Nox's POV:
So, apparently the mountains I was planning to escape through were a forbidden zone protected by layers of defensive barriers. It seems like they might have a secret or two stashed away in here. Good news is, I know a way to bypass all of their defenses without breaking anything. Bad news is, I got spotted right before stepping through the temporary hole I had made in the barrier. I am now running through the trees while being chased by a small army of soldiers.
Luckily, I don't have much trouble running circles around them in this dark forest with all the trees, bushes and rocks I can use as cover. I was currently sitting on a tall branch looking down on the bustling crowd of armored men running about the place.
"THERE SHE IS!"
"Oops! I got spotted!"
*BOOM*
"DON'T USE FIRE YOU IDIOT! WHAT IF YOU BURNED DOWN THE FOREST?"
I jumped to another tree as I watched a guy get yelled at for throwing a fireball at me. I continued to jump from branch to branch until I suddenly spotted a guy flying in the path of my next branch.
"GOT-! Ugh!"
"Better luck next time!" I said as I poked the guy giving me a bearhug in the eyes.
I then used his chest as a platform to jump headfirst into a bush on the ground while he was stunned.
"ARGH! WHERE DID SHE GO?"
I had reached a place with less guys running about as they soon lost track of me after that. It's not easy playing hide and seek with so many seekers around, so I guess I should start cutting down their numbers a bit.
"Huh?"
*Swoosh*
*Muffled screams*
*Snapp*
I started targeting the ones that were alone, sneaking up on them from behind before using my aura enhanced body to knock them out, before hiding their bodies. I would have liked to kill them, but I can't confidently say I'd be able to shut up their ghosts before they alerted the others without my core to restrain them. So, I just hid their bodies in a bush or something before moving on.
"Hm? HEY!"
Of course, with how everyone was searching around, it didn't take long before someone found one of my victims. Now that they knew it wasn't safe to go alone through the dark woods, the young couples started teaming up into groups of two and three as they went to go piss in my woods. How dare they! As the new woodland monster of these parts, I will not stand for this disrespect. I then began to enact my vengeance upon these fools who dared step foot into my lands. I set up countless traps using both magical and non-magical means. The last series of traps to finish off the last survivors were pure and simple.
"ooo! I am a spooky scary ghost!" I said, dressed up in the ghost costume I had made from the sheets of a coma patient I found inside a nearby cabin.
"GET HER!"
"AAAAHHH!"
I watched as the dumbasses who rushed in without thinking fell into my pit trap. Just because they can see their surroundings with a sixth sense, doesn't mean they are always aware of sed surroundings. The moment they saw me, those with tunnel vision fell into trap number 1, and depending on whether or not they remembered they could fly in time, got skewered by the swords I had stolen from the guys I knocked out.
*BANG*
I cut the rope to activate good old trap number 2. It was just a tree I had tied up out of view. The moment the rope was cut, the log came smacking into the guys who hopped over trap number 1. However, someone finally remembered they could use their qi and turned into light particles before appearing right in front of me, activating trap number 3.
"WHAT THE!?"
"I call this one the marsh coffin!" I said, as I cut the rope to close the lid of the casket.
*SPLASH*
*SPLASH*
*SPLASH*
There happened to be a foggy marsh in this forest, and I just so happened to find a dusty old mirror in the cabin where I bought my Halloween costume. So, I placed it in the center of the marsh to create an optical illusion to lure in the approaching soldiers. Then once they jumped into the marsh, I would release the logs I had strapped above it to stomp them into the mud.
"Good thing they had so many whips on hand! I wouldn't have nearly enough rope to do this otherwise! I guess I should also thank miss sleeping beauty for the costume and mirror! Welp! I think that's enough for today! Let's go!"
"Go where exactly?" The old man said as he grabbed my shoulder from behind.
"HAHAHAHA!"
"This isn't funny, Ning! Stop laughing!"
I guess I shouldn't have spent so much time playing hide and go boo, cause the old man had apparently caught up before I could run down the hills of freedom, and he had brought along some bodybuilder and a monocled rat, both with white hair.
...
Ming's POV:
It would seem I had severely underestimated the lass. She had somehow broken into the forbidden area of the estate, before chipping away at the men who followed after her. When we arrived, we were greeted by a trail of injured or dead bodies leading further into the mountain.
"THAT INGRATE! SHE MUST BE AFTER-!"
*Swoosh*
"OUT OF THE WAY!" I shouted as I pushed past Ping.
I don't know what I will do if I find out she hurt her. Fortunately. it seems like the little lass wasn't trying to kill Ai as I found her resting peacefully in the cabin, with the only things missing being her blanket and the old mirror that stood in the corner last I was here.
By the time Ning and Ping had caught up I was already done searching the cabin.
"Father! Is-?"
"She is fine! The lass wasn't there!"
*distant screams*
Startling a flock of birds, we heard shouts in the distance. We flew in the direction the sound was coming from and soon I spotted the lass. She was draped in Ai's blanket, while burying one of the soldiers protecting this land under a pile of wooden logs.
"Welp! I think that's enough for today! Let's go!"
"Go where exactly?" I asked as I grabbed the resourceful girl by the shoulder.
As impressed as I was she managed to make a fool of all the countless nascent souls guarding this place with her resourceful tricks, I am nonetheless rather furious she had broken in here and stolen Ai's blanket.
"HAHA! The look on his face when he grabbed the mirror was hilarious!" Ning laughed, while the mud-stained man who just managed to crawl out from under the logs gave her a glare.
"What is Takeru doing! How dare he let these weaklings who can't even catch a single little girl, guard our land! This is why I said we shouldn't have relied on that useless man for such an important matter!" Ping said with an angry expression.
"Oh, look! A rat!" The lass said, pointing at Ping.
"What did you just ca-!"
*squeak*
Just then a rodent fell from a nearby branch and on to Pings head.
"AH! GET IT OFF OF ME!"
"Hm?"
Just as my attention turned towards my son who was trying to shake off the squirl that had crawled down his collar, the lass disappeared, leaving me holding the white blanket she had worn over her head as it fluttered in the wind.
