# Chapter 334: Star-Lord's Idol
Near the abandoned Dam was an area of Unfinished Building. Coupled with the disused Dock nearby, the area had long been uninhabited. From the drizzling rain of the Small Alley came the sound of buzzing wings, like a swarm of bees.
Buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz!
Dozens of winged Parademons circled in the air, blocking Star-Lord's path. Their scarlet eyes in the dark night made Star-Lord panic. Star-Lord didn't know that these winged monsters, which fed on fear, came from the distant Apokolips.
Apokolips is the fortress, Base, and Homeworld of the Cosmic Overlord Darkseid.
And these Parademons are the Demon Army Darkseid specifically created to conquer various Worlds.
They were originally captives captured from various Planets across the Universe by the Apokolips army. Apokolips Technology completely transformed the genes and physical bodies of other organic life forms. After the transformation was complete, they would become Darkseid's most loyal Slaves. They had no thought, no free will, and only obeyed the Dark Lord Darkseid. Relying on their nearly infinite Numbers, they conquered one Planet and Parallel Universe after another for Darkseid.
The existence known as Darkseid in this Universe is more like an enhanced version of Thanos. The difference from Thanos is that Darkseid's Strength is even more terror-inducing.
He holds a Divine Artifact called the Mother Box in his hand. The Sonic Boom Passage opened by the Mother Box is comparable to Asgard's Rainbow Bridge / Bifrost, possessing the Divine Power to teleport armies.
Whenever Darkseid sets his sights on a Planet, he will send some Parademons carrying Mother Boxes to infiltrate the World in advance. After deployment is complete, they will open a Sonic Boom Passage in that World, opening the Gate connecting to Apokolips. At that time, an endless Demon Army of Parademons will flood into that World, turning it into Darkseid's Slave.
Every time they invade a World, they will hunt numerous organic creatures to transform them into new Parademons, expanding this terrifying Demon Army. Almost all organic life forms can be transformed into Parademons.
The Strength of each individual Parademon is not very strong. Although they possess combat strength difficult for an Ordinary Person to resist, even non-Superpowered individuals heroes like Batman and Green Arrow can single-handedly take on a large group of Parademons. However, what is truly terrifying is their Numbers. Their nearly infinite Numbers completely compensate for the lack of individual Strength. If you knock down one, ten more will swarm forward. If you knock down ten, hundreds more will swarm forward.
Having no free will means they will not fear, only advance for Darkseid. This also makes them bio-weapons as terrifying as Doomsday.
The reason these fear-eating Parademons appeared on Earth is due to a war thousands of years ago. Darkseid invaded Earth but was defeated by the combined forces of Earth's Gods, Atlantis, Amazon warriors, and the Human army. His troop-carrying Mother Box was also forced to be left behind on Earth.
Apokolips's external conquest had also been stagnant for thousands of years. Now, Darkseid's injuries have healed.
Therefore, Darkseid dispatched his capable subordinate Steppenwolf to Earth to retrieve the Mother Box and, while he was at it, use the Mother Box's power to completely wipe out this Planet that once brought him shame and disgrace.
That's right, the Quantum Radar developed by the Avengers seemed to have some deviation. The Universe they searched for this time was surprisingly a Parallel Universe from the neighboring DC.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh—
Red energy pulse waves shot towards Star-Lord like raindrops.
Star-Lord dodged the dense firepower of these monsters, darting left and right. Energy beams whizzed past his ears from time to time.
The beams hit the bricks and stones of the Small Alley, splashing stone fragments like sharp blades, scratching across the Ant-Man Suit on Star-Lord's body, leaving behind marks where the paint was scraped off.
Star-Lord carried the Black Person Old Man in the White Coat, fleeing in a sorry state, occasionally raising his gun to shoot, slowing down the Parademons' attack.
The High-Energy Element Gun in Star-Lord's hand was found by him in the ruins of a dilapidated ancient planet. Although it was an old object from a distant era, he found a Firearms repair Master through Elder Mandel's channel, and only then successfully repaired this old-fashioned energy gun.
He originally wanted to repair this gun and sell it for a high price. Unexpectedly, after being repaired, the energy gun's force was surprisingly amazing.
Its output power, energy capacity, even exceeded the Kree Empire's military standard energy rifles.
So Star-Lord kept this High-Energy Element Gun along with some high-technology small things for his own use.
