"Speaking of which," Mash said after a moment of thought, "when Mr. Shirou first introduced himself, he mentioned being a traveler who journeys through many worlds. Could it be... are you a wielder of the Second Magic?"
The Second Magic.
Parallel World Interference.
One of the five remaining True Magics in the Nasuverse.
In this world, True Magic and Magecraft were fundamentally different things. That difference stemmed from a unique concept that defined the system itself.
Mystery.
There was a saying within the world of magecraft.
Lower Mystery cannot interfere with Higher Mystery.
Simply put, regardless of the nature of an existence, the greater the Mystery it carried, the greater its power. In the Age of Gods, all Magecraft was True Magic. Every True Magic possessed terrifying authority. But as human civilization advanced, technology began to replicate what True Magic could once do. As a result, the Mystery of those magics steadily declined.
Fire was the simplest example.
Before humanity fully mastered fire, countless powerful fire spells existed. Magic capable of destroying entire cities in a single strike was not uncommon. But once fire became fully understood and widely used in daily life, the Mystery attached to fire magic collapsed. Spells that once erased cities would now struggle to completely destroy even a single building.
This was the law of Mystery.
As human technology continued to develop, many True Magics degraded into ordinary Magecraft. In the end, only five True Magics retained enough Mystery to persist eternally.
These became known as the Five True Magics.
Among them, the Second Magic-Parallel World Interference-was exactly what its name implied. A power that interfered with parallel worlds. Its wielder could travel freely between different timelines and worlds.
"The Second Magician?" Shirou Emiya smiled faintly and shook his head. "No, that's not me. Besides, isn't the Second Magician the Mage's Association president? Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg?"
"But..." Mash hesitated, clearly confused. "You can travel through many worlds, can't you?"
In Mash's accumulated knowledge, only the Second Magic could accomplish something like that. In fact, this belief was shared by nearly the entire magical world.
"That's true," Shirou Emiya replied calmly. "But I don't use the Second Magic."
He had no intention of hiding anything.
Once he activated the Hero's Mission in this world, the Counter Force should have already noticed him. Of the two Counter Forces, Gaia wouldn't care unless someone was threatening the entire planet. As for Alaya?
That was his future boss.
Shirou Emiya suspected Alaya had already noticed his ability to travel between worlds. In his original world, the Counter Force had directly intervened during the final battle. From what he remembered from his previous life's anime knowledge, the Tanaka who assisted Illya had actually been Gaia itself.
With Gaia personally stepping onto the stage, it would be stranger if Alaya hadn't been paying attention.
Since the big shots already knew, there was no point in hiding anything.
"I use other methods to travel," Shirou Emiya continued. "And I don't go to parallel worlds. I go to worlds that exist outside the entire system of this world."
"Outside... the world?" Merlin's ears perked up instantly. He had been listening quietly until now, but at those words, he couldn't help himself.
He didn't doubt Shirou Emiya's honesty.
Only something like that could explain the lightning he wielded.
Power that didn't belong to this world.
Attracted by Shirou Emiya's words, Merlin leaned closer. So did Fujimaru Ritsuka and Mash. Even Ana, who had remained distant and quiet the entire time, stepped nearer without realizing it.
Everyone was interested.
Seeing their reactions, Shirou Emiya didn't bother concealing anything further. He began to speak about the world he had come from. About the DanMachi world. About his experiences there.
"Gods seal their divine power and descend into the human world," Shirou Emiya explained evenly. "They form Familias. Humans explore dungeons, grow stronger, surpass their limits through great deeds, and become heroes."
"It's a world built around heroes."
"That sounds incredible..." Merlin sighed openly, eyes gleaming. "A world like that-exploring dungeons alongside Familia companions. I really want to go there myself."
"Yeah," Fujimaru Ritsuka nodded instinctively. "It really does sound amazing."
Mash agreed as well, her expression full of fascination.
"I'm sorry to interrupt," Ana said suddenly, her voice calm but firm, "but you've noticed them too, haven't you?"
"The monsters."
Unlike the others, Ana never stopped paying attention to her surroundings. Even while listening, she remained alert. And before the enemy drew too close, she sensed them.
"Eh? Monsters?" Mash immediately stepped in front of Fujimaru Ritsuka, raising her shield as she looked ahead cautiously.
"Relax," Shirou Emiya said with an easy smile as he stepped out from behind Mash's shield. "Just leave the monsters to me."
"Then we'll leave it to you," Merlin said lightly. "After all, we're all quite curious about your strength."
Hearing that, Ana quietly put away her weapon. She stepped back into the group without a word.
Shirou Emiya walked forward, taking the lead.
Soon, dust rose on the horizon.
As the cloud approached, the figures of the monster horde came into view.
"So many..." Mash tightened her grip on her shield. Individually, the monsters weren't strong. She could handle them easily. But there were simply too many.
At a glance, there were hundreds.
"So many gathered together," Shirou Emiya muttered calmly. "Is it a coincidence? Or is someone pulling the strings?"
He paused for a moment.
"Doesn't matter."
"No matter how many there are, I'll deal with them all."
As the horde closed in, Shirou Emiya remained completely composed. His hands stayed casually in his pockets. There wasn't even a hint of tension about him.
"Projection start."
That was all he said.
The next instant, countless Noble Phantasms were projected into existence and fired outward. Each weapon carried a severing concept, imbued with piercing power. They tore through the monsters in the front ranks and continued onward, cutting down those behind them as well.
In just a few moments, nothing remained standing.
Silence returned to the forest.
"The monsters themselves aren't important," Shirou Emiya said as he turned back toward the stunned Fujimaru Ritsuka and Mash, smiling lightly.
"The only thing we really need to be wary of..."
"Is the goddess."
