After a group of hot dancers kicked things off with a lively performance, the product launch officially began.
Seated in the audience, Rhodes leaned toward Tony and said:
"No wonder he's your friend—you've got the same taste."
Tony waved him off:
"This is nothing. Wait until my next expo, it'll be way wilder."
"At least three waves of dancers."
Pepper Potts, seated beside them, said nothing in response—this was typical Tony behavior, well known to all.
At that moment, the lights on stage dimmed, and a massive capsule was projected onscreen—though its design differed from a typical medicinal capsule.
When the virtual button on the capsule was pressed, a white explosion flashed across the screen.
Boom~
As the smoke cleared, a massive monocle appeared on the display.
Then, a spotlight hit Smith Dole on the darkened stage, drawing everyone's focus to him.
Smith walked up wearing the power level detector, and as the lights came up, the screen behind him showcased 360-degree images of the device from all sides.
"Welcome, everyone, to the first product launch of Capsule Corporation."
As he spoke, the audience responded with a round of applause.
Clap clap clap!
Tony was especially curious about the device Smith was wearing. A monocle-like gadget clearly wasn't a weapon, so what could it possibly do that warranted the presence of such a high-profile crowd?
When the applause faded, Smith began his presentation:
"Capsule Corporation's first product: the Power Level Detector."
Behind him, the screen showed a 360-degree rotating display of the detector.
"This monocle device I'm wearing—why is it called a Power Level Detector? Let me explain its features."
"The Power Level Detector can lock onto a target and assess their combat strength by calculating a numerical power level."
"Now let's take a look at a video demonstration to better understand what this product can do."
The video played. An actor dressed like a secret agent wore the Power Level Detector and aimed at a target in the distance. In the next moment, the monocle locked onto the target, displaying a person icon along with a '5' in the top right corner of the lens.
"Command, target has a power level of 5. No threat detected."
Inside a command vehicle, a military-style officer responded:
"Continue scanning. Find any potential threats."
"Yes, sir!"
As the scan continued, various targets appeared with power levels like 5.1, 6.2, 5.0, 4.3, and 3.5. Then suddenly, one target registered at 15.
"Command, special individual detected. Power level is 15!"
The voice from the command vehicle came again:
"Lock on and confirm identity."
The video was short but clearly demonstrated the function of the detector. Smith followed up:
"The Power Level Detector has two main functions: first, detecting a person's power level; second, enabling long-range communication. Two detectors can communicate seamlessly from anywhere on Earth."
This meant global communication—something that, in reality, was already heavily scaled down from the original Frieza Force models. In the original tech, they could even do interstellar communication, which was frankly ridiculous.
Hearing Smith's explanation, the audience was stunned. Initially, they were focused on what "power level" meant—but now they realized the communication capability was already incredible.
"Some of you might not fully grasp what a power level means. Let me give you a data point."
"According to Capsule Corporation's research, a healthy adult has an average power level of 5, though it can vary by about 1 point depending on the individual."
"For an ordinary person, the upper limit is around 7, almost reaching 8."
"Let me demonstrate."
Smith called up a staff member and used the detector—'5.0' appeared on screen. Since the device was connected to the main display, everyone saw it.
He then tested several other people, with small fluctuations appearing, but nothing too different.
After completing the demo, Smith said:
"Alright, now it's Q&A time. I'm sure many of you have questions."
A reporter raised their hand.
"Assistant, give that reporter a mic."
The reporter asked:
"Mr. Smith, what is the basis for determining a person's power level?"
A great question—and one many in the room were probably wondering.
"The Power Level Detector calculates based on total biological energy within a person's body."
"In short, the more bio-energy someone has, the stronger their combat ability will be."
"Furthermore, after breaking through the human limit, a 1.3x increase in power level can lead to overwhelming dominance in combat."
Another reporter asked:
"Why only after breaking the human limit?"
Smith explained:
"Before breaking that limit, things like skill, mindset, and even simple tools can significantly affect the outcome of a battle."
"But Mr. Smith, hardly anyone even reaches the human limit. Does your product really have a market?"
Smith just smiled, not responding immediately. Instead, he looked toward the audience—specifically at Nick Fury, General Ross, and the representatives from the CIA and FBI.
The reporters may not have understood—but those individuals definitely did. Earth wasn't just filled with ordinary people. There were plenty of special individuals. And Ross's Super Soldier program was already at a critical stage.
"This product isn't primarily targeted at the general public."
"And there are actually quite a few individuals who've either reached or are close to reaching the human limit."
"John, come up here for a second."
As John Wick stepped onto the stage, Smith activated the detector—'7.5' appeared on the screen.
Those familiar with Smith Dole's connections already knew John Wick's identity. Still, many were shocked to see that this man was nearly at the peak of human potential.
