The morning sun shine bright reflecting in Jason's room. Jason looked peaceful; his breathing even, long lashes fluttering slightly as he mumbled in his sleep.
As he was enjoying his life in dream land, the alarm rung loudly bringing him back to reality
He slammed his hand on the alarm
Jason:
Shut the fuck up! Stupid alarm!
He pulled the blanket over his body covering his face. Just then, the realization hit him- he had to go to his grandpa's company. He sat up slightly from the bed resting his head on the headboard. Stretching his hands wide before taking phone from the desk beside his bed. On switching on his phone, he say dozens of messages from people he didn't know.
He scrolled through all the messages.
Jason:
What in the name of hell? What is all these?
His face twisted with frustration.
It was messages from different business partners.
Jason:
I haven't even started working there and I'm already receiving messages from the partners.
He puts a hand over his face in frustration.
He quickly stood up from the bed and stormed to his grandpa's room. As he was walking to his grandpa's room he received another text from his secretary, Pie.
Pie:
Good morning, Mr. Jason.
I'm your secretary. If you would like me to help you with anything, I would be happy to.
Jason looked at the message and let out a hiss, still heading to his grandpa's room. Jason finally got to his grandpa's room.
He swung the door leaving it open.
Grandpa:
What in the name of hell?
His entry startled his grandpa who was lying peacefully in bed.
He raises his phone above his shoulders.
Jason:
I've been receiving lots of messages. I haven't even started working and my phone is bursting with messages.
There was a brief silence in the room.
Grandpa:
Has anyone ever told you you're crazy.
Jason:
Huh?!
He raised an eyebrow in confusion and surprise
His grandpa got up from the bed towards the door where Jason was standing.
Grandpa:
If I wasn't still strong, I would have been dead. Why did you slam the door like that?
Jason:
You still dare to talk?
He raises his phone above his shoulders again.
Jason:
I said I've been receiving dozens of messages. What do you have to say about that?
He asked with his eyes full of anger.
His grandpa left his position to sit at the edge of the bed.
Grandpa:
Ohhhh! About that. I told the company another CEO is coming on his way. So I gave them your contact.
He said with a loud voice.
Jason:
You did what?!
He stammers between sentences
Jason:
Why–what–but why?
He asked with a tense curiosity in his voice.
Grandpa:
What's the deal? It's not the end of the world. You might even like it.
Jason:
You wish! All I'll find is bad luck.
Grandpa:
Now, go get dressed. Mr. Lamphawot is waiting for you outside.
Jason rolled his eyes as he turned to leave.
Jason:
Whatever!
At the office....
Jason leaned in the chair, thinking about how his life just took a wild turn.
Jason:
(I'm I seriously doing this? I guess so because my butt is literally in this office chair)
As Jason was lost in his thought, Pie, his secretary came in.
She held a document in brown envelope in her hands her eyes fixated on her watch.
Pie:
Sir, I brought the report you requested for.
Pie slowly looked up at Jason as she received no answer from him.
Jason was so lost on his thought.
Pie:
Sir?
She hit the desk hard enough to wake him up from his daydream.
Pie:
Mr. Jason!!!
Jason flinched from his seat.
Jason:
You were saying.... What were you saying again?
He got his eyes fixated on Pie with his hands clammed together on the desk.
Pie hands over the document in her hand to Jason.
Pie:
Here's the report, sir.
Jason collected the envelope from her, he looked at the words on the envelope.
Jason:
Oh! The financial statement? Thanks!
Pie:
Is there anything you'd like me to do?
Jason:
No, thanks. You've done a lot. You may leave.
Pie had something to say to Jason but hesitated to say it.
Jason, noticing her nervousness, asked what was wrong.
Jason:
Is there anything else, Pie?
He waited for a response from her.
Pie:
Actually, there is.
She hesitated for a bit before talking.
Pie:
Sir, I would like to resign for personal reasons.
Jason:
What? But why? I'm I give you a workload?
Jason asked rhetorically.
Pie:
No, sir! It's just that..... I'm pregnant and my husband wants me to quit my job.
Jason:
Okay! You can leave your letter on your desk.
Jason relaxed in his chair.
Pie:
Thank you for being considerate, Mr. Jason.
Her face filled with excitement.
As she turned to leave, Jason stopped her.
Jason:
Pie! Please before you leave make sure to hire another secretary. Thank you.
Pie:
No problem, sir. I will make do.
She left the room leaving, Jason in his thought once again.
Jason worked his ass off on his first day of work. The evening sky turned red without him knowing. When he was done with all his work, he headed home.
At home.....
When Jason was done showering, he sat at the edge of the bed pressing his phone. Just has he was having fun texting his friends, Pie messaged him.
Pie:
Sir, I've seen a new secretary for you. He will arrive at the company tomorrow.
Pie:
Again, thank you sir for letting me go.
Jason smiled slightly on seeing the message.
Jason jumped on the bed and crashed hard....
