Chapter 3 - Encounter #3

**🌌 The Night of Awakening**

While the house was filled with panic, unsure of what to do next, the boy drifted between consciousness and the void. The voices around him—Summer's worried cries, Taiyang's urgency, the soft gasps of Ruby and Yang—faded into a distant blur.

His body remained still, but his mind floated alone in a vast, dark void.

There was nothing. Just darkness. Silence.

But then… a faint light appeared. 🌟

Drawn to it, the boy reached out. As his hand extended, the light grew brighter… larger… warmer—until suddenly, his eyes fluttered open.

He found himself staring at a white ceiling. Blinking slowly, he turned his head to the left and saw the moonlight streaming through the window. It was nighttime. Quiet. Peaceful.

Then he felt it—something warm holding his right hand.

He turned his head to the right and saw soft, golden hair. He recognized it immediately.

It was her—the girl with the brave, fiery aura. 💛 Yang.

She was holding his hand tightly, using it like a pillow as she dozed off in the chair beside his bed. A warmth filled his chest. No one had ever shown him such care before… not like this.

For the first time in a long while, he felt safe.

Just then, the door creaked open slowly. 🚪

Ruby walked in, half-asleep, hugging her stuffed toy. She didn't notice the boy was awake as she shuffled toward the bed. She climbed up beside him, ready to go back to sleep—until something caught her eye.

A fluffy, black tail with faded blue ends laid across the bed.

She blinked.

Tail. 🦊

Toy. 🧸

Tail.

Toy.

After a moment of quiet consideration, Ruby tossed her stuffed toy aside and wrapped her tiny arms around the boy's fluffy tail instead, hugging it tightly like a body pillow. 😴

The boy stayed perfectly still—motionless. Though slightly uncomfortable, he didn't want to disturb them. These two girls had been kind to him. Maybe… this was how family felt.

He smiled faintly, closed his eyes, and allowed himself to rest again.

**⏳ Five Days Earlier**

"He just collapsed," Summer said, trembling. "After we asked him some questions about where he came from… then suddenly a glyph appeared on his right eye. It looked… unstable. Glitching."

"Have you seen anything like this before, Doctor?" Taiyang asked, clearly shaken.

"If you're talking about trauma-induced unconsciousness, yes," the doctor replied while activating his semblance to scan the boy. "But that glyph? I've never seen anything like it."

After a full examination, the doctor concluded there was nothing physically wrong. The boy had simply passed out from mental trauma. Before leaving, he gave one strict warning:

"Don't bring up his past. Especially anything related to Grimm. It might trigger another episode."

**💬 Over the Next Five Days**

The boy remained unconscious, never stirring.

Ruby and Yang visited him every day. They told him funny stories, described their favorite games, and even brought him drawings. They didn't know if he could hear them—but they never stopped coming.

Then one night, Yang snuck quietly into his room. Without saying a word, she held his hand again, just like before. They hadn't spoken yet. They didn't know each other's names. But she wanted him to know…

He wasn't alone.

Back then, she and Ruby had believed Grimm might be near their home—because of how they found him. Even though the fear lingered, something about the boy's presence calmed her. His warmth made her feel safe.

And in return… she would protect him. Even if it was just by being there.

**☀️ The Next Morning**

While Summer was preparing breakfast, she turned to Taiyang.

"Could you go wake the girls?"

"Sure," he replied casually, heading toward their room.

But when he opened the door, it was empty.

No Ruby. No Yang.

"Ruby? Yang?" he called.

He checked around the house—until he reached the guest room. The door was slightly ajar. Pushing it open, he was greeted by a heartwarming sight:

There they were. Ruby curled up at the foot of the bed, hugging the boy's tail. Yang sleeping in a chair, still holding his hand. The boy—finally awake—resting peacefully between them.

Taiyang stood there, stunned… mesmerized.

Summer arrived behind him, about to ask where the girls were—until she saw them. She leaned against Taiyang's arm and smiled.

"…Why don't we adopt him?" she said softly.

Taiyang glanced at her in surprise.

"He doesn't have parents. Or family. I don't want to send him to an orphanage…" she added, eyes filled with concern and tenderness.

Taiyang let out a deep sigh—but it wasn't from doubt. It was from relief.

"I thought I was the only one thinking that," he admitted, chuckling. "Though, uh… whose last name does he get?"

Summer smirked confidently.

"Well, that depends… who has the better naming sense?" 😏

They both laughed together, basking in the peaceful joy of that quiet morning. A new chapter for their family had just begun. 💖
