Chapter 85 - 84 - Enter the Underworld [1]

A few days passed, before proceeding to enter the Underworld, Kenshin didn't want his students to stay idle—so he gave them an assignment—a very hard one as a matter of fact.

Create their own magic spell. It doesn't matter how strong it is, how convenient, or anything. As long as their creativity shows and they'd manage to make one.

After sending the message to them and not bothering to wait for their reactions in which he's absolutely sure would be a bunch of groans and protests—Kenshin grabbed the curled sleeping Ophis from his bed and directly teleported to Yasaka's side.

———

"Are you sure you want to come with me? I can handle myself just fine, you know? While you still have the entire Yokai faction on your back." Grabbing Yasaka's hand, Kenshin asked her again out of concern.

Yasaka slightly glanced at Ophis who was sitting on Kenshin's shoulders—she still couldn't see that the literal Infinite Dragon God clings to Kenshin like he's her lifeline.

"Don't worry. It's fine. The clone technique remember?" Yasaka replied with a smirk as she pointed at the exact replica of her that was sitting behind a desk, her head scanning the documents in her hand.

Kenshin shrugged her shoulders, "Fair enough. Smart way to use it I guess." Of course, he used to do the same. Right?

Giving Yasaka's clone who seemed already tired of dealing with the paperwork one last look, Kenshin grabbed the real Yasaka's hands and activated the Devil-version of Teleportation.

A green magic circle with a curled-looking scorpion in the middle was lit, engulfing the three of them in green motes of light before eventually disappearing, leaving the Yasaka Clone and her constant pen writing on the documents.

———

A few seconds passed before they eventually reappeared but this time, in the Underworld.

"Whoa." Yasaka blinked her eyes a few times, adjusting their pupils to the sudden change in temperature and lighting.

When she finally opened them fully, she was amazed by the huge difference compared to the human world.

The most noticeable was the sky. Instead of the usual bright blue color, the sky masked everything in purple.

Yasaka scanned her surroundings and saw nothing but purple grasses and trees, "Where are we?"

"I'm not sure. Almost everything in that devil's memories was nothing but the bases and headquarters of his master so I opted for a random location during the teleportation." Kenshin rubbed his chin as he answered.

He's not an idiot to teleport into one of those bases, there are too many complications. It would literally announce their arrival to the entire Underworld.

"Ophis, what do you think? Is this your first time here?" Kenshin raised his head slightly to look at Ophis and asked her.

The same indifferent facial expression bore her face before replying, "No. The last time I was here, a red-haired twin-tail girl wanted to ride on my back…"

"A red-haired girl?" Kenshin rubbed his chin. Recalling his memories of red-haired devils.

Must've been a Gremory. But still, there's no known red-haired Gremory in the devil's memories aside from the 6-year-old Rias Gremory, muttered Kenshin under his breath, curious whether that red-haired twin-tailed Gremory girl was killed by Ophis back then.

"Before we visit the nearest settlement, let's mask ourselves first."

Kenshin then took out two rings and infused them with Demonic Energy, casually intertwining a combination of runes before handing them to both Yasaka and Ophis.

"Wear this. It'll mask yourselves and make you smell like a devil."

Yasaka nodded and wore it without hesitation. Instantly, her Ki signature was 'erased' and replaced with the familiar Demonic Energy.

"Now just hide those ears and tails and we'll be good to go. From now on, your name will be Yasari."

When Yasaka heard him, she couldn't help but stare at him for a long time.

Kenshin curiously asked, "What?"

"Yasari? Really? Combining my name with mom's?"

Kenshin chuckled, "What? It's a good name!"

Yasaka didn't say anything more and simply rolled her eyes at him.

"Ophis?" Kenshin turned his head to the Dragon God on his shoulders and saw her assessing the ring in her hand for a few seconds before handing it back to him.

Kenshin raised a brow in confusion, "What's wrong?" Did she not like the color perhaps?

Ophis didn't answer verbally. Instead, she just shook her hand, and much to Kenshin's surprise, he felt her energy turn into Demonic Energy.

"How did you do that?" asked Kenshin with a gasp.

"We're just the same. I can use all sorts of energy known in the Universe…well except for Baka-Red's Dream Energy…" She doesn't seem to be fond of that last fact.

Unlike her, this was Kenshin's first time hearing about the said energy, he barely asks anything related to the Great Red, mostly because he thinks of it as a taboo discussion to Ophis, "Dream Energy?"

Ophis nodded her head almost immediately, "It's what powers Baka-Red. It doesn't seem to belong to this Universe. From what I assume, she doesn't belong to this Universe entirely. I was supposed to be the only Dragon God…" The tone of her voice, despite being indifferent, sounds like she was holding back her anger.

"That's fascinating…" Kenshin's eyes glittered in interest. No wonder he hasn't heard of it. With his Nuclear Fusion Energy Reactor skill that gives him access to every single kind of energy in the world, he would've long known about such an overpowered source of energy.

