Chapter 38 - The Dream Brought by The Witch (Ⅱ)

After a while, Kaido felt as if he was floating in the universe.

When his consciousness fully awakened, he found himself in an immensely large cylindrical room, and all he could see were shelves filled with books.

Instinctively, he looked up, only to discover that even with his eyesight, he couldn't see the end.

And the shelves continued to extend upwards, seemingly endless.

"Where is this place?"

Kaido murmured to himself, walked towards the nearest shelf, and took out a book.

However, he discovered that he couldn't understand a single word in the book.

He carelessly flipped through some pages and even found some places where modifications had been made.

As he put the book back, he suddenly felt a faint magical aura behind him.

Kaido looked back cautiously, only to find a small blue and white cat sitting on a book, watching him.

Its fur was soft and blue, its belly was pure white without any stains, and its wide-open eyes, looking at him, were a beautiful light blue.

The kitten emitted soft magic, making Kaido unable to resist wanting to hold it in his arms and pet it until it became bald.

Just as Kaido didn't know how to react, the cute kitten spoke.

"No human has ever set foot in this place; you're the first."

That the cat spoke didn't surprise Kaido much.

"Huh... can I ask where this place is?"

"Did you come here without knowing anything?"

The kitten's eyes widened, and after looking at him with suspicion for a while, it let out a human-like sigh.

"How lucky you are. It doesn't matter, come with me. My master has been waiting for you for a long time."

After speaking, the kitten licked its paws, and the endless shelves behind it opened, revealing a path.

"Who is your master?"

Although Kaido knew the only name present in the Witch's Book, he still asked.

"The supreme great witch. As for her name, as a servant, I'm not allowed to call her by her name, but you should have seen it in the Witch's Book," the kitten said weakly.

Raziel Augustus Aurora.

In his day, he manipulated various worlds as if they were games, and his origin is unknown. Kaido only knew this about the origin of his name.

He didn't discuss it further here, but asked another question.

"What's with these books?"

You shouldn't touch these books randomly, because each one represents a world. Flipping through them carelessly could cause irreversible effects. My daily job is to take care of them.

the kitten said.

"Each book is a world?"

Kaido asked in surprise.

Of course! Did you think they were illustrated books for children? Mmm... in a way, that statement isn't incorrect either.

The kitten nodded, then shook its head and continued guiding Kaido forward.

After an unknown amount of time, after passing the last row of shelves, the human and the cat finally entered a relatively smaller room.

The walls were white, carved with murals and text. Although there was no lighting, every corner of the room was illuminated with its own light. A luxurious silk-upholstered sofa occupied the center of the room. Through the transparent curtains, a magnificent figure sat on the bed, flipping through an ancient book with both hands.

Perhaps sensing Kaido's arrival, a clear and mysterious voice sounded.

"Welcome to the Witch's Wonderland, chosen child."

Talking about Wonderland, Kaido had to mention Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck from his childhood, and talking about Mickey, he had to talk about Mickey's Wonderland, which was once the innocent fantasy of many children.

And after growing up, Wonderland acquired a new meaning that children should ignore.

As Kaido complained in his mind, the voice from before sounded again.

It seems you're not very satisfied with the new name I gave it, but the name of a residence is just a designation. Let's get to the point.

The transparent curtain opened automatically from both sides, revealing the figure lounging on the bed.

Kaido was stunned for a few seconds.

Her exquisite face, her relaxed and languid expression, her long and smooth black hair, and her plump and slender body under a slightly loose tunic. Her delicate legs, which peeked out from under the hem of her dress, were even more captivating.

Her charm was ten thousand times more attractive than Erica and Liliana's.

"The main point? Is that why you called me?"

Kaido regained his composure and asked calmly.

"Yes and no. You obtained the Witch's Book that I left, didn't you?" Raziel asked.

"Are you talking about this?"

Kaido summoned the Witch's Book and returned to normal.

"This should be something I got by chance, right?"

"Chance? No, when you got that book, it was already inevitable."

Raziel smiled, then took the Witch's Book in front of Kaido in her palm, flipping through it slowly, smiling occasionally.

This book is different from the ones outside. It possesses the power to modify and create. Although it's an inferior product, it's quite rare that you can use it to this extent.

As Raziel narrated, Kaido suddenly felt a strange sadness.

"It's time. You should return now."

The girl's voice remained soft and languid.

Do you hear? You haven't said anything yet!

Kaido suddenly felt his consciousness sinking gradually and couldn't help but shout.

"Any more words are just fleeting clouds, but I'll give you some advice."

