreymon and comes down with a heavy punch to Vulturemon's head, making it crash to the desert surface; it gets up as the Ultimate Level Digimon were heading towards it.
"Enough of this!" shouts Vulturemon. "Wither Wing!" Hundreds of large birds made of sand shoot out of the desert sand and pelt RizeGreymon, MachGaogamon, Chirinmon, GrapLeomon, and Meteormon; distracting them long enough to allow Vulturemon to aim his rifle arm. "Reaper Strike!" Vulturemon fires its weapon at Lincoln, Clyde, Rusty, Zach, and Liam's partners, hitting them, and knocking them down.
"Let me show you some real firepower!" shouts RizeGreymon as his wing and chest cannons pointed towards Vulturemon. "Rising Destroyer!" He fires a barrage of lasers at Vulturemon, hitting it all over, and destroying its rifle arm in the process.
"My arm!" shouts Vulturemon. Bulkmon zaps the last Landramon with his Thunder Dread, making it disintegrate before turning towards Vulturemon; Bulkmon begins charging towards Vulturemon.
"Electrical Fist!" shouts Bulkmon as he punches Vulturemon in its stomach and electrocuting it at the same time.
"Akinakes!" shouts Dinohyumon as he slashes Vulturemon with his sword.
"Anarchist Flame!" shouts Punkmon as he fires a blue fireball out of his mouth that hits the back of Vulturemon, setting its wings on fire.
"You'll pay for that!" shouts Vulturemon.
"Don't have any cash on us, but take this instead; Galactic Flare!" shouts Meteormon as he brings down hundreds of meteors onto Vulturemon, hitting it with explosive force.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" shouts Vulturemon as its body disintegrates.
"Way to go, Meteormon!" cheered Zach.
"Chirinmon, free those Gotsumon!" said Liam.
"You got it." said Chirinmon as he flies at the prisoner Gotsumon and uses his horn to slice their shackles off.
"We're free!" cheered a Gotsumon.
"Thank you all so much." said another Gotsumon.
"No problem." said Meteormon as he and the other partner Digimon return to their Rookie Forms.
"What do we do now?" asked a Gotsumon that wasn't Zach's partner.
"Head for Floatia." said Clyde.
"You'll be safer there, dudes." said Luna. After the group give the Gotsumon directions and they all start heading to Floatia, the kids let their Digimon partners rest for a while.
"We really need to get those artifacts for us." said Lana.
"Let our partners rest first." said Lincoln.
"Yeah, they earned a break." said Clyde.
"I got sand in my hair." said Rusty.
"Suck it up." said Lynn.
Meanwhile, a Vilemon was watching everything that happened, sending the images to its masters who were observing from their lair.
"We lost some perfectly good soldiers." said Blastmon.
"They were just a bunch of rocks." said Regalecusmon.
"What's wrong with that?!" Blastmon replied.
"Enough." said VolcanicDramon. "It's a small loss, but not one we can't recover from."
"But those humans are trying to get the ability to help the human girls' partners reach their Ultimate Forms." said GranKuwagamon.
"And how is that a threat to us?" asked VolcanicDramon.
"Good point, but they could be a nuisance." said Blastmon.
"Then we'll destroy them before they even make it to Logic Volcano." said Regalecusmon. When they look back at the viewing monitor, it showed Pulsemon charging before the image went blank.
"Another Vilemon bites the Digidust." said Blastmon.
"We have plenty of them." said GranKuwagamon.
Back with the Louds and Lincoln's friends; they, along with their partners were watching the Vilemon that Pulsemon spotted, breaking apart.
"Did you deal with those guys often?" asked Luna.
"Too often." said Zach.
"Let's get going before another one shows up." said Rusty.
The kids' partners have defeated Vulturemon and freed its prisoners. What awaits them as they continue to make their way to Logic Volcano? Wait and find out.
