“I’ve always struggled to figure out exactly who Damien takes after,” Priscilla mused.
The wind swept through the plains, which was alive with the excitement of a race among the men. Chloe swallowed hard, taken aback by the spectacle of shirtless men running. Despite Marguerite’s earlier warnings, the sight of hundreds of scantily clad men racing in a throng was even more shocking than she had anticipated.
“Oh…” Chloe whispered.
Amused by Chloe’s soft gasp of surprise, Priscilla chuckled. “Are you surprised?”
“They do seem rather underdressed for Thisse’s brisk summer,”
“They hold this event even during Thisse’s winters. You missed it last year due to your late arrival, but you’ll have the pleasure of witnessing it this year.”
Chloe fell silent. The mere thought of Thisse’s harsh winter sent shivers down her spine, let alone the idea of such a spectacle taking place in the cold.
