Sunshine had not slept well during the night, and not because she felt the weight of the apocalyptic world on her shoulders. No, she tossed and turned like a child on the eve of a forbidden festival, grinning into her pillow, rolling onto her back, then her side, then her back again. Hades had growled a few times asking her to get some sleep.
She had tried but her mind would not let her, her mind swirled with questions. What if it worked? What if it the ice moon worked? It would be the coolest thing she would have created from her imagination.
Before the faintest suggestion of dawn crept into the sky, she gave up on sleeping entirely, sat upright, dragged a hand down her face, and laughed softly to herself. "How did the night pass by so fast?" she muttered, swinging her legs off the bed carefully not to wake her husband.
