"Mr. Baldwin. I do not think business and pleasure should mix."
She lifted her chin as she spoke, injecting steel into her voice. But he saw the flicker of heat in her eyes, the way her tongue darted out to wet her lips. She wanted him—she just didn't want to admit how much.
"Well, in this case, I want it to."
There was hunger in his tone now. He had already imagined it—her on his desk, her beneath him after a board meeting, her moans between business calls.
"You want me to be both your mistress and your media manager?" she asked.
"I believe both can be juggled."
He leaned forward slightly, his elbows resting on the desk as his gaze raked down her body.
"Alright."
Just that one word—but it came with a million layers. She had agreed to give up a part of herself, to step into his world and risk drowning in it.
Alex stared at her, narrowing his eyes as if trying to peel back her layers and see what was hiding underneath the sudden consent.
