Chapter 3 - Chapter 3. A Pointless Marriage

Just before Malikha processed everything, something suddenly came to their house. She hadn't even turned to change her gown yet. A woman came with a tight, sexy cocktail dress and stood in front of her.

"Who are you?" Malikha asked in confusion.

She stood there, confronting her arrogantly with her hands folded in front of her breast.

"She's my girlfriend. The one I should marry, but my dad chose you instead."

Aidan promptly replied and stepped closer to get to Sierra.

"Hi, Babe," Sierra leaned her arm on him and kissed shamelessly.

"Sorry, I just had to change my tux." Aidan smiled, pecked her lips, and stared at dumbfounded Malikha.

Malikha held her breath for the scene she must conceive from tonight. She said nothing but to leave Aidan, who brought the girl to his room.

Meanwhile, Malikha stood there, slowly turning to see them giggling before shutting the door.

"Oh my God."

She would never expect to get a broken heart on her first night. Nevertheless, she must stay.

Malikha walked to the maid's room and sat on a small bed. The room was warm enough and neat. Although it was pretty damp, she was okay with it. She used to live in a small room, worse than what she had now.

After taking gasps, she took off the gown and lay down on the bed. To think that it was just a nightmare. Tomorrow, when she wakes up, it will all disappear.

Unfortunately, it did not happen. After the bold affair last night, Aidan forced Malikha to do some house chores this morning. He wanted her to work early in the morning, although he knew she had a job at the consultant's office.

"I don't hire any maid to clean the house. It is your job to make sure this place is clean and tidy. You also have to cook three times a day. No matter the time, when I ask you to do something, you'd better do it soon, or I will punish you."

Malikha will never imagine that her life would be ruined after marrying Aidan Caesar. Her husband turned out to be a jerk who hated her. Eventually, she was only a beautiful girl who fell in love with the wrong man.

Now that Aidan is married to Malikha, he can control her and take revenge. Today, her first wife's moment was being his maid.

"You should clean the whole place. I don't care if you don't have time in the morning. You must not leave before doing all the chores. Do you get it?" Aidan shrieked at her. Malikha had no choice but to agree. She had a poor life before marrying, and being a maid was not new.

Since then, Malikha has been nothing more than a personal maid for her husband. Aidan also did not respect Malikha by taking his girlfriend to his house. Sierra Thompson came to the house like an owner. Although Aidan was still in recovery, she did not come to support him.

"What the fuck is this!" Aidan raggedly threw his ceramic plate to the floor, and it shattered immediately. Malikha ran from the kitchen to see her husband, then yelled at her.

"Are you poisoning me?"

Malikha quickly shook her head. She was shocked to see Aidan's rage, along with the sound of plates broken on the floor.

"I am not poisoning you. What would I?" she trembled to say things now. Aidan spared nothing for Malikha. He kept accusing her.

"Why did you throw it away?" Malikha asked again.

"That's because you're poisoning my food. What kind of wife makes salty food for her husband? Are you killing me?" he yelled at her again. He stood from his chair and walked over, kicking a piece of the plate while he passed. In short, the entire floor was now dirty.

Malikha's fragile heart broke. She admired the food so much that she was always sad when it was wasted. So, as soon as Aidan left, she shed tears while picking up the scattered food. She felt hungry when she lived on the street. She always tried not to throw away any leftovers. But this time, Malikha had to throw away the food she had made. After cleaning it up, Malikha returned to the kitchen to try some of what was left in the pan.

"It's not salty. Did I put the cheese in too much?" she thought.

"But Aidan said that he likes more cheese, so why did he throw away his food instead?"

Later, Aidan behaved more miserably toward Malikha. While he should have brought her on a sweet honeymoon, instead, he invited his girl Sierra to spend nights in his bedroom.

There were only tears left for her for the rest of the nights ahead. Since Aidan would shamelessly bring his mistress to his room, or did not come home at all.

One night, Malikha came home, and he wasn't there yet. Either he was still working with his job or his girlfriend, she couldn't tell. So Malikha could spare her free time alone without being tortured before Aidan's going home. After dinner, she watches TV while doing some of her work from the office. She filed a few documents and put notes in her journal.

In the next few minutes, she was lying on the couch, watching TV with sleepy eyes. She overslept in minutes after because she was tired from working at the office. Aidan went home alone and tipsily walked through the living room, where he spotted Malikha sleeping on the couch.

He remained there watching her sleep soundly. Then he stepped closer to bend in front of her without making a sudden noise. He kept staring at her. A faint smile slipped from his lips. He recognised her beauty from the beginning. But it was not supposed to be happening, right?

Suddenly, Malikha opened her eyes and was startled to see Aidan. She gasped and quickly sat. Aidan looked pissed and drunk.

"You shouldn't sleep here. This is not your bed." He grunted out of nowhere. Malikha quickly regained her consciousness and answered. "I'm sorry. I'm just waiting for you." She softly replied.

"What? Do you think I'm a teenager?" he bluffed more. Malikha put her head down and realised that she had still put all of her documents on the table. She quickly complied and took them before Aidan could read them.

"What are those?" he asked when he saw her hugging the files.

"Nothing. They were just my works."

He mockingly chuckled. "What papers does a waiter take from a bakery shop? Are you a manager?"

Malikha looked sad to hear his salty words. She did not want to start a dispute since Aidan was not sober yet. It was pointless.

"You should get rest. You look tired." Malikha answered softly and calmly instead of raising her voice.

Aidan clenched his jaws, then stepped closely to intimidate her. Meanwhile, Malikha only stared at him with her innocent eyes.

"Never think that we will stay in this marriage forever. I'm going to end it up sooner than you think it is." He hissed. Malikha only gulped slowly her bitter saliva saying nothing. Aidan would hate her forever. He took his steps away and walked a bit stumbled to his room then slammed the door. And all she could do was watching it.
