"The two of them?" Siduri hesitated as she looked at the two beautiful girls surrounded by Fujimaru Ritsuka and the others. "Is that really alright?"

"It's fine. Don't think they're weak."

Shirou Emiya glanced toward Shuna and Little Rimuru, who were chatting happily among themselves.

"If it really came to a fight, even Ushiwakamaru and the other two probably wouldn't be a match for them."

He wasn't exaggerating.

Servants were certainly powerful, but because of their Spiritual Cores, most ordinary Servants only possessed combat strength around LV.4 or LV.5. Demigod Servants or top-tier Servants could reach LV.6 or higher. That was still only their basic combat capability. With especially powerful Noble Phantasms, their effective combat power could fluctuate upward by another one or two levels.

But that was the limit.

Shuna's strength was already at least LV.7.

From a pure strength standpoint, Shirou Emiya wasn't worried at all about accidents happening to them.

And there was more.

Shirou Emiya still possessed the Wind authority from the Ten Incarnations. As long as they called his name in danger, he could instantly appear at their side. With multiple layers of protection in place, there was simply no reason for concern.

"I see." Siduri nodded slightly after hearing his explanation.

Last night, after returning from the Chaldea embassy, she had already met with Gilgamesh and reported everything in detail. Gilgamesh's order had been clear-fully cooperate with Shirou Emiya.

Now that Shirou Emiya wanted to send his subordinates to the wall to resist the demonic beasts, Siduri had no reason to refuse.

"Then I'll go make the arrangements now."

"Thank you, Priestess Siduri."

After watching her leave, Shirou Emiya turned back and rejoined the others.

...

That afternoon, under Uruk's efficiently executed orders, Shuna and Little Rimuru were led by soldiers assigned by Siduri toward the city wall. There, they would serve as key combat forces against the demonic beasts.

After lunch, Fujimaru Ritsuka and the others also went out to look for work, determined to prove their value.

Before long, only Shirou Emiya was left behind in the Chaldea embassy.

"What a sudden sense of loneliness."

He looked around the now-empty tavern, shook his head, and walked outside. After pausing briefly on the bustling street, his steps naturally shifted toward the rhythmic sound of hammering.

"Since I've got nothing to do during the day, I might as well put in a little effort."

Daytime was Shirou Emiya's recovery period.

Of course, this recovery wasn't physical.

Physically, he felt no fatigue at all. His body was in peak condition. But spiritually-his mind and soul felt faintly worn down.

Inside the Inner World, Shirou Emiya constantly expended mental power. And as the one being forged, his Inherent Spiritual Dress-an embodiment of his soul itself-was undergoing refinement. That process naturally placed an enormous burden on his soul.

These weren't things skills could restore.

Only time could.

Because of that, while his body still brimmed with strength, Shirou Emiya couldn't continue forging miracles for the moment.

So he headed to the blacksmiths.

There, he planned to demonstrate just enough of his ability to avoid being seen as a freeloader.

"Don't rush it. Heat it for another thirteen seconds."

"Swing the hammer a few more times. This piece hasn't reached its optimal state yet."

"For this kind of steel, that method works better."

Inside the forge, Shirou Emiya moved constantly among the blacksmiths. Whenever he noticed a technique that could be improved, he spoke up.

At first, the blacksmiths didn't believe he had any real skill. But with priestesses of the Divine Tower accompanying him, they had no choice but to listen.

Then, very quickly, they realized something was wrong.

After following Shirou Emiya's instructions, the quality of their finished weapons improved several times over.

The difference was obvious.

That single fact was enough.

The blacksmiths immediately understood that Shirou Emiya's skill in forging was no joke. Their attitudes changed almost instantly. Obedience replaced doubt, and some even began actively asking him how to improve their techniques further.

Faced with the enthusiasm of Uruk's craftsmen, Shirou Emiya didn't hold back.

He refined their methods based on what they already knew.

Now was a time of desperate war against the demonic beasts. The destruction of Uruk could come at any moment. There was no time to teach entirely new forging systems.

All he could do was polish what already existed.

Even so, that alone multiplied the quality of the soldiers' weapons.

After all, the current Shirou Emiya could already be called the best craftsman beneath the gods. On his Divine Blessing panel, his forging ability had long since reached S-rank.

Still, technique wasn't the only factor.

The dramatic improvement in weapon quality also came from materials.

Mastering techniques took time. Learning to use new materials was far simpler. In the Age of Gods, suitable materials were never scarce. What people lacked was the eye to recognize them and the knowledge to make use of them.

Under the dual innovation of technique and material, the quality of Uruk's weapons rose sharply.

And with that-

The soldiers' casualty rate visibly dropped.

"Excellent. Absolutely excellent."

Gilgamesh rose from his throne, holding a newly forged spear and armor in his hands. His eyes gleamed with unmistakable excitement.

His people had all prepared themselves for death before this battle. But if they could live, how could he, as king, willingly allow them to die?

Weapons that could reduce casualties like this-

Of course he was pleased.

"Shirou Emiya," Gilgamesh said, his voice filled with satisfaction. "What you have done pleases this King greatly."

"Speak. Whatever you desire, this King shall grant it."

"Haha." Shirou Emiya chuckled lightly. "I don't really want anything. As long as you don't blame me for not standing on the front lines."

"Hmph." Gilgamesh snorted. "You underestimate this King."

"This King has never underestimated you. And this King always rewards merit."

"Speak. What do you desire?"

Seeing the smile on Gilgamesh's face, Shirou Emiya thought for a moment.

Then he answered.

"In that case... grant me some precious materials."

"I've been forging weapons recently. More materials wouldn't hurt."

"Materials?" Gilgamesh nodded slowly. "I understand."

The King of Uruk accepted his request without hesitation.
