Chapter 257 - 257: Hunters become the Prey.

"Be careful, keep quiet. We find the target and kill him quickly."

The whisper cut through the night air as the group of killers closed in on the villa. Their weapons gleamed faintly under the moonlight, movements sharp and deliberate.

"What if we're discovered?" one of them asked nervously. His voice betrayed his lack of confidence.

A harsh chuckle answered him. "Is this your first mission?"

The rookie froze for a moment, eyes wide. "How did you know?"

"It's obvious." The veteran's tone was sharp, almost mocking. The truth was, the younger man had been on assignments before—but not like this. His experience was with guard duty and surveillance, never direct hunts. Killing on this scale was new to him.

"If this wasn't your first time on a real job, you wouldn't ask such a stupid question. The answer is simple. If we're discovered…" His eyes narrowed, voice turning cold. "…we kill everyone. No witnesses. That's the rule."

The rookie swallowed hard, then nodded. "Got it."

There was no need to argue whether the command was cruel. They were killers, plain and simple. Whether by blade, bullet, or stealth, their hands were already stained with blood. Even if some had worked as security before, at their core, they were all murderers. Cold-blooded. That was their reality.

"Everyone, move."

The voice of their leader, the third-ranked assassin in the world, gave the final order. Immediately, they spread out like shadows, circling the villa and searching for their target.

Their mission was simple—find Arakawa Zenkichi and end his life.

"A few little reptiles."

From within the villa, thunder cracked—not outside, but in a voice heavy with power. Thor opened his eyes, the glint in them carrying contempt. He could feel the intruders. To him, they were insignificant. Weak. Fragile. He could end them all with the force of a breath.

The others stirred as well, awakened by the disturbance. Different expressions colored their faces—amusement, disdain, irritation. But none felt sympathy. After all, these intruders had broken into their home in the dead of night.

Their intentions were clear, their purpose far from pure. To expect kindness in return would be foolish.

"I've been bored lately," Zenkichi's calm voice broke the silence. His tone carried no fear, only the steady weight of someone used to dominance. "Let me handle this. None of you need to interfere."

The words spread through the villa like a command. Instantly, the tension shifted.

Everyone understood. Zenkichi's strength was unmatched. He hadn't even needed to see them to know the intruders' intent. Their target was him alone.

The others nodded in agreement. No one argued. They weren't just obeying—they were curious.

To them, Zenkichi was the embodiment of invincibility. Time and again, he had shown them what true strength meant. Those lessons still burned in their memories, carved so deep they couldn't be forgotten.

Now, they would get to watch.

And as they leaned back in anticipation, the stage was set for a scene that would leave them laughing at the sheer foolishness of the assassins who dared come hunting.
