Chapter 398 - 398: Purge of Fishman Street

Fishman Street had once been a thriving home for orphans sixteen years ago. Over time, due to poor management and neglect, it became a desolate, lawless place. Dirt, stench, and chaos filled the air, and now the street was overrun by Hody Jones and his New Fishman Pirates.

From the towering Hard‑Shell Tower, Kaito descended onto the street below. If the rest of Fishman Island was paradise, this corner was nothing short of hell. Murlocs lay scattered across the filthy pavement, their bodies marking the stench-laden air with decay.

Kaito frowned. "So Fishman Island has a place like this… eye-opening."

He asked a nearby fish-man about Hody Jones' whereabouts and quickly made his way toward the notorious pirate den.

At the end of the street, a building stood out. Unlike the rest of Fishman Street — small, single-story houses cloaked in grime and filth — this structure was a clean, three-story villa, more than three times the size of its neighbors. Its walls gleamed, and no foul smell lingered. A polished sign declared: New Fishman Bar — headquarters of Hody Jones' crew.

Pushing open the door, Kaito stepped into the spacious hall. Only two figures manned the bar, with a few murlocs quietly drinking.

"Do the guests need anything?" A squid-man asked, voice sharp and impatient.

Kaito raised an eyebrow. No wonder this place was empty — it was a front, likely to hide the development of Hody's EX Medicine.

"What's with your attitude?" Kaito asked coolly.

"Drink if you want, leave if you don't," the squid-man snapped.

Kaito muttered under his breath, "No need to waste my patience on dead men."

In an instant, he closed the distance. His hand shot out like lightning, gripping the squid-man's neck with surgical precision.

"Do you know what you're doing?" growled Shark Bodhidharma, stepping forward.

"I decide who lives and dies here," Kaito said calmly, releasing the man.

Before Bodhidharma could respond, a click sounded. The bones of Icarus shattered, and his body went limp.

"Icarus… you… he's dead?" Dharma's face twisted in shock and rage.

Before he could react further, Kaito's Observation Haki flared. A wave of energy emanated from his body, pulling Dharma's consciousness into darkness with a subtle yet irresistible force.

With the lower floor cleared, Kaito ascended to the second story. Footsteps echoed, sensing the presence of the pirate crew.

"What happened to Icarus?" a voice called out. It was Tos, one of Hody's lieutenants, clearly irritated.

The sound of footsteps approaching answered him. His expression darkened as Kaito appeared.

"Everyone up! Something has happened!" Tos shouted, rousing the pirates from sleep. Murmurs and complaints echoed as Lionfish grumbled, "I was sleeping!"

Kaito's presence silenced them instantly. He raised an eyebrow. "They're all here."

"Who are you? And what about Icarus and Dharma?" Tos demanded.

"They're dead," Kaito said casually.

"Dead? You… do you know they're part of our crew?"

"Of course I do," Kaito replied.

"Impossible! Brothers, avenge them!" Tos roared, leaping forward with a massive hammer. The sheer force of the swing sent the air roaring.

Kaito remained calm. He caught the hammer with one hand, his other index finger crackling with electro-charged Haki.

Crackle! Crackle!

The hammer-wielding Tos disintegrated into a charred corpse.

The remaining pirates froze. Weapons raised, they rushed toward Kaito, but a shockwave of Busoshoku Haki erupted from his body, sending them flying like meteors. Walls crumbled under the force, and the room emptied in moments.

Kaito was left alone in the vast room, silent and unbothered.

From the third floor, Hody Jones had been developing his EX Medicine. The explosion of noise drew his attention. His eyes narrowed in fury, and he vanished in an instant, appearing on the second floor above the chaos.

"Who are you? Why are you attacking my New Fishman Pirates?" Hody demanded, his hand clutching red, crystalline EX Medicine. The drug enhanced strength, speed, and endurance, but at a grave cost — shortening the user's lifespan.

"My name is Kaito," he said with a grin, voice cold. "By order of Princess Shirahoshi, your crew will cease to exist."

"Impossible! Shirahoshi is kind and gentle! She would never issue such an order! Tell me who sent you!" Hody shouted, eyes blazing with rage.

"Shirahoshi may be kind, but she would never forgive those who harmed her mother, Otohime. Today is your day of reckoning." Kaito's gaze was ice-cold.

"I… you don't understand!" Hody cried, his face turning a deep blue, eyes seething with fury.

"I know everything you know, and everything you don't. And all you need to know is that today, you die." Kaito's tone was indifferent.

Before Hody could react further, Kaito vanished in a blur, leaving only silence behind.
