"I'll give you some space now; I know you're busy," I said, but before I could leave the office, he called me back.
I walked over to him. "I need you to complete your statement."
"Really? I don't want to appear rude, and I don't want to seem desperate either."
He frowned. "What do you mean?"
I lowered myself to meet his gaze. "My aunt is a good woman," I said quietly.
"I still don't understand your point."
"You know what I mean, sir." I pulled the visitor's chair closer and sat down. "My body language must have revealed my intention by now. You're a smart man—the smartest man I know—so I'm sure you understand. I came here with pure intentions, and I want to leave the same way. I don't want to create problems for you and my aunt. My aunt is a good woman," I said slowly, playing with my fingers.
He shifted toward me. "You don't want to create problems for your aunt and me?" he asked.
"Yes," I nodded.
"You won't be creating any problems, I assure you."
