Chapter 2 - Chaos

Now, the vice principal could be confirmed dead. Liam felt complicated emotions, but he didn't know any other way to stop him except by killing him.

Maybe… he had already died the moment he became a Zombie.

Liam walked to the door and peeked outside the classroom. What he found was pure chaos. The schoolyard was filled with Zombies, and the remaining students were desperately trying to survive.

Just because everyone had a skill didn't mean they could fight.

Those who could fight had certain advantages in life. Liam often exercised, and there were also fantasy-obsessed guys like Anthony.

One by one, the students in his class started looking out too.

They could only freeze in place, shocked by the terrifying sight.

"What should we do? There are Zombies everywhere," one female student said, her voice shaking.

"Let's call the police," Lisa replied, only to be met with strange looks from the others.

"Why?" she asked, confused by their reaction.

Unfortunately, her question only made a few people scratch their heads in frustration.

As for Liam, he checked his phone—only to find that the signal was completely gone.

For someone from the Alpha Generation like him, who had owned a smartphone since he was a baby, he had never experienced losing signal unless he was somewhere extremely remote.

"Fight and get stronger. That's the only thing we can do now," Liam said to the whole class.

"Lisa, follow me," he added before charging toward the swarm of Zombies.

At the very least, his ability was outstanding—he didn't need to hesitate.

Although Lisa seemed useless, Liam had experienced firsthand how effective her skill could be. With her support, he could fight much better.

Lisa, still confused, adjusted her glasses that were nearly falling off.

Finally, she gritted her teeth and ran after Liam.

Even though they weren't particularly close, their houses were near each other, so she trusted him more than the others.

"Damn, Liam's forming his own team," one of the students muttered.

"Let's make a team too," Anthony replied, glaring at Liam with displeasure.

But what really annoyed him was how much more attention Liam was getting. It made him feel like an NPC while Liam was the main character.

The problem was—no one seemed eager to form a group with him. Especially the girls, since he had previously declared that he'd make all the prettiest girls in school his harem. That pretty much exposed him as a dangerous pervert.

At this moment, Liam arrived in front of three Zombies at once.

He hoped to kill them so he could level up.

Luckily, Lisa understood exactly what he needed. She sent her green light toward him before he even asked. It quickly restored his Mana and Stamina.

"Hua!"

Liam struck with both hands—his right hand, transformed into a dragon claw, and his left hand wielding a sword.

Shua!

Bruak!

His sword sliced off a Zombie's leg while his claw tore open another's stomach. One died instantly, but the one missing a leg was still alive and lunged at him.

He dodged easily, then stabbed it in the back and slammed it down hard. It finally died—but the last Zombie suddenly picked up a large flower pot and hurled it at him.

He quickly used his dragon hand to block.

BANG!

The flower pot shattered into pieces, but his dragon hand wasn't shaken at all. Its physical strength was immense.

"Die!" Liam couldn't help shouting as his blood began to boil.

He slashed at the Zombie's head, splitting it into four pieces.

DING!

(You have killed three Level 1 Zombies. You gained 30 Battle Points!)

(Battle Points: 100/100)

DING!

(You leveled up to Level 1. You gained 1 Attribute Point which you can assign to any of your attributes with your mind. If not manually assigned, the System will distribute it evenly!)

Liam wasn't exactly sure which attribute to pick.

He considered how to allocate the single Attribute Point. He didn't expect to only get one.

'Maybe I should just put it into Strength. After all, what I need most right now is raw power,' he thought.

DING!

(You have added 1 Attribute Point to Strength!)

[Name: Liam Moonvale]

(Level: 1)

(Battle Points: 0/200)

(System Points: 20)

(Strength: 1.7) +1

(Defense: 0.5)

(Agility: 0.6)

(Stamina: 0.5)

(Vitality: 0.4)

(Mana: 0.1)

'This feeling?'

Adding 1 point to his Strength attribute instantly gave Liam an overwhelming sense of physical power, like he had undergone some kind of evolution.

He wasn't unfamiliar with the sensation of getting stronger—he had felt it many times after drinking strength-enhancing supplements before workouts. But this time, the effect was on an entirely different level.

ROAR!

Suddenly, Liam heard a roar from behind him.

He quickly turned around—only to find a Level 2 Zombie.

It was an old man, dressed in filthy rags.

He was a homeless man who often begged in front of the school gate.

Liam was a bit stunned by his appearance—he had a huge body and an enormous mouth, big enough to swallow a human head whole.

Apparently, Zombies came in many different forms.

Just as Liam was about to make a move, a big student snuck up behind the Zombie.

He was carrying a massive sword—2.5 meters long and 40 cm wide.

Whoosh!

The large student, Alex, swung the sword at the Zombie, slicing him clean in half.

"Hahaha! Liam, looks like I beat you to it," the guy said, laughing.

"Look behind you," Liam replied calmly.

Even he was surprised by what he saw.

It was the black guard dog of the school.

Except now—it had grown as big as a cow.

(Monster Level 3!)

Liam received a notification about the beast.

Its mouth opened wide as it lunged at Alex.

Whoosh!

Liam dashed forward, overtaking Alex and throwing a punch with his dragon hand.

To his surprise, his dragon hand grew even larger as he struck.

BANG!

The punch landed on the dog's head, staggering it and knocking it down.

Its consciousness seemed shaken by the blow.

Just because its level was higher didn't mean it could take a full punch from his dragon fist.

"Die…"

Liam didn't waste a moment. He approached the now-giant dog and struck its head again as it lay on the ground.

BANG!

This punch was even stronger—he leapt into the strike and had gotten used to the growing size of his hand.

The dog's head instantly caved in, its brains splattering everywhere.

DING!

(You have killed a Level 3 Monster. You gained 30 Battle Points and 30 Skill Points!)

(Battle Points: 30/200)

(System Points: 50)

"Hm?" Suddenly, Liam saw the dog's corpse turning into a ball of light.

Buzz!

It disappeared a moment later, revealing a small crystal orb with a floating virtual display above it.

(C-Tier Skill: "Wind Blade" – A skill that allows you to coat your sword with wind!)

DING!

(Notification: You can consume this crystal orb to learn the skill!)

"Consume it?"

Though it sounded ridiculous, Liam actually put the crystal into his mouth. It was small enough—not a big deal.

As it entered his mouth, the orb quickly melted into a strange liquid that flowed down his throat.

DING!

(You have acquired the C-Tier Skill: "Wind Blade!")