In his years of adventuring, Star-Lord encountered many difficulties, and thanks to this High-Energy Element Gun, he was able to get through safely.
This time, facing these dense Parademons, the old mate in Star-Lord's hand was still very reliable. Every energy beam fired would send a Parademon crashing to the ground.
However, as time passed, the number of Parademons swarming from the darkness increased, a vast, dark mass, like dark clouds in the rain.
Looking at the few Parademons blocking the way ahead, Star-Lord touched his waist, where several miniaturized beam bombs were hidden.
After thinking for a moment, he finally let go, and instead took off the string of beads from his wrist, pulling off a handful of bone beads and throwing them at the Parademons in front of him.
A dozen bone beads rattled in mid-air, accompanied by streaks of black smoke, transforming into skull heads the size of large baskets in the air. They opened their eerie white teeth, letting out strange howls, like ghost cries. From their mouths, they spewed out streams of green phosphorescent fire like bolts of silk and large plumes of black smoke.
The flames spewed by these Skeleton Demons were different from ordinary flames. Not only did they lack high temperature, but they were bone-chillingly cold. Mixed within them were two pale thin threads of demon light invisible to the naked eye, intensely foul-smelling and truly formidable.
These skull heads howled as they lunged towards the Parademons blocking the way.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh—
The blocking Parademons knew no fear. They vibrated their wings, like winged black flying ants, and also lunged towards these skull heads head-on.
In flight, their energy rifles aimed at the dozen skull heads wrapped in black smoke and phosphorescent fire, shooting out streams of red energy beams.
Hiss hiss hiss hiss—
The energy beams struck the streaks of black smoke covering the Skeleton Demons. The energy beams fired from these energy rifles penetrated and carried away wisps of black smoke.
However, these black smoke were instantly sucked back into the mouths and noses of the Skeleton Demons with their every breath.
Some energy beams landed on the green phosphorescent fire spewed by the Skeleton Demons. The energy beams collided with the phosphorescent fire.
The green phosphorescent fire and the red energy beams directly exploded into clusters of sparks, scattering.
Some beams directly pierced holes in the hard skull heads of the Skeleton Demons, but these injuries clearly did not cause fatal damage to these Skeleton Demons.
And as the Parademons and Skeleton Demons clashed, the black smoke and green fire spewed by the Skeleton Demons instantly enveloped one Parademon after another.
Thud! Thud! Almost the instant they were touched by the black smoke and green fire, these Parademons fell from the sky to the ground like dumplings being dropped into a pot.
At the same time, as these Skeleton Demons opened their large mouths to devour, the flesh and blood on the bodies of these top-tier alien bio-weapons directly turned into streams of blood mist, which were swallowed into the mouths of these Skeleton Demons.
After devouring the flesh and blood of several Parademons, these Skeleton Demons bypassed Star-Lord, carrying rolling black smoke and phosphorescent fire, and lunged towards the pursuing Parademons. After releasing these Skeleton Demons, Star-Lord, carrying the Black Person Old Man on his shoulder, turned and ran, seemingly not caring about the Skeleton Demons' combat results at all.
On the top of the abandoned Dam, a figure blended into the night. Under the rain, his shadow was reflected on the embankment, like a human form bat! He calmly watched the Alley, where the skull heads wrapped in black smoke and phosphorescent fire were fighting with the Parademons.
More and more Parademons howled out from the darkness. Dense energy beams were like a meteor shower, overwhelming these strange skull heads with their vast numbers. He had tracked these Parademons here, and didn't expect to see the scene before him.
These Parademons didn't seem like good people, but those strange skull heads reminded him of a difficult old friend.
That guy's favorite things were research related to Dark Magic, Demons, devils, women, cigarettes, and alcohol. It seemed nothing associated with him was good.
"Dark Magic? Alfred, check for me where that guy John is now?"
The man notified his assistant via the communicator, asking him to check if his old friend had arrived.
At this time, the combat in the Small Alley had ended. Countless dark Parademons circled and flew towards the shadow of the Dam.
The man looked at the place where the group of Parademons disappeared. He spread his hands, and the cloak behind his back transformed into bat wings with a faint electric current. In the Small Alley, in the reflection of a puddle of water, a black bat figure chased in the direction Star-Lord had disappeared.
Rustle rustle—
Not long after the Parademons and the bat figure disappeared, the bones scattered in the Small Alley seemed to have life and began to move on their own, accompanied by clicking sounds, beginning to reassemble.
