December 7, 1998.
3 PM.
Los Angeles, Burbank area.
Google's two owners, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, along with their first and only employee, Craig Silverstein, traveled for four hours from Menlo Park, California, and finally arrived in Los Angeles.
Designated location.
The three parked their car.
"Hi, you three must be Larry Page, Sergey Brin, and Craig Silverstein from Google. Let me introduce myself, I'm Tras Chekh Andreyev, from Golden Dawn Entertainment Group. I'm one of Mr. Page's assistant team members, and I'll be arranging your itinerary from now on."
"You can call me Chekh."
Chekh was a 26-year-old Polish-American.
He graduated from Harvard University with a Ph.D. in Economic Management and Analysis.
He currently works for Kyle's assistant team, under the supervision of Alexander, the chief assistant.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Chekh."
Of course, Larry Page and the others also had impressive educational backgrounds.
Although Larry Page and Sergey Brin were both only 26 years old, they both graduated from Stanford University with Ph.D.s in Computer Science;
Craig Silverstein was no less impressive, also holding a Ph.D. in Theoretical Computer Science.
"What a coincidence, we're all Ph.D. graduates?!" Chekh smiled.
In fact, did Chekh not know this before?
As one of Kyle's assistants, these were essential tasks.
"It's getting late, and I've scheduled your meeting for 8 AM tomorrow. How about I take you around downtown Los Angeles today?" Chekh said.
"Of course, no problem."
Larry Page and the other two were typical IT guys.
The word "relax" was already a very distant concept for them.
So they were naturally very happy now!
First stop on the itinerary: checking into the hotel!
Chekh arranged a five-star hotel in downtown Los Angeles for the three of them. Well, although it wasn't a presidential suite, it wasn't cheap either.
Sergey Brin gasped, "My goodness, this room costs $330 a night. Three rooms, that's nearly $1000. It's really not cheap!"
Craig immediately nodded in agreement, "Exactly, with that money, I could buy a new color analyzer."
However... Larry Page, standing next to them, turned red.
He whispered, "Guys, can you keep it down? It's embarrassing to talk like that in front of Mr. Chekh."
Instantly, Sergey and Craig also blushed, looking a bit awkward.
Although IT guys usually don't pay much attention to their appearance or personal lives, this isn't due to their personality.
It's because they don't have money!
Look at them in the future, including those who became rich through the internet, like Larry Ellison and Mark Kyleerberg, which one of them isn't buying mansions, luxury cars, yachts, and planes like crazy? They even bought private islands.
At this time, without money, the three of them naturally envied the lives of the wealthy.
Second stop on the itinerary: watching a game at the stadium.
Staples Center.
It is one of Los Angeles' iconic buildings, a shared arena for the NBA's Lakers and Clippers.
Tonight, the 4th round of the 98-99 regular season will be held here: Lakers vs. Clippers.
"Yeah~~~!"
"Well done!"
"Awesome!"
"Shaquille O'Neal, he's the king of the court~~~!"
Chekh took Larry and the other two to watch the game.
Sergey and Craig were relatively reserved. But Larry Page screamed hysterically.
"Mr. Chekh, were you scared? Larry is a crazy basketball fan, he even joined the school team in middle school." Sergey covered his face.
"It's fine." Chekh waved his hand.
Larry Page also felt a little embarrassed at the moment. After all, this was the first NBA basketball game he had ever seen live.
Third stop on the itinerary: the bar.
Los Angeles has a very rich nightlife, and bars and nightclubs are very representative entertainment activities.
As perennial homebodies, Larry Page and the other two hadn't participated in nightlife for who knows how long. Under Chekh's arrangement, the three of them completely let loose.
Wine, whiskey, brandy, vodka, beer... ****;
All kinds of flirtatious performances;
Larry Page and the other two were practically ecstatic!
...The next day.
Larry and the other two woke up groggily in their hotel beds; they had gone wild yesterday.
Before long, the three of them, led by Chekh, arrived at the Page Pictures building in Burbank.
"Boss, the matter has been investigated." Chekh said to Kyle.
"Oh? Tell me quickly." Kyle asked eagerly.
Chekh nodded, "Boss, the three of them are definitely typical IT guys; their alcohol tolerance is unusually poor. I took them to watch a game yesterday and then to a nightclub. After a few drinks, they spilled everything. Well, basically, whatever I asked, they answered, completely without reservation."
"You managed to sort it out so quickly?!"
At this moment, Kyle was very surprised.
Chekh had a well-known nickname at Golden Dawn Entertainment Group: "The Little Prince of Nightlife."
Of course, he also had a very powerful strength, and that was social skills!
He was a very clever fellow, very good at interpersonal communication, and could often inadvertently figure out your thoughts and intentions.
Why did Kyle arrange for Chekh to host Larry and the other two?
It was precisely to send Chekh to probe Larry and the others' true intentions!
Once their background was thoroughly understood, what problems would there be in investing in Google?
It must be said that Kyle was indeed cunning enough.
And shameless enough!
Although Larry and the other two were all Ph.D.s, how could they understand the treachery of human hearts? How could they know how cunning the famous Kyle truly was?
In fact, Kyle didn't expect to settle it in one go using sugar-coated bullets; he planned to take about half a month, but who knew these three were so easy to deal with?
"Boss, Larry and Sergey, as the owners of Google, don't refuse to accept investment, and even welcome external investors. But I learned last night that they absolutely will not give up control of Google, at least not at the moment."
Chekh said in a deep voice.
Hearing this, Kyle nodded heavily and said, "In that case, giving up control is not impossible."
Not long after.
Kyle appeared!
"Mr. Page~~~!"
Larry and the other two were all very excited to see Kyle.
Kyle Page, the famous Hollywood film company owner, and a well-known angel investor in the internet field. Which of his investments, such as ICQ, LinkedIn, Amazon, and Yahoo, isn't famous throughout America?
Tell me, how could these three novices not be excited?
To put it bluntly, in front of the three of them, Kyle was an undisputed god-like figure in the internet field at the moment!
