When she grew weary of standing and watching from behind a glass, Sunshine found a place to sit and rest. Hours later, someone shook her awake.
Stretching and groaning with displeasure, she had no smiles for Nimo. "Is the world ending?" she asked in a grouchy voice.
"No, that was a year ago." Nimo replied. "Carson is awake and he discharged himself from the hospital three hours ago while you were sleeping." She looked at her phone whose screen was overtly brightly lit. "He asked me to tell you and only you about the changes he has undergone. He can see in the dark, like a cat." She paused. "He really said like a cat, these are not my words."
Sunshine yawned.
Nimo leaned down and whispered, "A drop of his blood fell on a dying plant his sister keeps at home, and it sprouted instantly." She looked around with wide, sharp eyes, checking to see if anyone was eavesdropping. "If people know this, they will kidnap him and drain him dry. Who needs fertilizer when we have Carson?"