Now I want to meet this Great Red and see if I can do something about her Dream Energy…

The fiery flames of one of the main cores of being a magician flared inside him. He was curious, he wanted to experiment. This trait of his which he thought was long lost since he assumed that he had already studied everything there is about magic was lit up again.

Just then, Yasaka's voice interrupted their conversation, her arms crossed under her big bosom, "Are you two just going to chat away for the rest of our stay here or are we going to find ourselves a civilization?"

"My bad." Kenshin scratched his cheek and cleared his throat.

He grabbed Ophis's tiny ankles like she was his child before sauntering forward, "Let's go."

Ophis didn't seem to mind it and simply grabbed a handful of Kenshin's hair with her two little hands for support.

When Yasaka saw this, she couldn't help but fantasize about being a mother to Ophis and Kenshin as her husband.

Unfortunately, with Ophis's status and strength, that fantasy is far from being realized. She might as well pretend like one and keep it for herself.

Maybe someday, Yasaka muttered to herself as she couldn't hold herself back from caressing her tummy.

She wondered if her constant intercourse with Kenshin for the past few weeks was going to bear fruit. She just hopes it would. Or else it would've been a waste that Kenshin to pump it inside of her when she could've just swallowed it.

Kenshin's baby batter is after all, the most delicious delicacy her tongue has ever laid upon.

———

"Nooo! How can this be!" A gathering has formed around a large white estate—the familiar Sitri signature plastered on the gates and flags all over the mansion.

In the garden, a bunch of snotty brats and noble-looking individuals were gathered in a circle. In the middle of it sat two small figures.

On the left is a golden-haired kid with gritted teeth. Her eyebrows furrowed and her eyes were bloodshot. In front of him lay a chessboard—the white pieces were dominant on the battlefield with only a few pawns missing while on the other color, only two pawns, a King, and a Knight were left remaining.

"H-How can this be. I studied for days…" The golden-haired boy kept muttering under his breath like a deranged individual.

His opponent?

Sona Sitri. A rising star in the Underworld. A few weeks ago, a pillar family proposed marriage with the youngest heiress, Sona, hoping to either form connections or simply gain control over the Sitri family.

That's when the family revealed that only by defeating the youngest heiress, Sona Sitri, in chess, would they be worthy of marrying her.

Countless children from different families instantly signed up. Why wouldn't they? Defeating a small child in a game designed for smart adults to be able to become the new head of one of the largest and influential pillar families in the entire Underworld is a one-sided win situation.

Or at least that's what it's supposed to be except that the one-sided win situation part would actually belong to the Sitri heiress.

None was able to defeat her. The first one? He came home crying, locked up in a room, and embarrassing his entire family.

The others who followed up met the same cruel fate. It only took minutes before Sona wiped the floor with them. Then those minutes turned into a single minute before eventually turning into less than a minute. She wasn't just winning, she was also adapting.

Sona Sitri can't just be called a genius chess player, no. She was a prodigy. The current smartest heiress in the Underworld.

Even if children tried to study chess, learn from the best, Sona still grasps the upper hand, as if their futile efforts were seen as nothing but an attempt to embarrass themselves.

Thanks to this, Sona Sitri remained as a heiress without a fiancé but at the same time, everyone worships and admires her for her smart.

And with her sister as one of the Satans, the people already see that the future of the Sitri clan would be great, perhaps reaching the level of the Gremory clan or even the Bael clan in terms of power and influence wasn't far off.

"Checkmate…" Sona's harsh voice stung the golden-haired brat's chest like a hot knife to butter. He didn't even last a minute. He could've if he had delayed every time during his turn but no, he assumed he was winning at first when he was the first to take her pawn, so he hurried his pace.

Who would've known that would become his first and last take throughout the entire game?

"You can leave now." Sona pushed the rim of her glasses and said, her voice ringing across the vicinity and instantly, everyone backed away slightly.

"How scary~ that was the fifth heir that she defeated this day. I wonder who's her next victim?"

"Maybe I should also try?"

"Are you insane? You're already married and you want to fight a child to put a ring on her hand?"

"What? No! That's not what I meant! I was talking about defeating her in chess for competitive reasons!"

"Doesn't matter. It's not like you're gonna win anyway. You're already a loser in life and now you also want to become a loser in chess? Talk about being a loser of all trades."

"Fuck off!"

"But still, the Sitri heiress is amazing. She doesn't even look like she was trying…"

"That's the Sitri for you. The oldest child is a Satan and the youngest is the smartest. This family just gave birth to two geniuses."

"You're right."

Hearing the whispers surrounding her, Sona couldn't help but smirk as a response. She's starting to like the feeling of dominating against the snotty brats who think she would be an easy pick.

Think twice before you face me, Sona snorted in her mind as she grabbed her chessboard and its pieces before leaving.

However, before she could fully leave, she heard one last whisper belonging to someone she didn't know.

"Heh. If she keeps up like this. She's just going to end up like her sister, a loner and a psychopath."