Her beautiful figure was moving further and further away from him.

"The lower worlds are just chessboards for superior beings, and the Witch's Book can help you transform from a chess piece to a chess player."

"Of course, all this depends on your own thoughts."

Before he could think, the library and Raziel's shadow collapsed.

"..."

Kaido lay in the bathroom, letting the warm water spray his face.

He also heard the last sentence.

"Don't forget my name."

"Although I'd like to forget, I couldn't."

Kaido forced a bitter smile. The name engraved in the Witch's Book had already marked his soul. Although he didn't know how Raziel did it, even if he forgot himself now, he would never forget her.

"You're so afraid that I'll forget your name, how childish are you!"

This small gesture made Kaido not know whether to laugh or cry.

However, he then remembered that inexplicable sadness.

"Is your name really that important to you?"

Although he met the legendary witch, none of his questions got an answer.

Muttering to himself, Kaido remembered what the cat had said.

Each book is a world, and each word it contains talks about things that happened in the past, present, and future.

"The Witch's creation and modification book... seems I really got something extraordinary."

His slightly furrowed eyebrows relaxed quickly.

It didn't make sense to rack his brains now. The secrets of the Witch's Book and Raziel would probably be revealed gradually as his strength increased.

After washing off the dirt, Kaido changed his clothes, came out of the bathroom, and headed to the balcony.

A gentle breeze caressed his face softly, the faint sunlight bathed the earth, and the clamor of the previous night had dissipated. Dark clouds were gathering in the distant sky, but this was not due to any magical power; it was a natural change in the weather.

The city of Adria had lived its most unforgettable night. Few people were seen near the port, probably hiding in their homes or rushing to supermarkets to buy supplies.

In general, it didn't affect Kaido much; he wanted to rest for a while during this period.

Soon it was afternoon, and Kaido woke up the two girls who were still sleeping in the bed to eat.

Italy, as an important European country, has a completely different culture from its neighbor, the United Kingdom.

This characteristic is more evident in its culinary culture.

If the United Kingdom is an inexperienced youth, Italy is a Michelin-starred chef.

The Stargazy pie and simple fries would never appear on the menu of famous Italian dishes. As a country with a rich culinary culture dating back to the ancient Roman Empire, Italy's culinary techniques and skills can be considered the "best in Europe", completely dominating its neighbor.

As someone born in a food-loving country, he couldn't bear the terrible culinary techniques used in the United Kingdom during the few days he lived in Alice's villa.

If he hadn't restrained himself in time, he really wanted to send all those chefs to New Oriental to be trained for a few years before they returned.

"Wang, what do you plan to do next?"

The aroma of butter, onion, and fried rice spread through the air. Erica put down the spoon and, seeing Kaido using chopsticks, asked while learning to use them correctly.

"What do you mean by 'what to do'?"

Kaido took a piece of bacon to his mouth. The flavor was completely different from the cheap food buffet he used to eat.

It's about the consequences of Marquis Voban's disappearance. The Balkan Peninsula is now without a leader, and Voban's former subordinates must have learned of their master's defeat, and even normal society has been shocked.

Clatter!

The expensive ivory chopsticks slipped out of her hand. Erica's face puffed up, and she picked them up again, refusing to give up.

And the prestige you've accumulated after defeating Voban is also growing constantly. Apart from Italy, some Magical Societies from other European countries also want to join Kaido's command.

Liliana looked at Erica, who was still trying to learn how to use chopsticks, and wisely decided not to force herself to learn.

Not all God Slayers could enjoy such treatment.

Swearing loyalty meant being tied to a God Slayer for life, so choosing a suitable leader was definitely not a decision that could be taken lightly.

Previously, Kaido had used coercion and induction to force Italy to become his subordinate.

However, Voban's defeat made his prestige soar, and some of the previous complaints disappeared completely.

It's not just that. Now everyone knows that Kaido bears a grudge against Voban, and adding to his past, he and his Magical Society have offended many companions. Some organizations might be preparing to take this opportunity for revenge... Success!

After Erica reported the matters in a serious tone, she suddenly let out a small gasp.

However, before she could be happy for a long time, the chopsticks in her delicate hands lost control again.

"I'll just take care of the fights; you two can handle everything else."

Kaido knew that his political skills were definitely not as good as Erica's, so he simply left everything to her.

"Understood, Wang."

Erica responded clearly. For Kaido's trust, she must respond with absolute devotion.

"Huh? I suddenly realized that, Wang, you're even more charming than before."
