Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: The Lord of Mysteries

"How troublesome..." Tianzun muttered.

Immediately he began to decrypt the authorities and identities of the outer gods in front of him. A huge blue blazing sun erupted with the intensity of a supernova. Only to hit the other god who instantly fired back with attempts to invade his mind.

Tianzun observed the careful dynamic as numerous marionettes and avatars surged forth. A strange dark sheep looking creature was decrypted to be Shub-Niggurath. She moved first, the Holy Mother of the Abyss twitched as her womb split open and numerous creatures and spawns of madness surged forth like a dark tide.

The dark tide of madness halted for a moment before they turned on each other, each believing they were attacking the designated target. Blind stupidity had affected every one of them except that squid who was identified as Cthulhu.

"I think I may have your cousin in an aquarium. Do you wish to join him?" Tianzun grinned with mirth. He turned to Shub-Niggurath who was currently dealing with her own spawn attempting to attack her.

Using the authority of the Door, a strange but weird connection was made. The womb was also a door in a way no? His output of blind stupidity had caused Shub-Niggurath to severely miss the small detail that her womb exit was sealed.

Left with only the instincts to produce life, at any moment it would lead to an explosion. Since by logic no life was being birthed and she was incapable of birthing life. Fooling convinced reality that the lie was truth and the truth was a lie.

With Shub-Niggurath no longer being able to act on her symbolism, he displaced her into a space-time labyrinth within the spirit world.

Cthulhu had authority in the mind domain so Tianzun was aware that Blind Stupidity wouldn't work for long. He was immediately exiled into the Historical Void for a moment. He could be dealt with later. The blazing blue sun erupted once again, attempting to burn him with vast amounts of energy.

His authority over change induced an error during the build up as the flames began to halt and reverse into a black hole. The time taken to stabilise themselves had resulted in thousands and thousands of seals acting all at once. Cthugha felt that escape was necessary only to suddenly lose the thought.

Thousands of Tianzun's were attempting to steal her power and the thought of escape. In that instant, the blazing blue sun had been sealed into an oil lamp.

The other deities flinched at that scene. They were starting to recognise the difficult of their opponent. He could fight on multiple fronts easily. While he was dealing with Shub-Niggurath and Cthulhu, he had also been simultaneously keeping the others at bay and picking them off one by one.

Cthugha had become an oil lamp. Cthulhu had been banished to the historical void, the authority held by the Lord of Mysteries. In that moment, the avatar and main body switched places as Nyarlathotep the great dreamer targeted Tianzun with a script.

A story, a narrative of his defeat had been written into this narrative as foreign words and ink dripped out of the great dreamer's finger. Nyarlathotep's story continued and if it reached the end, Tianzun would be done for.

This was authority over trickery and fate.

Blind stupidity was enforced once again and an error was induced. The error within the story led the great dreamer's story to reach a different conclusion. His symbolism as the "Beacon of Destiny" and authority over change allowed him to hijack Nyarlathotep's narrative leading to a backfire.

Nyarlothotep found himself surrounded as his power slowly waned while multiple seals were being erected simultaneously. His use of fate manipulations constantly failed as errors erupted every time.

Tianzun watched as the other deities were dealing with his avatars and marionettes. In that instant he grafted himself to a location far away and created a localised consecutive supernova explosions.

In that instant, he had directed Nyarlothotep to escape the seal only to be hit by several blinding explosions of stars and corruption.

The world shook and rumbled, yet it stood firm. A worldwide seal had been deployed to prevent the great old ones from entering. Far above, a battle unimaginable to the human mind was happening.

Tianzun remained untouched, as long as none of them had symbolisms that countered his, he could fight as many as he wants.

One had a portion of his authority and powers split and sealed into a curtain while the other had his main symbolism stripped and sealed within an old lantern. These items had been thrown into a randomised door which Tianzun didn't even know where they went to.

The other had been forced to run away.

The last one was more difficult, chaos. While chaos was the source of change, he could influence change but not chaos itself.

At this point he could only bluff, he certainly did not want this fight to go on longer than needed.

"There is no need to continue this further." Tianzun spoke glaring at the monstrosity. It wasn't a mythical creature form in the common sense that he had imagined. It was just weird.

The outer deity could not understand what was being said clearly, Tianzun simply threw his message into a raving as it transferred to the deity.

The wriggling lump of flesh halted for a bit as a silent agreement was made.

It was essentially a cease fire agreement. You don't harm me, I don't harm you.

At that point with it's colleagues sealed and stripped of authorities, the rationality overcame madness for an instant.

The darkness of the great old ones receded as Tianzun descended back to earth. In that moment he crossed the world's reality marble he heard a whisper of gratitude.

With one more glance at the vast cosmos he felt them flinch in fear. The great outer ones prided themselves on their respective authorities. Yet now it had been revealed that those authorities and powers could be stripped from them.

The worst imagined being hunted and reduced to less than nothing. The moment the Lord of Mystery's gaze met them, they looked away in hopes that he would not find them. Deep inside they knew they were deluding themselves.

There was nowhere safe in front of the King of Space-Time.

N/A: Updates are going to slow down now. I'm going to be splitting my time in some experimental fics. But here's a chapter I struggled to get out.