Soon, Human Form Skeleton Demons appeared at the bottom of the Dam. The Skeleton frames of the Parademons, whose flesh and blood had been devoured, were topped with the original Skeleton Demon Heads, looking extremely terror-inducing in the rainy Alley.
Two clusters of phosphorescent fire flickered in the eyes of these Skeleton Demons. Inside their skulls, a black object only one-tenth the size of a fingernail began to activate, accompanied by streaks of blue streaking light flashing through the mechanism.
These dozen Skeleton Demons disappeared from the bottom of this Dam.
"Hey, I chased those monsters away for you. You hide here. I still have things to attend to!"
In a broken hole at the bottom of the Dam, Star-Lord placed the Black Person Old Man he was carrying on the ground and said to the unconscious old man.
Then he opened his wrist device: "Hey, lady, how's the data collection going? What's the match percentage between here and our Universe?"
"Mr. Quill, the match percentage for this Universe is only 11%!"
From Star-Lord's wrist device came a clear female voice, identical to Tony Stark's Artificial Intelligence Friday.
"Only 11%? Looks like we came to the wrong place again! Notify the Captain, looks like we need to leave!"
To facilitate data collection, the Ant-Man Suit Star-Lord wore was loaded with the Artificial Intelligence System developed by Iron Man. Not just him, but other members of the Avengers also had this set of AI Systems.
The biggest effect of these copies of Friday was that whenever they entered a new world, these Artificial Intelligence would access the network of the current Universe, perform data analysis, to determine if the Universe they were in was the target they were looking for.
Clearly, this time, they had come to the wrong place again.
Glancing at the unconscious Black Person Old Man, Star-Lord thoughtfully called 911 for him, then reached for his wrist, planning to activate the Ant-Man device and return to his own Universe.
As for those Skeleton Demons, Star-Lord had no intention of retrieving them. Although he vaguely knew that the effect of these skull head strings of beads and the things Tang Song gave him were not simple, he even guessed that these things seemed more like some kind of coordinates.
However, he had no choice. His adoptive father, whom he once hated, was still in that Universe.
He had seen Tang Song's strength. He didn't want his adoptive father, with whom he had argued for decades, to be in trouble.
Just as Star-Lord reached out to activate the Ant-Man Transformation device, a sharp Batarang flew from the shadows, shooting towards Star-Lord.
Clang! Amidst a sound of metal and iron clashing, Star-Lord rolled, dodging the attacking Batarang.
"Universe match percentage, a fresh term. Who are you, how many of you are there, where are you from, and what is your purpose for coming to Earth?"
The moment Star-Lord dodged the Batarang, he drew his High-Energy Element Gun and aimed it at the corner in the darkness.
Accompanied by a mysterious low voice, a man wearing a Bat Suit walked out from the shadows.
"Batman, Bruce Wayne? Shit, what the hell, aren't you a character from the comics?"
Star-Lord looked at the familiar figure in front of him and couldn't help but exclaim. He immediately opened the helmet of his Ant-Man Suit, revealing his slightly greasy face.
His face was filled with surprise.
Before Star-Lord was taken away from Earth by Yondu, like all children, his favorite thing was reading comics. At that time, the two most famous comic characters were Batman and Superman.
Star-Lord had never thought that one day he would actually meet his favorite comic character. This feeling was like a dream.
"You're really Batman, the President/CEO of Wayne Enterprises, Bruce Wayne!?"
The stern face under Batman's mask stiffened for a moment. He looked at Star-Lord, whose face was filled with fanaticism, and fell silent. He had only seen this kind of fanaticism in the Joker.
Could this be another one of his fanatical fans? One Joker was enough to give him a headache. If another one came, he even doubted if he could bear it.
Even if he could bear it, Gotham could not welcome another crazy Joker.
"You know me!?" Batman stared at Star-Lord for a long time, and only after a while did he ask in a low voice! "Of course!" Star-Lord gesticulated excitedly: "You're my idol! When I was a kid, Charlie and the others liked Superman, only I liked you, the hero who descends from the night and doesn't kill, it's too cool! I always thought it was just comics, I never expected Batman to actually exist!"
"Batman, Mr. Wayne, could you give me an autograph!" Star-Lord somehow pulled out a piece of paper, holding a pen, and was about to step forward to ask his idol for an autograph.
