Colt came over to me. "Sorry I said those things. I was mad and my temper got the best of me." He said sitting on the other side of me. "It's fine." I told him. "Did you know Sawyer won't leave me alone about the situation until he gets the cold hard facts?" I asked.
Both brothers hung their heads. "That's just Sawyer." "And my brother." I added. They both sighed. "My parents definitely love me more than my brother. Every Friday we're supposed to have dinner at my aunt and uncle's house. So I decided to rebel against it and I even asked my dad if it was ok.
"He didn't care at all." I told them. A nurse came out and stopped. "Zachary Ray?" Both Buck and Colt stood up and went over to her.
They nodded at times and said a few words. I couldn't hear anything at all except mumbling. Then they came back over. "He's awake but they don't know how much he remembers." Buck told me. I nodded.
"Would you like to go see him?" Buck asked. "Would it be fine?" I asked. "Of course it's fine." Colt answered my question. They led me to the room he was in.
I went in, in between them. Zach looked up and saw us. He looked puzzled when he saw me. I walked over to the bed and sat near it. "Come here." He told me.
I got up off where I was seated and sat on the bed. He wanted to sit up but couldn't. I moved closer and laid down next to him. "Would you stay in this cold room with me?" He asked.
"As long as you keep me warm." I told him. "Was Jericho ever caught?" He asked. "Yeah. He was tied to Kat's truck when I saw her." Colt told him.
"Took him back home to relax." I told him. He kissed my temple before putting his hand on my stomach. "We'll see you two in the morning." Buck said before escorting his brother out with him.
"So you took him to your place?" Zach asked. "Yeah." I said as I finally saw his injuries. "He recognizes my truck." Zach looked down at me. "How is that?" He asked. "I have no idea. It may be because mine is the only one like it in town."
He kissed me again. "What exactly happened?" I asked. "I was trying to mount him and Buck's dog came out of no where and Jericho bolted. My foot got caught in the stirrup and I was partially dragged."
I kissed his cheek. He turned his head and kissed my lips. "Your so beautiful to me." He said. I moved closer to his body. There was bandages on his ribcage indicating that he had a few broken ribs.
He kissed me again as we laid there. "What was going on before you ran over?" Zach asked breaking the silence. "Sitting around doing nothing." I told him.
He lifted his right arm into view and set it on his hips. It was in a cast as well as his left leg. "Did he step on you?" I asked him.
"Only a little. I guess he felt me under him and quickly moved his hoof. Then splintered my ankle from it getting caught." I kissed his jaw. The stubble rough against my lips. He put his hand lower on the bump.
It was getting bigger but not by much. He stroked his thumb over it making me doze from how good it felt.
I woke up to him rubbing my arm. "Did you have a good nap sugar?" He asked. I moved my head and almost rolled over. He wasn't exactly in pain but I'm on the side he's not as badly hurt.
My boots were kicked off and I was curled up next to him under the blanket. "So how long are you in here?" I asked. "No clue. Buck should be here in a few minutes to tell more info."
Just as he said that his oldest brother walked in. "You've got the rest of this week then you're not going to be working until your completely healed." Buck told him making sure to point his finger at Zach.
"Kat can you keep him busy for three and a half months? Because the rest of us at the ranch can't." I nodded. "He can sit either in the office or behind the counter." I told Buck.
Zach groaned. "I hate being inside." He complained. "You'll be next to me if you're behind the counter." I told him. He groaned again. "But I hate being inside and confined." He added to his complaint.
"I'd tough it out, Zach because I'll have to be limited mobile once the doctor tells me I have to." I told him. He groaned and laid his head on me.
"It better go quickly." He said. I kissed his neck making him readjust where his head is. Buck left telling me to make sure he stays in bed no matter what. "What if I have to pee?" Zach asked once his brother was gone.
"Your on your own." I told him. He held me down against him. "You need to go don't you." He nodded against me. "Yeah I'll be back in a second." I told him getting up.
I went into the bathroom and there was a bottle labeled urine. He's going to hate that, but he's going to have to get use to it until he gets out of here.
I took it to him and set it on the bed. "Good luck." He stared at it. "I'm seriously supposed to piss in that?" "That's what was left for you." I told him.
"Will you hold it for me?" "Nope." "At least help me?" "Nope. You can pee yourself." He groaned as I went into the bathroom to use it. "Kat I need help." Zach called.
