Even Hanzo, who possessed antibodies against poison, struggled to endure this venom. Although greatly diluted in water, it was still far too potent for ordinary ninja to withstand.
Therefore, when the toxic liquid rained down from the sky, the battlefield, previously filled with sounds of fierce combat, was soon overwhelmed by screams of agony.
Hanzo and Chiyo both remained indifferent—having experienced countless wars, she had long grown detached from life and death.
Yet Seiki's eyes revealed a clear look of sympathy. After a moment's hesitation, he suddenly rubbed his thumb across his forehead.
In the next instant, an exceptionally massive amount of chakra erupted from his body.
Sensing the powerful presence radiating from Seiki, Hanzo grew wary. Just as he worried that Seiki might attempt to end the battle quickly with a devastating technique, he saw instead a colossal slug summoned forth through his opponent's Summoning Jutsu.
Looking visibly drained, Seiki spoke, "Lady Katsuyu, I need your help—please split into smaller forms and use my chakra to heal the Konoha and Suna ninjas."
Unlike her smaller counterpart, the Great Slug carried a gentle and calm demeanor: "I understand, but are you sure everything will be alright?"
"There's no problem. Please trust me."
"Very well, I understand."
With that, the giant slug divided into countless smaller slugs, which hopped cheerfully toward the poisoned ninja scattered across the battlefield.
Ordinarily, such a simple remote treatment wouldn't work against full-strength Poison Mist, but the diluted toxin had lost much of its potency. At the very least, it could stabilize the injuries and prevent further deterioration.
The Konoha ninja who received treatment were deeply moved.
Lord Seiki actually disregarded his own safety, using up precious chakra to heal them even while facing someone as legendary as [Sanshouo] Hanzo (an enormous Japanese salamander-like creature). That act of selflessness warmed their chilled bodies like a ray of light through the rain.
As for the Sunagakure ninja, they were even moved to tears.
As the field commander and a fellow Leaf ninja, Seiki wasting his chakra to heal his comrades was already commendable—but extending help to them too? Such compassion made those who had doubted their village's choice feel deeply ashamed.
Meanwhile, the Amegakure ninja also turned their desperate gazes toward their 'God'—though they were destined to be disappointed.
Hanzo couldn't even be bothered to glance at them. His eyes remained locked on Seiki, brimming with barely restrained delight, "How foolish of you! Still, I suppose I should thank you for your foolishness!"
Up until now, he had focused on Chiyo as the weak point—not only because Puppet Masters, who relied on their puppets for combat, often had weaker physical bodies, but more crucially due to intelligence about Seiki. An opponent who could use the Flying Thunder God Technique and simultaneously have his chakra sealed and drained was no easy target.
But now things had changed—his enemy had directly used that chakra-draining jutsu, and the chakra continued draining away. Soon, Seiki might not even have enough left to perform the Flying Thunder God Technique.
Chiyo also frowned slightly, "Though I truly appreciate what you've done, this was still reckless."
Seiki managed a faint smile. "Don't worry. I won't fall before we defeat the enemy."
"The way he's talking, the ring on his pinky is constantly channeling chakra into his body."
Forged from the Zero-Tail's body, this ring absorbs the despair of Amegakure ninjas to extract chakra.
Although dark chakra carries certain risks, for Seiki—who has long mastered taming the Nine-Tails' power—it's not an issue.
Nine-Tails' chakra is far more savage and violent than dark chakra when uncontrolled; otherwise, it wouldn't have always been regarded as an evil omen by people.
Hanzo didn't realize Seiki was faking. After all, something like the Zero-Tail was completely unknown to him.
Moreover, to avoid detection from abilities similar to the Byakugan, Seiki deliberately guided the chakra toward the Eight Gates inside his body. Even if discovered, others would simply assume it was latent power stored internally.
This rare opportunity couldn't be missed. Hanzo swung his chain hard, hurling the sickle attached at its end toward Seiki.
Seiki stood still until the very moment the sickle approached, then slightly tilted his body to evade.
Seeing Seiki dodge effortlessly, Hanzo felt amusement rather than alarm.
It looked effortless, but in truth, it was a calculated gamble.
Only someone nearing their limits would risk everything just to save a little strength.
Realizing this, Hanzo no longer hesitated and launched a full-force attack against Seiki.
[Water Release: Water Colliding Wave!]
A massive torrent surged toward the sky, then crashed down like a waterfall onto Seiki.
"What a troublesome brat!" Chiyo sighed, positioning the nearly completed Nine-Person Tag Team in front of Seiki to counterattack together.
The air cannons and giant waterfall violently collided, entwining into a colossal waterspout stretching between sky and ground.
Watching the rampaging whirlwind on the battlefield, even Hanzo revealed a flicker of caution in his eyes. If he himself got caught inside, it wouldn't end well.
Suddenly, a piercing sound came from behind him. Hanzo quickly dodged sideways.
A streak of light flashed past—clearly Seiki charging straight at him.
"You actually dare to launch a counterattack? You're determined indeed!" Hanzo narrowed his eyes. "But this will only accelerate your dying ember's extinction!"
"Going all-in, are you?" Chiyo muttered, sending out the remaining ten puppets. "Let this old hag have your back!"
Twisting his body mid-air, Seiki's right leg lashed out like a whip. Hanzo blocked the strike with his sickle, intending to retaliate, only to find himself surrounded again by the puppets.
Seeing this, Hanzo could only evade using the Shifting Body Technique.
Taking advantage of the moment when the puppets and Seiki regrouped, he rapidly formed hand seals and slammed both palms onto the ground.
[Water Release: Great Waterfall Technique!]
Naturally, Hanzo didn't expect this move alone would threaten them significantly. So the instant he finished the seals, he replaced himself with a water clone while his real body merged into the waterfall.
Seeing the roaring cascade approaching, the puppet squad once again used their combined strength to tear through the waterfall.
In the next second, the shattered waterfall transformed into torrential rain pouring down.
While preparing for Hanzo's next move, Chiyo suddenly realized in horror that falling raindrops had transformed into dozens of Hanzos descending upon Seiki from the sky.
Chiyo was about to call out a warning when she saw Seiki react faster than her. He dodged using the Flying Thunder God technique, leaving behind a single Katsuyu clone in his original spot.
[Acid Bomb!]
The clone self-destructed, exploding into acidic liquid that splattered everywhere.
While those water clones weren't much of a threat, Hanzo's real body let out an uncontrollable cry of pain.
Even though he dodged most of the acid in time, part of his cheek had still been splashed and corroded, leaving him disfigured.
Covering his injured cheek, Hanzo spat coldly, "Damn punk! I can't even afford a moment of underestimation toward you!"
Seiki gasped for breath, "Sorry, but I don't want to lose here just yet. I guess I'll have to disappoint you."
Seeing Seiki in this state, Hanzo quietly grew annoyed.
This kid's combat experience and on-the-spot reactions were world-class—his tricks just couldn't land on him.
If that's the case, why even bother scheming? Why not just overwhelm him with pure chakra?
