Chloe was aware of their predicament. Deciding it would be best to remove herself from the situation, she offered a graceful wave of her hand.
“The hosts must guide the party,” she said gently. “I should like a breath of fresh air. Is there a place I might go?”
Haywood, the financier, nodded after a moment’s thought. “If it pleases Your Majesty, I can escort you to the terrace.”
“The terrace?”
“Yes. You will have an excellent view of fireworks over the river. They’ll begin shortly.”
